Chapter 3

'Cheeky young devil!' Jonas West glared at a closed door. 'One day am going to really give him his marching orders.'

'And you'll never get such a talented cameraman again,' Natalie reminded him as she came to sit by his desk. 'You've got to admit, Dad, you lay it on thick. That's the third pep talk this week on that particular subject.'

'Necessary.' He beetled his thick brows at her and did a bit more glaring. 'Whose side are you on anyway?'

'I have to be neutral.' She laughed up at him, tossing back her black long hair. 'Being the daughter of the boss has certain disadvantages.'

'And certain advantages,' he reminded her with a keen look. 'Just one word from you and I'll get rid of Neil Bradshaw. I'll get rid of the girl too.'

Neither of them were smiling now, and Natalie looked away from the eyes that saw every expression that crossed her face.

'We've been over this, Dad. Everyone has a right to change of heart. With Neil it wasn't even that because we weren't engaged or anything like it. He simply fell in love with Paula, and who can blame him? She's a very nice girl. He told me straight out with no deceit whatever.'
