Just Who Is Nein, Really?

Xavian's heart skipped a beat as he heard the door creak open.

He really had to leave and he had to leave as fast as he possibly could.

Scanning over the small room, Xavian could not find any openings whatsoever, anywhere in the entire room.

He proceeded to hide behind the thingy that kept the blood cold and covered his head.

"The f*ck are you doing?.

Are you a three year old playing hide and go seek or something?

I didn't know you believed in the 'if I can't see you, then you can't see me' kind of thing."

Xavian took a peek and was relieved.

It was someone he knew well.

"Max!"

The blonde teenager could finally breathe.

He had almost palipitated when he discovered that there were no windows whatsoever in the blood bank.

Max looked from the distraught Xavian, to the broken freezer, and down to the large pile of empty blood packs laying on the floor.

Shaking his head, he sighed.

"Look, I don't even want to know what This is all about, what I Do want to know is if you're ready for the ball."

Xavian tilted his head a bit, with a confused look on his face.

"The ball? I thought you told me that it was on Friday?"

Max groaned as he stroked his long black ponytail.

Something he only did when he was frustrated.

"Ugh, Don't you know that we have to prepare?!

We have to get our suits, we have to get a gift ready, and we have to prepare a really boring speech praising the Drakh."

Xavian scratched the back of his head a bit.

"Sorry, Max. But....."

With a short sigh, Max chimed in.

"No worries, I'll pay for everything.

Now go to your dorm, get yourself a good night's rest and meet me up after classes."

Xavian smiled.

"Definitely."

As Max turned to leave, Xavian had remembered something.

"Hey Max, do you know anything about the Navern?"

This made the ponytailed teenager halt in his tracks.

"Who told you about The Navern?"

Xavian replied with a shrug.

"My roommate, Nein, said his last name was Navern.

But I haven't seen him for a couple of days now and I was wondering if it had anything to do with his fa..."

"Xavian...."

Max begun.

His red eyes were narrowed as his tone changed to a really serious one.

Something he rarely did.

"There are some things that just knowing about could get you killed.

If you want to live, never should you ask anyone, and i mean ANYONE, about The Navern clan or anything related to them.

Do you understand?"

Xavian wiped the sweat running down his forehead.

He had never seen Max so serious before

"I understand... I'll be going off...to bed,....now.

See you later...I guess."

Then he ran off.

As he left, he over heard Max musing.

"I can't believe they actually let one of them into Crimson Academy.

What if something had happened to someone while they were there?,."

This further strengthened Xavian's theory.

"I think Nein had something to do with those two students.

Who really are you, Nein Navern?"
