Just Another Day for Reaper Hunting Co. III

Part 1: Hunters and The Hunted

Arc 5: Monster Hunting.

(Annah and Sam arrive back at Reaper Hunting Co. Sam is still of course a teddy bear. Able is busy doing research on how to get Sam back to normal. There is a puppet show on the TV)

Sam: (Annah places him down at his desk) Since when did we watch puppets? Isn't there anything else on TV?

Kane: (Sitting on the couch, reading a magazine) Would you be surprised if I told you, that there's nothing on TV on Sunday...?

Sam: Would you be surprised if I asked you; where you were for the last 4 months?

Kane: Personal business that's all...

Sam: Right, personal business...

Ren: (Comes stumbling down the stairs, holding onto his head and he looks tired) Guys... I don't feel so... bri-...

(Ren suddenly falls to the floor unconscious)

Sam: Yeah... that tends to happen when you use the dagger. His mind and body wasn't quite prepared for sudden burst of Magica. So it responded by knocking him out-...

(Suddenly the main puppet on the TV show, takes a more sinister tone)

Kugustu: (Looking directly at the screen, calling people closer to it) (It is light blue in color, it's eyes are pitch black and it is wearing a black and red cape and it has black hair) Yes, that's it kids... get closer... I want you all to closely follow Mr. Kugustu's demands; get a knife or any other sharp and dangerous object. Then I want you all to attack your parental figure and when they're asleep... move the knife up to your neck and-...

A woman off-screen: Kugustu!!! You coming?

Kugustu: (Quickly moves away from the screen) Damn it woman I'm coming!!!

Sam: Guys... that puppet... just told me to kill my parents and then myself...

Kane: What are you going on about?

Sam: That damn puppet on the TV!!!

Annah: Sam it's just a puppet.

Sam: A puppet that told me to kill myself!!!

Kane: Relax... it's probably just another one of those hallucinations that you keep having.

Sam: I know for a fact that wasn't a hallucinations. I mean I've seen a guy in a red cloak, voices in my head and constant dreams about this place called "Goruden" and a woman called "Irene Scarlet" something about "Zodiac Knights" too and Dragons... I don't know! But never a puppet telling me to kill myself...

Kane: Hmm... this may be interesting. (Starts to get up and walk towards the door) Never killed a puppet before...

Sam: Where are you going!?

Kane: I'm gonna go kill an evil puppet, be back in an hour.

Sam: Hey!!! You're not gonna do research!?

Kane: (Leaves out the door) Nope! It's a puppet, just shoot it, I can do that easily!

Sam: (Looking at Kane leaving) He just... (Sighing) arrogant, overconfident bastard... but that's why I like him.

Annah: You're not gonna go with him?

Sam: Oh... I am!

Ren: (Starts to get up slowly) Ah, my head.

Sam: Hey, get up!

Ren: Just give me a minute.

Sam: I'm not paying you for nothing. Get up, get behind a computer and get a book on demons and monsters. You're my Info Broker, you're gonna tell me everything I need to know when it comes to it.

Ren: Right... yeah, cool.

Sam: Let's get going... where did he go in the first place?

Annah: Probably the studio behind "Kugutsu's Street".

Sam: That's a straight bet right there. Ren, second you're behind a computer tell me everything you know about that studio...

Ren: Yeah... just give me a minute.

Sam: Annah... carry me to that studio please?

Annah: Right! Anything for you!!!

Sam: Haha... let's get going.

(Inside a dark room. 5 puppets sit around a room, one of which is Kugutsu)

Kugutsu: I think my plan worked perfectly. Hell only children could see my transmission, it'll all go to plan!

Rayfield: (Looks like an old man puppet, he is grey in color and is wearing a black shirt and blue jeans) No you're a fool.

Kugutsu: (Slams his fists on the table) What!?

Rayflied: Don't you think it's a bit stupid, that you broadcasted your message as our show was on the air? And what if one of the kids survived? What are they gonna say to the cops? "Mr. Kugutsu told me, through the TV".

