Juliet had already seen through what Jacqueline wanted to do " Could you stop pretending, you act like you care for her but you actually don't, why are you behaving like this?, the first time she tripped was because your leg was in the way, this time it is because of you. What do you intend to achieve ".

Everybody looked at Juliet as she talked, Mary was surprised at the fact that Juliet talked. After Juliet talked Jacqueline started crying, she was putting on a pitiful front anyone who saw her would not know that she could actually do such.

" I didn't do any of the things you accused me of, why would I do that, Mary has been my friend since a long time ago. Do you think I could do such a thing. Did you invite me to the party just to insult me". She sounded so pitiful that even Hannah did not believe Juliet.

"Alright, you didn't do it let's just forget about the matter and continue" said Mary as she tried to move on with the party.

Jacqueline knew she couldn't continue with hurting Mary physically so she decided to hurt her with her words.

After a while, they were done with their meal and decided to catch up in each others life. They started gradually from after graduation high school to going to college when Jacqueline suddenly said " I heard that Mr. Morrison also got married ". Mr. Morrison was their Mathematics teacher when they were in college, at that time they were rumor that Mr. Morrison and Mary were dating. This rumour circulated because Mr. Morrison favoured Mary the most in their class, a fact which Jacqueline hated.

After Jacqueline mentioned Mr. Morrison, Mary went pale. Although nothing happened between she and the man, she was almost expelled from the school, she was neglected to a point were she almost committed suicide. Seeing Mary's expression Jacqueline felt happy, she was feeling good about it so she continued " Mary, you don't need to remember those times, even though Mr. Morrison is always asking you to wait behind after class I know you can't do such a thing, back then you were poor and you got into our college miraculously so people might have thought that ..." she didn't continue talking as she knew others got the hint.

Mary's expression got paper, at that time she was poor and got into that college because of a scholarship, she hated the fact that the rich kids looked at her like she was a kind of plague, she would be isolated by almost all the students except for a few girls who genuinely liked her. Mr Morrison always asked her to stay behind because her mathematics was not that good and if she failed she would lose the scholarship which was why Mr. Morrison decided to help her, unfortunately it led to trouble for the both of them.

Jacqueline was really excited seeing Mary like that ,she was about to continue when Juliet said " doesn't matter though, you as her friend knew she could never do that, you know that has always been her sore spot still yet you brought it up makes me wonder what kind of friend you are".

Mary was stunned as she never expected Juliet to stand up for her, her friends also started agreeing leaving Jacqueline in an awkward situation. She just looked at Juliet with a harsh expression and didn't say anything till the party was over.
