"So." I begin. "It's been like 4 hours and Toji still is not here. What do we do?" I stare at Grandpa's crimson eyes as he contemplates what to do next. "Well how about we have another drinking party?" I shake my head and decline his offer for the 46th time. The bartender is sleeping on the table it seemd Toji bought this place just for himself wonder how he got the money. 'How did he get those weapons too. I know he is not a sorcerer because of his restriction. So what's his job?'
"How! This must be rigged!" Grandpa shouted out as his piece once again fell down the snake. "Skill issue." I reply. I shake the die and throw it onto the table. 4. I move my piece straight piece straight to 100. "6th win in a row. When will you ever get good?" I say. As I stare at him as if I know don't what do. He grits his teeth at such a look. "Wel-"
BANG! "I could hear you quarrel outside. Shut up." Toji walks in, as rude as ever. Grandpa stood up. "Sachi is here to ask you a question. This may be the last time we meet each other." Toji doesn't even spare a glance towards us, he just gets his usual drink from the bartender and sits down. I watch the wine swim in his glass as he moves it around with his hand. "What is it Sachi." I stare at him as he continues to twirl his glass.
"Take me as your disciple!"
He does not seem shocked at my words and neither does Grandpa. "You've already seen how I've grown ever since I first challenged you." Not one of them makes any gesture to reveal their inner thoughts. 'And now time to ask this.' "Do you still consider me a burden?" He stops twirling his glass and looks up at me with his eyes similar to an unreadable abyss. "You are weak." An undeniable truth. The room seems a bit warmer than before. "You still try hard. So at least you've got that going for you. "During all these battle I've noticed you copy your grandfather's cursed technique too much." He stops and takes a sip of his drink. "Yet during that last battle you showed you could be flexible and a strategist. Your senses have also seemed to have gotten better. You displayed a more unique use of your telekinesis as well." This time he takes a long drink of his wine. He sighs. "You are still a burden." My entire being shrank internally. At that moment I felt worthless. He opened his mouth again. "Potential is all you really have."
I tried hard. But... it wasn't good enough. Simply working hard won't give you everything. As I sat there contemplating my future decisions I look up at Toji once again. I wasn't mad,sad or hateful. I was determined. 'He didn't accept me beacuse I was weak. So all I need to do is become stronger. I get up and go to the door. Grandpa follows behind me. "I'll show you soon enough. I won't stay weak. Eventually I'll become The Strongest. "
"Heh." Tojj let's out a small chuckle. With an amused smile he says. "Do your best Sachi. I'll keep waiting." I will become The Strongest no matter what ANYONE thinks!
"Sachi dear?" I don't pay much attention to Grandpa's voice or his expression. Absentmindedly, I reply. "I'm good." Currently, I am outside the mansion in the training grounds training my body. I wipe the small cut on my cheek as I ready my body once more. Unlike before where I would apply energy to my body I am simply dodging the attacks without using my power. The flame knife once again came close to my face. As this time I made sure to properly dodge it. It whizzed past me but suddenly changed directions and went to my head. Two more were going for my legs. Readying my body I do a small spin flip dodging the knives below and just being low enough for the flame knife to go past me. "Faster."
In a flash 8 flame knives appear at the same time and they race towards me. I run to them sliding under the top ones and bending my body at angled so the other attacks miss. My foot tingles. I leap away from the area only to see a small explosion of fire. 'I should try something new.' Using my psychic powers I lift myself off the ground and start flying through the air.
'Currently 35 meters off ground. A good improvement.' Sensing something odd I quickly fly farther up. A blur of red and orange zooms by. 'This is getting better.' A massive flame ball raced towards after lifting off the ground. I could see a tinge of blue. 'The past me would just have brute forced this but now.' I lift my index finger and concentrate on a single area on it. I materialise a spinning green orb. Boom! The moment I released it the air itself seemed to have gotten whipped. It zoomed towards the flame ball and went straight into it. My hand was clenched like a fist until I opened it. BOOM! A smile slithered it's way across my face. "Heh." I wiped off the building sweat with my hands. 'These past few months have been good improvement. I can lift and create objects while flying. Although my speed when flying need improvement.' I slowly descend to the ground. "You've done wonderful Sachi dear. But no training tomorrow." Grandpa uses my towel and rubs it all over my face. I nod through the fluff. 'Tommorow I will be nine years old...hooray.' After Grandpa stops wiping my face I head towards the mansion. I have business to attend to. I tread up the stairs and to my bathroom.
After finishing my shower naturally I ventured back to where it all began. My lab! I look over the spear on the table. 'Of course I've got no clue what the grade is but I must say it looks pretty clean.' I stare at the head, specifically my reflection. 'The metal does not seem unfinished or bent so that's a plus.' After scanning it over for a few more minutes I walk over to my wall where only one weapon lay. 'The knife since its my first. It should be remembered.' Looking under the knife I get my tools and my trusty J absorb. I proceed back to the spear. I look it over once more. Its handle is a simple brown and just before you reach the head you see blue stripes at the top. The metal head is a shiny silver. "Grandpa!" I call out. He's here within seconds. He picked up the spear and Infused his cursed energy. Once again the air turned wavy. 'Perhaps I'll be able to see cursed energy soon if I keep training. I know for a fact Toji can do it.' "Just about grade 3." Grandpa said with a smile. I nodded and took back the spear and put it on its resting stand. I shook the J absorb and prepared myself.