Kugutsu: Damn you!

Ceyra: (The puppet appears to be a woman, she is pink and her hair is purple tied to a ponytail, she is wearing a red dress) Haha... the old man makes a good point, Kugutsu.

Tickles: (A clown, wearing a rainbow polka dot pattern jumpsuit) Hahaha!!! I for one liked the message, really my style!!! Hahaha!!!

Kugutsu: See he agrees with me! What about you Banana!?

(Banana is a monkey wearing a bowler hat. It is just eating its banana and remains silent)

Kugutsu: Of course the damn monkey doesn't talk... listen this plan'll work, just one more airing is what we need. Our influence would be powerful enough and they'll be under our complete control-...

(Suddenly the door to the room opens and in walks Kane, he turns on a light and looks around the room. The puppets have frozen and stopped moving)

Kane: Of course one of them has to be a damn clown! Any evil, possessed puppets in here? Or did I come here for nothing and my friend is just going insane!?

(Kane looks to his left and a massive 6'9ft teddy bear of a green rabbit attacks him, before Kane can even react. Kane is knocked out and the puppets spring back to life)

Kugutsu: Good Work, Davy!!! Quick somebody tie him up!

(Annah arrives at Tori Studios, the studio behind Kugutsu's Street. It is 5 stories tall and has "Tori Studios" written in Kanji at the top of the building. She walks up to the receptionist's desk)

The Receptionist: Um... hello mam, can we help you?

Annah: (Shows Sam, who is frozen stiff to the receptionist) I heard that Kugutsu's Street needs another teddy bear, so I want to offer up mine. He's made of a very fine material, he doesn't even have any wear and tear.

The Receptionist: (Picks up Sam and starts inspecting him) Hmm... he's got some interesting clothing on, the eyes look good. What's his name?

Annah: Naruhiko! So is he in!? It's been my dream for him to star in a show someday!!!

The Receptionist: I'm just a receptionist. But'll take him up and I'll get back to you in a few days.

Annah: Yay! Thanks, sir!

(Annah walks out of the building filled with joy and the receptionist places Sam on a desk in another room, along with other teddy bears)

The Receptionist: (Just as he leaves the room one of the teddy bears falls down, drawing his attention) The hell? I'm sure I placed them all stable on the desk. (He places the teddy bear that fell down on the desk but notices, Sam is gone) What!? Where did it go!?

Sam: (Standing under the table) *Whistles* Down here... (The Receptionist bends down to look under the table) (Sam jumps in front of his face) Boo!!!

(The Receptionist falls backwards and runs out of the room screaming)

Sam: Haha... works perfectly.

(Sam walks out of the room and starts sneaking around the offices)

(His phone starts ringing from inside his Coat Pocket "Break Free, Break Free, Break Me Free. Freedom is so Close to Me. The Paradigm we find ourselves in is infinite!!! The Ashes on The Fire Burn Deeply!!!" is his ringtone. The pocket contains a well Pocket Dimension, where he keeps random items)

(He takes the phone out and it's almost half his size)

Sam: (Struggling to push the buttons) Oh... I need fingers and quick! (He finally manages to answer the phone) Hola name's Sam, what do you want?

(At Reaper Hunting Co. Ren is sitting in a library-like room. In front of a computer, while Able is working in the background)

Ren: (He sounds like he has a cold. He called Sam) Yeah listen... Tori Studios ain't quite what it seems, or more or less the building's not what it seems. Everything checks out normally about the studio, the building on the other hand though...

Sam: (On the other side of the phone) What's the matter with it?

Ren: It was built in 1897... by a cult that worshiped a Yokai.

Sam: (On the other side of the phone) Haven't killed one of them in a while...

Ren: Not just any Yokai, but Arashi... who would oh no...

Sam: What did he do?

