Chapter 5: The Presence in Chealb

"Thank you guys for taking this job all the way out here, you probably had your hands full in addis adaba, right?" Said police commissioner Phineas Hinsen to 4 sibling P.I's, he's a close friend of their father's.

"Not really, that lousy place is filled with the same crimes to solve we've been cracking since childhood." The 2nd eldest sibling replied in a genuinely annoyed tone, Tal presence.

"So, What'd you commission us for, Commissioner?" Asked Dustin presence, the eldest of the 4 the commissioner called in from Africa, "Right, um, I've called you in because-" He replied before he was cut off by Dustin, "You've reason to suspect there's a mole in your department, which is exactly why just the five of us are meeting here at night and alone, where most of the night shift are out on patrol so the men at the desk out there are off the suspect list, erm correct?" Dustin blurted out to show the commissioner they're worth his time.

"Your father wasn't exaggerating when he said you were something, huh, but yes exactly." The commissioner commented then confirmed, "Except you guys won't be finding who nor how many moles are here, leave that to me I just didn't want you to be spotted by a possible mole by meeting in the daylight and it'd be a waste of your time if I put you guys on the mole case. I need you guys' complete attention on this baffling and mysterious arms dealer investigation, that's the only information we have on him, that there is without a doubt somebody selling or equipping some highly advanced weaponry to mere street thugs but his identity, motive and location or stashes remain completely lost on us here." The commissioner completely informe the squad.

"Right, this'll be the only thing on my mind then, unless a certain vigilante's kid decide he'll pay US a visit." Dustin responded with a strange tone at the end.

"Mist-heir or kid or whatever?" The commissioner asked rhetorically, "He's not his father at all, he shouldn't be an issue for the four of you one bit, although I hate seeing that potential filled kid hurt himself playing hero, the closest thing to his father so far is in his elusiveness. Somehow, he's evaded all of us at the stations but I doubt if you encounter him then he could even be a threat to you guys, bring him in and as a bonus, you'll get triple." The commissioner finished telling Dustin and the squad.

"Sounds perfect to us, Commissioner, sounds great." Dustin replicrus

A few minutes later, outside as they're leaving from the meeting and private briefing.

"Whoa, whoa Dusty, we're not gonna try and expose or bust the legendary Mist-keeper's son, are we?!" Janece asked as she grabbed Dustin's shoulder to gain his attention, "Obviously not Janece, Seer Lisha asked us to train him but--" Dustin answered his little sister with the calmest and sincerest tone he could to assure her of his answer.

"I know, Dad said he was the most stubborn and holier-than-thou lawman he's ever known." Said Janece after she interrupted him, "It's like your super power is to pay attention when you want to, Tal's going to train him to be as elusive as his father, if not more, this entire assignment is going to be a gamble though. We'll find him, convince him and stand by proud at the achievements he'll have when we're done." Dustin finished explaining.

"Alright 3v3 soccer game, I want Derek, Liam and Amory versus Hiro, Will and Ajal!" Said Derek's Gym teacher, coach Barke, everybody called him, got off the field and with the others as the names he called all walked to their spots.

Derek walked to the field like he was unamused and unenthused, "How uh… how do you play this game again?" Derek asked as he leaned over to Liam while everyone else readied.

Liam chuckled thinking he was joking until he did a double take and realized he wasn't at all, "Just use your legs to guide the ball to the net, no hands, dude and get it into the goal!" Liam answered him as questions swarmed his mind but he ignored them as the match was gonna start. Derek nodded and mimicked the stance his classmate Ajal was in…

"BEGIN!" Coach Barke yelled at the top of his lungs…

Derek having been the quickest, he got a hold of the ball, he assumed whoever made it to the ball first gets first chance at the goal.

Derek kicked the ball around and got the hang of how to move quickly, even outmaneuvering Ajal with the greatest of ease, he outmaneuvered William as if he wasn't even trying, then came time to attempt a goal, Hiro being the goalie was his biggest issue. He's heard about how good Hiro was at goalie the entire day.

"Derek, pass it to me, to me!" Amory called out while waving his arms in the air As one would…

Derek didn't even glance at Amory nor Liam and continued heading towards Hiro and the goal almost at full speed ahead.

Derek had to calculate how much power he would need to kick the ball so his strength doesn't get exposed on the way and when he made it in range, he kicked the ball with what he decided with but Hiro blocked it as easily as what he heard he could…

Hiro grabbed the ball and tossed it back into the field, Will swooped in like a Hawk that's been circling for Prey and raced with the ball across the field.

Derek caught up quickly but Will had already passed the ball to his teammate Ajal and they scored the first goal.

The time flew by swiftly, the score resulted in zero to Five.

"What the heck, man, you're good enough to suddenly hog the ball all game but not decent enough to at least score a single goal?!" Amory berated Derek for being not only a glory hog but not a team player either.

Derek looked around as he sat on the bleachers with the entire Gym class staring at him.

"Guys, my pal's new, he's new to socializing and this is his first year at an actual public school, cut him some slack, he's been homeschooled his entire life. He'll learn, like he didn't even know what soccer was or how to play it before today, he's a quick learner." Liam loudly yelled as he sat next to Derek.

"Agh, Yeah, well whatever, weirdo's lucky this is a school." Amory frustratingly said under his breath as he walked away unhappy, The Coach's eyes lit up, "Oh, that's a good point, this is a school, everybody back to their spots until lunch in a few minutes!" Coach Barke yelled out, the mob of mixed students who were upset and laughing at Derek listened.

"Thanks." Derek said to Liam as the class dispersed back to their seats, "Anytime, Dare but hopefully I'm right about you being as quick to learn as you were to steal the ball from us." Liam replied in a kind tone, "You don't need to hope that." he finished.

The girl, Kamila methadonna, that's been pretty eye catching to Derek didn't go back to her original spot on the bleachers and she instead snuck by the Coach to sit next to him.

Derek smelled something that impelled him to sniff around and when he did, he turned to his right only to realize his crush was right next to him.

He cringed up, he froze up, he couldn't move and specifically his hands became sweatier than ever as he felt a sort of noticeable warming in his upperbody, specifically his shoulders and pecs. He couldn't move his face, one side of his mouth was a smile and the other was plain.

"That's my favorite Kpop band on your shirt, are they your favorite too?" Kamila asked feeling a bit of delight, thinking she's finally met someone who liked the underrated and recently fallen band.

Confused, nervous and lacking confidence in his voice, his words, "Nope, this is a coincedence, a wardrobe malfunction this morning." as he tried his best to hide his lack of total confidence and his shyness.
