Where Does It Hurt?

"Sister-in-law!" Celinda scurried over to Selina's side while calling out to expose her identity. Most socialites knew that Celinda had a straightforward personality. Only those whom she considered as her friends and family could gain her affection. Under everyone's witness, she walked over, hugged Selina's arm and complimented her loudly.

Once they've reached their objectives, Kyla and Jessica turned the lights back to normal and joined Selina. Placing their palms on Selina's back, they eyed her from head to toe a few times.

Jessica raised a thumbs up motion, expressing her approval to the daring outfit. "Very sexy! Oolala, look at you! Damn, girl!!"

Kyla was about to compliment Selina when she saw Trang Lai approaching them. From one look, Kyla could sense the enmity Trang had against Selina. Kyla smiled, thinking about ways to piss her off.

Raising the glass in her hand, Trang introduced herself to the girls. "Hello, I'm Trang Lai. My father is one of the biggest investors in Hui Corps."

Selina parted her lips, ready to exchange greetings with her. Jessica narrowed her eyes at Trang and noticed the smirk tilted on Kyla's lips. As if Jessica had read Kyla's thoughts, a naughty smile curved on her lips as well. From behind, Kyla gave Selina a pinch causing her to hiss sharply.

"Oh! Where does it hurt, Selina?" Jessica purposely said it out loud to get Jason's attention. He wasn't far from where Selina stood, so it wasn't difficult for him to hear their conversation. When he heard Selina's name, he quickly excused himself and walked over.

"Where does it hurt?" He totally ignored Trang's presence and went over to check up on his wife.

"No. It's nothing." Selina smiled at him.

"Is it your feet? I told you that you didn't have to wear heels. You could've worn sneakers or even slippers if you wanted to. It's more comfortable than these pointy heels. Come, let's get you a seat." He wrapped his arms around her and supported her body as they walked.

"Eh? But this is a ballroom event, not golf. I can't wear something casual, or it'll be inappropriate. I'm your wife. How could I look out of place at my hubby's event? That'll make you lose face." She pouted slightly, conveying her thoughts.

Helplessly smiling, Jason pinched his wife's chin and coaxed her. "Who did you say you were? My what?"

"Your wife." Selina responded instantly.

"Good. Since you are my wife, you are also the host of the event. What's mine is yours. You are supposed to be as comfortable as you want at your own event. If these shoes are scraping your skin, then don't force yourself to wear them. If you're cold wearing this dress, then don't hesitate to wear a thick winter coat to cover yourself up." Jason chuckled seeing his wife's sweet smile.

"So, what if there's something else that I want? Can I have anything I want?" She twirled her finger coquettishly on his chest and bit her bottom lip.

"Anything you want." He planted a kiss to her forehead. A soft laugh escaped her lips.

She whispered something in his ears. Responding to her words, he said. "I just know."

"Wait a minute." Kyla stopped him from taking Selina away.

"What is it?" Jason turned his head to look at the strange expression on Jessica and Kyla's face. Then, his eyes landed on the slightly awkward look on Trang's face.

"Miss. Lai just introduced herself to us. We should greet her or else it'll be rude." Kyla replied.

Before Selina could open her mouth to give a response, Jason already said it in her place. "Miss. Lai, this is my wife, Selina. Sorry for the late introduction, but my wife needs rest. Please enjoy yourself tonight."

While walking away, Jason's spoiling tone could be heard distinctly.

"If your feet hurt, change into slippers. I don't want to see your feet swollen tomorrow. I'll apply ointment on your feet when we get back." He spoke in concern as he led her to an empty seat.

"Hubby, if my feet are swollen enough, we can have pig feet for dinner. Hahahaha." She joked around as she let Jason inspect the scrapes around her ankles.

"Oh? Then the pig must get stuffed tonight to taste delicious tomorrow. But don't worry, with me as the massager, the person with pig feet tomorrow will definitely not be you." Jason poked the tip of her nose lightly.

Selina giggled at the sight of her husband spoiling her. "Then, Mister Hui, I'll gladly take up your foot massage offer."

"My pleasure." He kissed her on the cheeks and waited until Celinda came to keep her company.

As soon as Celinda came over to stay by Selina's side, Jason reminded his sister to take care of his wife. Although he wanted to introduce her to everyone, he knew it would be too tiring for her to walk around. Instead of feeling restless wherever they walk to, he would rather see her enjoy the food.

His eyes wandered to the buffet station and saw that all dishes were ready to be served. Since the line just began to form, he gave the girls another reminder. "If you're hungry, go grab some food. I'll be back after giving my speech. Get some food first and settle down. When you're done, I will make my announcements and toast to everyone. Don't rush. Take your time."

Trang Lai heard his words and almost wanted to cough up blood. "What? The Jason Hui who hated delays is willing to push back his speech and go off schedule for a woman like her?! What part of her is good enough to be his wife? Talk about meat, she has no curves. Talk about height, she barely reached my shoulder."

Right before Jason walked away from them, he said. "Oh, right. Remember, no alcohol. I arranged raspberry juice as the other beverage. If you want to order something else, you can too."

"Oh? So, she can't tolerate alcohol, huh? Then, let's have some fun tonight." Trang Lai took a sip of champagne and followed the girls as they went to the back of the line to get food.
