Advancing to the next round

The next day arrived and everyone was up and ready.The questions this time were going to be harder and unpredictable,each teammate has to be able to fully understand each question before being able to solve them.

Just like before Juliet shared the questions among the members and they started answering them.This time they did not finish it fast as it was tougher than last time.

Finally they submitted and like before they left the stage.The other teams also submitted and waited for the results.

Everyone was nervous except for Juliet,some of the girls started crying thinking they lost the competition.

* We better start packing up,at least at least we one the first round* said principal danny.

" Wow,this was tough,unfortunately scholars are the one who are going to be leaving the competition today ,please pack your luggages from the building and..."

Before the announcer could continue,someone wlked up to him and whispered into his ears.

" Just receiving news that bright stars cheated in the competition and according to the rules they are disqualified, so the teams advancing today are Academia and Desmond group,looking forward to see who wins the competition ".

Shouts of jubilee came from Desmond team.Everyone was happy that they were able to advance to the next level,it was an unexpected victory.

Ariana on the other hand was stunned that Desmond the advanced to the next level.A team mate of hers moved closer to her and said " If this continues we might actually lose the competition and we don't want that.We have to do something about it".

Ariana thought of what her partner said and left .Ariana's father was one of the sponsors of the competition ever since she got to the competition her team had received extra care.

Ariana took out her brand new phone since she broke her last one when she was angry at Juliet to call her father.

" Daddy I'm really sad right now " said Ariana

Her father who was willingly to spoil her rotten immediately replied

" What's wrong babycakes,what do you need tell daddy and daddy will make it available ".

" I really want to win this competition but there is this team that is challenging,i don't know what to do daddy,could you help me please"

" Don't worry babycakes,i will make sure you win,just make sure you get enough rest."

" Thank you daddy,I love you " said Ariana

" You are welcome babycakes" replied her father before hanging up.

Ariana stood in that spot for a while before leaving to join her team mates.

Juliet and her team mates were still celebrating the fact that their team advanced to the final round when principal danny came.

" Wow you guys really surprised me with your performance,i really didn't expect this to happen.Now we are just one match away from the championship ".

" Thank you principal danny " replied the team mates.

They all chatted for a while before Andrew brought up a matter.

" I have been wondering for so long how Nathan and Susan are related,i don't mean anything but you guys don't share the same surname and you don't behave like siblings in the class room".

When Andrew said this,Susan and Nathan stopped smiling.

Susan knew she could not avoid this matter so she just said it out loud

" Actually,Nathan is my step brother his mum got married to my dad after my mother died.I use my mum's surname in other to remember her around while Nathan uses my father's own ".

"Then why don't you guys behave like siblings " asked Laura.

" Well Susan wants to be known in the school for her own capability and nit that she had a rich father so she begged me to not say anything about our relationship" Nathan said.

Susan listened to what he said without a change in her facial expressions,she knew he was lying to save himself some face but she did not expose him.

" Ohh,that makes a lot of sense now " replied Emmanuel.

" If you will all excuse me,i have to go get something from the room i will be right back " said Susan wanting to get away from the place as fast as possible.

Seeing Susan leaving Juliet knew that something was wrong so she followed Susan and her suspicion was right as she met Susan crying in the room.
