First Person Pov

It's been a while since I've seen Fetain, I would say about three months, give or take. I haven't thought about Fetain's offer since we've last seen each other, either.

I've recently been called for another torture job, usually, I pair up with Fetain, he and I work well together and we each have our strategies that make the job a lot easier.

Sadly, Fetain called in saying he was in a bit of a pickle and couldn't come in— the mentioned something about a chain user and children, something I would never have thought Fetain would say.— I haven't heard much from him since that call, but in all honesty, I wasn't worried, he can handle his own, I know from experience.

As I put on the floor-length formal gown I had picked up from a shop, I sighed, my mission was to head to 'Boule au clair de lune' or 'Moonlight Ball', located in York New, and snatch an important business owner. This was going to be more than easy, as I had gotten information stating that this man had a very low pain tolerance.

I walked over to my mirror, my reflection stared back at me. I brought my hand up to the scar that ran over my left eye, wincing at the painful memories it held.

When I was younger, I didn't have a home, or even a family at that. One day, I had wandered into one of the most beautiful towns I've ever seen. Everyone, no matter if they were young or old, had the prettiest crimson eyes.

I had stolen bread from a local bakery, I'd been caught and taken in by the couple who owned the shop. The mother, whom I presume, was a kind soul. She had short golden-blond hair and the sweetest smile—the type of smile that makes you feel good, even if you were having the worst day.—The father, well, I don't remember much about his personality, but I do remember he had short slicked-back black hair, and he was quite tall.

They also had a daughter, wait, no, a son. He was so sweet, but I can't remember his name or much of what he looked like.

The couple had talked to me, I told them about how I didn't have a family and that I was sorry for stealing their bread. For some reason, they had decided they would 'adopt' me.

I lived with them for a few years, until something happened. This part is the most blurry, I just remember that there was lots of blood and destruction.

The scar, on my eye, was probably because the person who attacked my family, my friends, thought that I had red eyes. I don't know how I even got away, was I spared? Or did I run away? I can't remember who even attacked, it's probably because I've suppressed the horrific memories, but still, it haunts me to this day.

I snapped out of my daydream and sighed. I turned around and headed out my bedroom door, shutting it behind me.

Traveling to York New won't take too long, as I booked a flight on a blimp a few days prior. I walked out of the small hotel I was staying at and began to walk down the street in long strides. I kept my head up, and a small smile rested on my lips.

As I made my way to the boarding dock of the small blimp, someone caught my eye. See, this blimp was only taking people to York New, specifically around the Moonlight Ball. Usually, I wouldn't have thought much about the people riding on this machine, mainly because everyone looked the same. Black suit, fat or small build, and a cocky personality. But this person seemed to be different.

The man had long black hair, deep brown eyes, and pale skin. It was hard to tell in the dark, as it was about nine-thirty at night, but I think the man was wearing an olive green suit.

I chose to ignore the man, as he probably just had a good sense of style, but something was off. Unlike the other men and women here, who all had impertinent stares, the man wearing the green suit,—which is very unusual, as the dress code for men was a black suit—and had a blank stare, it's like the face Fetain wears, all the time. The only reason it set me off is that his blank stare was pouring into the back of my head.
