Hearing Selina's name coming from his cousin's mouth, Peter stood up abruptly, ignoring the advisors in front of his office. His arms trembled as the image of her smiling face floated to his mind. He could hear his own pulsation as he listened to Roger's weeping complaints.
"Selina? Did you just say Selina? Where was she?" He ignored all the other words his cousin was ranting about, focusing only on the fiancée he had previously wronged.
"Fucking a-hole! I'm talking about my wife divorcing me. My huge loss! And you're asking about your bitch ass girlfriend who kicked me in the balls? Hah, forget saving your parents! Go to Jason Hui yourself and beg him. Maybe his sister would give a few good words since she's friends with Selinaahhhhh!!!"
A piercing screech disconnected the call, worrying Peter greatly. He kept redialing his cousin's number, but it never got through again. His last scream was bone chilling, spreading shivers all over his back. He bit his lips as he continued dialing until the calls went straight to his voicemail.
"What happened to him?!" He gritted his teeth, frustrated by the half dangling message about Selina.
On the other hand, at the mall, Roger held his crotch and cried as he made every step. His thighs were pushed together, looking as if he needed to use the restroom badly. In reality, his groin was burning from the damages from these two days. He hasn't recovered from that night and earned two more kicks to his privates.
As he shed tears and moved away from the crowds for the phone call, he didn't notice he was being tailed by Jason's bodyguards. Once Roger chased after the girls and made a move on Celinda, the guards gave Jason an emergency call. They snapped photos of what was happening and waited for his instructions.
From the photos Jason received, he noticed Celinda and Selina's flaming eyes. Postponing the meeting, he exited the room and instructed them to take action when the girls look like they can't handle him. He knew the look on his sister's face very well. She wasn't weak against that jerk anymore. Instead, she was ready to fight him head on without a trace of hesitance.
As her brother, he would always be her back up. Since Roger bullied her, it would only be natural for her to avenge herself. Not only that, he was related to the Sins. The Sins have done many despicable, horrible things to Selina, leading up to her memory loss.
Seeing the hatred from Selina's eyes, how could he allow his guards to interrupt? It didn't take long for the girls to get away from Roger. Following closely behind him, the guards attacked him and smashed his phone in the process.
"We got the target, boss." The bodyguard said as the crew stuffed him into the van and entered it.
"Good. You guys can bring him away. I'll deal with him later." Jason said as he parked his car across the mall and spotted the girls exiting from the mall entrance. He quickly loosened the belt around him and crossed the street to their side. From afar, he could tell something was wrong with Selina's complexion. She was oddly pale.
Celinda noticed her brother from across the street and pointed. "Selina! Brother is here." It was then that she heard Selina's pants and painful groans increasing in volume. While escaping from Roger, Selina had suppressed her discomfort from showing on her face. After pulling Celinda away, her fighting mode slowly switched off.
Once the tension had faded, she found herself trapped in a cage of pain. The throbbing pain in her head felt like someone was smashing a hammer against her scalp, breaking through layers of her system. If she listened closely, she might even hear her skull crack from this torment. Celinda dropped her shopping bags to the floor and supported Selina.
"Selina! What's wrong?" She panicked when she saw Selina's hand reached to hold her forehead. Selina's eyelids became heavier and slowly, she blinked her eyes shut. Sweat drenched her forehead as images continuously appeared in blinding colors. The venomous snake tattoo from Roger's arm and a similar looking office entered her mind.
"Selina!" Jason ignored the traffic lights and ran over when he saw her losing her balance. Wrapping his arm around her shoulder, he called out her name repeatedly. Hearing his voice calmed her fluttering heart, but wasn't enough to get rid of the aching migraine.
She forced her eyes to open for a few seconds. Blinded by vibrant colors and double vision, her world turned dark. As if she hadn't slept for a long time, the heaviness of her eyelids prevented her from responding to the screams around her. Though she heard Jason and Celinda's voice calling out to her, she couldn't find strength to look at them.
As her consciousness faded, voices echoed in her mind. It was a flashback from some time ago. Roger sounded helpless as he begged for financial investment from somebody he knew. Another man's voice echoed into her ears, sounding extremely familiar. Still, she couldn't see his face nor recall his name.
She remembered disliking the venomous snake tattoo on Roger's arm and seeing him more than once. 'But where?' She kept asking until her memories became clearer.
'Ah, right...it was an office..but whose office?' She started wondering to herself. No matter how hard she tried thinking about it, she couldn't remember. This time, the sharp pain in her chest was more realistic than before.
Like last time, she could see the sharp tip of the weapon rip through her flesh, penetrating her deeply. She remembered tears rushing to her eyes from the pain, but it was nothing close to the emotional affliction she suffered from. It was suffocating. She began hyperventilating. She couldn't breathe.
'Somebody help me and tell me what to do. Help me..' Suddenly, the floor she was standing on shattered to pieces, dropping her from an endless height to the depths of abysses.
"Ahhhh!!!!" She jolted up in bed and covered her ears, trembling vigorously in cold sweat. It took her a while to distinguish reality from her dream. Her body laid in Jason's embrace as he rubbed her back and whispered comfort to her ears.
"It's alright. It was a nightmare. You're fine. I'm here. I'm here. Deep breath. Inhale. Exhale." He kept repeating.
Her eyes finally opened to find herself in the private hospital room again. When she looked around, she saw Bryan, Alfred, Celinda and Jason around her. She wrapped her arms around Jason's neck and buried herself in his embrace as she cried hysterically.
Tears fell uncontrollably as she remembered the pain she had been through. She couldn't see who it was nor did she remember who caused that pain, but she won't forgive them. Bryan and Alfred approached her bedside and hesitantly reached out to soothe her back. When they did, they felt her shaking reduced and was glad she wasn't afraid of their touch.
Although Celinda didn't know what she dreamt of, tears streamed down her cheeks when she heard Selina's cries. She could hear her strained voice drowned in despair and misery. Desperately searching for someone to pull her out of her distress.
It took a long time before her tears stopped. Even then, she refused to let go of Jason as if leaving his arms would kill her a second time. Bryan and Alfred's eyes reddened from sorrow as they consoled her through back rubs. This was also the first time they had heard her wailing; her voice pierced their souls to pieces.
