Chapter 11 The Death world.

She was speechless, just how many things could go wrong on a simple reconnaissance mission?

Not only did her ship malfunction but she also crashed on a junk planet which was far away from any shipping lanes so even if she activated the distress beacon in her fighter it would take a while before they sent an extraction team for her.

-Did you activate the distress beacon in my ship?

-Sorry like I said before we cant translate your writing so no we didn't.

Simon answered apologetically.

-Then can you take me to my ship?

She asked.

-We can do that but you just woke up after two days so for now get some rest.

-Don't worry about me, the medicine I just took will heal me up in a few moments.

She wasn't kidding a few minutes later she was able to get out of bed.

When she did that however she fell to her knees.

-What's with the gravity on this planet?

She asked.

-Are you from a low gravity world?

Simon asked her when he figured out what was going on.

-I grew up in a standard galactic gravity and this here is at least two or three times that.

She said, trying to stand up.

She felt that her body felt heavy but she attributed it to the accident and her injuries.

-Well this much gravity is still less than what we have on earth.

-You want to tell me that your world gravity is even higher than this?

She was in disbelief .

-Yes it is.

He confirmed.

-Are you from a death world or something?

-I don't know what a death world is so I can't answer that.

He said, not understanding what she was talking about.

-A death world is a planet with a high gravity, poisonous fauna or flora, unpredictable weather patterns, unstable tectonic activity, large predators, harmful viruses and bacteria.

Any of those make a planet a death world.

-If you put it like that then yes earth is a death world, we have all of the things you mentioned on my planet.

Simon confirmed her suspicions.

-You have to be kidding me right now. How the hell did your species manage to survive?

-We adapted to all of it.

She was now truly in shock.According to what she knew there was no way for a sentient species to survive on such a hellish world but the proof stood right before her.

-Let's change the topic for now.

She said in hopes of avoiding a headache .

-Can you bring me to my ship?

-Yes I can but can you walk to the shuttle by yourself?

He asked while noticing that she had a problem with even standing.

-With some help I should manage that.

-Then wait for a while. I just need to call my friend over.

He left after those words.

A few minutes later he came back with Mikael in tow.

Simon introduced them and then they decided how to transport her to her ship.

The old man was designated a pilot this time while Simon carried Alessia princess style inside the shuttle.

Mikael even joked that they looked quite cute together which made Simon blush a little.

-How did you manage to get this museum piece to fly?

She asked when she recognized the ship as an outdated shuttle that she once saw in a history book.

-Actually all we had to do was to translate the controls, power her up and get some water for fuel.

Mikael explained.

Simon put her down in the copilot seat.

She took a look around the cockpit and it was ancient to her.

-So are you a pilot?

She asked the old man.

-We both managed to learn how to fly this ship just a few weeks ago so i think we both qualify as pilots.

When she heard that her skin tone went lighter, any of her species would recognise this as a distress reaction.

In other words she turned pale.

-Are you saying that you taught yourself how to fly this thing?

She was getting concerned about her safety.

-Actually it was Simon who learned it first and then he taught me how to do it.

Mikael said with a smile.

Just great, she was flying over the junk planet with two death worlders who were self taught pilots and in an antique.

She was seriously starting to regret volunteering for this mission.

A few minutes later they landed right next to the wreck of her ship.

Simon carried her again which earned him some snide remarks from the old man.

-Put me into the pilot's seat.

She said.

The moment he did what she asked she pressed a button under her arm rest and small metallic objects covered her body just to turn into something like a space suit.

Both of the men were stunned at this sight.

-This is a nano power suit. It will help me with the gravity on this planet.

She explained when she saw that they were shocked.

Then she proceeded to flip some switches but there was no effect.

Then she climbed out of the cockpit and went to a place right behind it.

-Damn it! She yielded while hitting her hand against the wreck.

-What happened?

Simon asked.

-My power source is in pieces and the batteries are dead so i cant send the distress call.

She said with frustration in her voice.

-Do you know how to connect it to another power source?

Mikael asked, taking a look.

-I'm a pilot not a technician.

She shook her head.

Simon came closer to take a look.

-I think we can use the fighter that we powered up first to try and make it work.

He said after some time assessing the state of the device.

-You actually powered up a fighter?

Alesia was shocked once again.

-Yes we did and even if it can't fly ,I think that it should be able to power up this beacon of yours.

The young man replied.

-There is no way that this device can be connected to another craft; they are simply incompatible.

-I can't promise you that this will work but it's still better to try and fail than to just give up.

He said with a smile.