Ren: Who would trick children into being weak and that they would listen to him. Then ordering them to kill their parent, where he would then... eat their souls. Not what I signed up for today... Anyways, the building was bought by Tori Studios in 2018. Renovation would finish in 2019 and "Kugutsu's Street" would air from here in 2020.

Sam: *Sigh* Interesting to say the least.

Ren: Hyperlink to Kugutsu's Street. It is a Puppet Show staring Kugutsu and his Friends as they go through many adventures together. It airs weekly on Wednesday and Sundays, and is well acclaimed by critics and causal viewers. So what do you think?

Sam: Well, I'm guessing that Arashi must be controlling Kugutsu. Using the TV show to trick the kids, I gotta hurry then! When's the next airing?

Ren: Umm... you might want to get moving real quick! In a few minutes at 13:00.

Sam: Ah... shit!

(Sam hangs up and Ren picks up a coffee cup. Strangely a surge of electricity goes from his hand to the cup)

Ren: What the hell?

Able: (Reading through a book) That right there was your Elementa, you'll learn to control it soon enough. In the mean time, try not to shock yourself to death.

(Back at Tori Studios, Sam is running through the halls to get to the recording area. When he suddenly hears something coming from inside a closet)

Sam: (Stops at the door and knocks on it) Anyone in there!?

(There are muffled screams coming from inside the closet and Sam jumps up to the knob to try and open it, but it's locked)

Sam: (Steps back from the door and puts his left shoulder in front of him. He uses Reaper Enhance to increase his physical strength) Here goes nothing!!! (He charges through the door to the closet and holds onto his shoulder) Oh!!! That hurt a lot then I thought it would!!!

(Inside the closet Kane is strapped to a chair, he has tape over his mouth)

Sam: Oh hey there! Got your ass handed to you by a few puppets!?

Kane: (Muffled through the tape) Samuel!!! Help!

Sam: Haha fine... (He walks behind the chair and attempts to untie it, but is unsuccessful due to having no fingers) Keep still. (Sam summons Grimm Fire in his hand and uses it to burn the ropes)

Kane: (Breaks his hands free and takes the tape off his mouth) How'd you get here!?

Sam: Got a little help from Annah, you? Particularly, how did you get strapped to a chair?

Kane: Was a big rabbit, teddy bear thing. (Sam lets out a small giggle) It was 6'9ft tall!!!

Sam: Yeah sure whatever you say! Listen we gotta get to the Recording Room and fast! Their about to air the next episode and I'm pretty sure, a Yokai's about to steal some children's souls.

Kane: Well let's go already!!!

Sam: You go head in, I've got a different plan.

Kane: And that is!?

Sam: Dramatic Entrance my dear Rival!

(Sam walks off in a different direction, leaving Kane behind)

(Kane sighs, shakes his head and continues on towards the recording area)

(Inside the recording area are cardboard cutouts of a red house, a street with several street lamps on the side walk. There is a cardboard sign that says "Kugutsu Street" on it)

A manager: (Standing off set) Alright! Camera's ready!? Lights on!!!

(The lights go on and an actor walks onto set, holding Kugutsu)

(The cameras start rolling)

Kugutsu: All ready!!! Here we go, kids!!! Yes, stare straight at the TV!!! Straight at Kugutsu!!! Are you getting tired? Good, good...

(Kugutsu is using Magica to make it so that only the other puppets and children can hear him talk on his own)

(Children around Japan start feeling weak as their souls are starting to be taken from them)

Kugutsu: That's great kids... go on, feel weak...

(Suddenly the main door flies open and out comes Kane)

Kane: Uncle Kane is in the House!!!

Kugutsu: (He is interrupted and accidentally breaks the Magica spell. Everyone can hear him talk on his own now) You!!! How'd you get free!?

Kane: Had a little help from a teddy bear friend! Anyways, we gonna fight each other now or what...?

(Kane takes out a few Kunais in his right hand. And one attached to a rope in his left hand)

Kane: Because I'm all ready for action!!!
