Chapter 90 Small taste of revenge.

After the feast they all went to sleep leaving guard duty to the A.I who were already loading the damaged ships into the Abydos for repairs.

They all woke up refreshed after a good meal and night of sleep without worry that they might get attacked at any moment.

After breakfast Simon,Steuner and Mikael went into the office to plan their next move.

-The plan is to return into the Confederation space as the scouts reported that there is not one inhabited world in at least three thousand lightyears radius,not to mention that there already is some of the infrastructure left behind by our ancestors there.

Simon opened the discussion with his plan to return to their long forgotten home.

He also explained why they were exiled and what happened later.

What he couldn't explain was the reason that nobody on earth knew anything about it since they came from such an advanced civilization.

-That is a good plan,especially with what happened to most of our people,we need a place to stay and repopulate before we can even think about avenging our fallen.

Added with the technology that is ancient yet it is so far ahead of our own that it's scary,we might just be able to save our species from extinction.

Mikael approved of the idea.

-More than that my friend,we might be able to restore both our species in a short amount of time if we use the technology wisely.

Steuner said with approval in his voice.

This was their main concern right now as both of their species would need a lot of time to return to the numbers from before the attack that nearly wiped them out.

For humans it would take hundreds if not thousands of years to return their population to what it was since they had over nine billion people before and now they have barely a hundred thousand left.

For lizard men it would take much shorter time as their entire population was estimated at at most two hundred thousand around their planet.

Now there was not much more than two and a half thousand left but it was easier for them as the lizardmen were hatching from eggs and one female could lay around a dozen eggs at one time and all of them would hatch a new generation,multiplying their population many times in a short amount of time.

The only reason that they had such small numbers was that in their home world only one or two of the entire nest would live to adulthood.

Now that they would be living with the humans and taking care of their children they were expecting to reach one hundred thousand of their population within a few years.

-We will need to lay low for a very long time before we will be able to destroy our enemies but this time will allow us to research the new technology and develop new ones.

Also I want to let them think that we died out and the threat that I sent in a video to them was the last effort to scare them away.

Simon said and explained that the video that he made and released to the Federation net wasn't only to sever ties with Alesia who betrayed him on so many levels that he himself didn't even know how to feel about her right now.

But also a message that humanity would return and exact their revenge.

Simon knew that this would create some chaos among the Alliance and the federation and especially among the Elani who he wanted to destroy personally in the future and he wouldn't let a single one escape their fate.

The moment they betrayed his people,the relationship he had with Alesia was over and later when he got the information that she was to be married to the same guy that he almost killed in the arena,he knew that this was aimed at humiliating him in front of her people.

He decided to teach her a lesson that this was a game he also knew how to play.

However he had no idea that the Elani empire was in serious trouble right now thanks to his video.

-How long will it take us to reach the planet that you went to investigate?

Mikael asked.

Simon contacted Ptah to get the information.

-If we include the time that it will take to repair the fleet then around two months.

The A.I said after assessing the damage that the Terran fleet sustained.

Simon thought for a while as he had an idea that might convince the rest of the galaxy that Humanity met its end.

-Repair the ships just enough to let them jump, we will take all the battleships and some of the cruisers, the rest will be used as a decoy to convince everyone that we really died out.

He said and proceeded to explain his plans.

The idea was to send the fleet on auto pilot to one of the Alliance planets and make them crash into it.

The resulting explosions would wipe out quite a bit of the species that they targeted and hopefully convince them that humanity attacked in desperation to take one of its enemies with it.

The plan was bold and crazy enough to actually work.

If they succeeded then the rest of the galaxy would think that they were extinct and wouldn't bother to search for them.

Both Steuner and Mikael weren't sure about losing most of their fleet until Simon told them about all the ships that he couldn't repair because he had no crew for them just waiting for them in the system they were going to colonize soon.

Not to mention all the ships that the scouts found in the systems that they visited.

The plan was accepted with small changes to it as the fleet would be divided into seven smaller fleets fifty ships each and all the ships would be packed to the roof with explosives and ammunition to cause as much destruction as they were able to.

The other part that was changed was that the ships would be piloted by the A.I who would be able to evacuate through the relays while maintaining the illusion that the ships were crewed by humanity and they even came up with devices that could mimic the human life signs so that the enemy would really think that they were being attacked by the desperate humans remains.

The preparations took three days to complete and the seven fleets jumped out, each of them had its own target and one of them was going straight for the Elani empire capital world.

Humanity would make sure that their enemies would never forget this small revenge and when the time came to return and exterminate them they would be shocked by the appearance of the humans.

It would take the fleets a few days to reach their targets.

Simon used this time to repair and refit the ships that he kept as they needed the new engines and generators to reach the Confederation space at the same time as the rest of the fleet. 

A few days later the time came for the small dose of revenge that the remnants of humanity wanted to see being carried out.

The A.I's dropped the relays in every uninhabited system that they made a stop in to refuel.

This was their way of escape after they accomplished their mission.

Simon,Mikael and Steuner even recorded some messages to the enemies that were about to feel their wrath.

The Attack was coordinated by Athena who also wanted some payback for the friends she lost when the planet that was given to them was destroyed from orbit.

She planned the route of the seven fleets so that they would be able to attack simultaneously.

She knew that the main objective was to ensure that everyone believed this to be the last stand of humanity and their revenge.

Everyone in the fleet was watching as their small act of vengeance was being carried out and even if they knew that this was a suicide mission they still hoped that the fleets would inflict the maximum damage to their enemies.

Simon and all the other admirals and captains hoped that this plan worked and the galaxy would forget about them for the time they needed to rebuild their civilizations.

If it all went according to plan then the next time anyone would hear about humanity.

Would be the time that they choose to come back and exterminate all of their enemies without leaving them any hope of ever rebuilding.

For now however everyone was looking at their screens as the show was about to start and they would have a small taste of revenge.
