Chapter 1: What lingers in one's mind: Hope or Pain

Kage, you can't ever leave your past, the white room will forever be your place, society won't accept you and you know it, don't think you are going to be okay, we need to still experiment on you. Kage wakes up and sits on the bed, he then says"These nightmares won't stop but to be frank, they have become part of me anyway, then kage has a flashback where his father took him to the white room and dumped him there; that was the last day kage saw his parents. He then gets up and refreshes himself and gets set to his new school called Advanced Metropolitan High school, Tokyo. The school has been said to produce future leaders and people who will likely succeed in their career and get ahead of their peers. On the bus to the school, kage remembers what his teacher told him, he said that people think they are equal but to be frank, they are not. A little kage puzzled by this couldn't help but try to ask why?. The teacher told him that only at birth, people are equal and in Christ but in society, it is the opposite actually and that the powerful will rule while the average and poor suffer. On the bus, kage seems to find out that most students going to advanced metropolitan high school are the ones gathered. A young man who seems to be on the collapsing, begs one of the students for a seat but the student ignores him. That made a girl called Sakura get up and offer her seat to the man. He thanked her and they finally stopped at advanced metropolitan high school. Get down, kage thinks about how he has 4 more years before being taken back to the white room and it was due to the fact that kage was the most brilliant specimen ever created there.

Getting down, kage is being assigned to Class-4 which was tagged for being the worst. In the class, the teacher enters and says her name is Watashi no ai. She then tells them they will be staying at this school for the next 4 years and won't be going home, she also informs them that their parents are aware and the school provides everything that they need on their day to day daily basis. She then hands them the schools own phone for each student because apparently the school also told them to leave their technology behind, being astonished, a message pops on the students phone and it says that they 1 million points each and they were surprised. Watashi no ai then explains that it is equivalent to money and this makes the students excited, she also informs them that each test and exam, points will be delivered which makes the students happy and she then hands out the school's manual. Everyone in class ignores the manual and heads out to enjoy a moment of luxury. In class, Kage looks at the manual to find out that if they fail a test terribly, no points will be awarded. Kage then sighs and tells himself that his class is screwed.

Weeks pass by and the students are enjoying a life of luxury in class-4 and when the test results come out, as kage had predicted, they all failed. They are shocked to not have been awarded points. This makes one of the students Yukimura get up and question the teacher and much to his surprise, watashi no ai says that points were awarded but because of the way their class failed, no points. Stunned, they all tell the teacher that she didn't tell them this and she insults them calling them "useless". Watashi no ai then asks if anyone ever read the school manual and there was silence in the class but kage decided to go along and just stay silent. Watashi no ai then says this school makes the elite and not rich lazy people.

Immersed in his thoughts, kage then says that the journey for making the elite has just begun.
