Moving On

Yuta swiftly activated Simple Domain in an attempt to shield himself from Kenjaku's sure-hit effect; however, it was too late to fully deploy his own domain. In desperation, he wore the ring and summoned Rika. Yet, since the real Rika's curse had been lifted, this new incarnation of Rika would last only five minutes. Within that time frame, Yuta needed to either escape or defeat Kenjaku.

"I am not the same sorcerer I was months ago," Yuta thought, steeling himself as his Simple Domain was obliterated. The sure-hit effect struck him, causing severe injuries instantly. Gritting his teeth, Yuta ran, simultaneously running the Reverse Cursed Technique to heal. Since Kenjaku's Domain was open, Yuta managed to escape, albeit with heavy injuries.

Simultaneously, as Kenjaku was about to give chase, Rika appeared behind her, tanking Kenjaku's sure-hit effects but dealing moderate damage in return.

"You hurt YUTA!" she roared, attacking Kenjaku.

"An independent cursed spirit? Shikigami?" Kenjaku mused, skillfully dodging Rika's onslaught and deciding to cancel his domain as Yuta Okkotsu had managed to escape. Now, he prepared to fight in the old-fashioned way.

Just as Rika lunged at Kenjaku, she was suddenly trapped in ice.

Uraume appeared and addressed Kenjaku: "This plan of yours had better bear fruit, Kenjaku."

"I am certain it will," Kenjaku responded confidently. "Senju Hiroshi, Gojo Satoru, and Suguru Geto are out of the country. Aside from Gojo Satoru and Suguru Geto, Senju Hiroshi does not offer nor extend security treatment to any other sorcerer... and Yuta Okkotsu's Cursed Technique, which involves copying, will suffice, although obtaining Suguru Geto's body would have been ideal."

As Kenjaku and Uraume conversed, the forest beneath them stirred to life.

"Shinboku no Jumon: Deep Forest Emergence," Yuta invoked.

Kenjaku effortlessly dodged the forest and observed, "It's not at the scale of Senju Hiroshi's."

Having witnessed the Battle For the Strongest a few years ago, Kenjaku realized that Yuta could not wield the full power of the Spell of the Divine Tree. "Is it because he is not of the Senju bloodline, or is it something else?" he pondered.

"Tsk, she's not taking me seriously... I have to somehow inform Gojo and Geto Sensei about what's happening here," Yuta thought, watching Kenjaku effortlessly dodge around, almost like a tourist.

"But that's enough for now," Kenjaku declared, turning his attention back to Yuta. "Don't struggle; you have already lost," she said as the gravity around Yuta began to intensify.

"She's applying cursed energy to gravity, enabling her to control it... If my theory is correct," Yuta realized as he attempted to copy Kenjaku's Cursed Technique.

"Hmm?" Kenjaku noticed the gravity manipulation being countered by a similar technique. "Did he manage to copy it?" she wondered.

"Shinboku no Jumon: Wood Dragon Jutsu," Yuta decided that trying to counter Kenjaku's gravity would only result in a stalemate, one that was not in his favor. Thus, he ceased the anti-gravity and reverted to the Spell of the Divine Tree.

Kenjaku dodged the Wood Dragon and unleashed a devastating attack, "Piercing Blood!"

A high-pressure beam of blood shot toward Yuta, but before he could evade, his feet were frozen, unbeknownst to him, by Uraume.

"End of the line," she calmly declared as Rika broke free from her icy confines and launched a ferocious assault against Uraume and Kenjaku.

The Piercing Blood struck Yuta straight in the heart. Simultaneously, Yuta attempted to heal using the Reverse Cursed Technique.

"Silence, cursed spirit," Kenjaku commanded as Rika became ensnared in chains. Yuta recognized these chains with dread—they were the same ones used by the God of Sorcerers to restrain Rika.

Darkness... was the last thing Yuta Okkotsu felt, and then nothing.

Kenjaku chuckled, "Hehehe," for he had discovered the potential of Yuta Okkotsu's technique.

Uraume then spoke, "Why are you laughing, Kenjaku? We have to go, lest the Senju realize the abnormality here."

Kenjaku shared, "This Cursed Technique... I take my words back. Suguru Geto's cursed technique pales in comparison to Yuta Okkotsu's. To be able to copy virtually anything with proper understanding or a piece of flesh from the target sorcerer... Okkotsu can copy... I can copy," Kenjaku explained.

But then he gazed at the still-chained Rika, "But all cursed techniques copied are stored in you," Kenjaku thought for a moment.

"Yuta... you are not... Yuta," Rika struggled to no avail.

Kenjaku then took a Binding Vow, "I can no longer use my innate cursed technique to copy and take cursed techniques. In exchange, all my copied techniques will be borne by my mind, and this doll will simply be a near-infinite tank of cursed energy," Kenjaku declared, monologuing to himself as Uraume listened to his rambling.

At this moment, Kenjaku doubled down on his plan. With the discovery of Yuta Okkotsu's technique, he had taken a Binding Vow to transfer the storage capability of Rika to himself so that he could bypass the need to use Rika, given the cursed spirit's refusal to obey him.

Now, Kenjaku could no longer hop bodies as long as he wished to keep the Binding Vow intact.

As Kaori Itadori's body fell, a new body rose... Kenjaku had become stronger.

Kenjaku then raised his hand and absorbed Rika into a black orb, which he swallowed. Now, with control over Rika, Kenjaku virtually had infinite cursed energy.

"Let's go, Uraume," Kenjaku said as they disappeared into the shadows of the forest.

Although Kenjaku could break his Binding Vow now that he had control over Rika using Cursed Technique Manipulation, he preferred to keep his cursed technique on himself rather than in external storage.

"What now, Kenjaku?" Uraume asked.

"And now, we wait... with how the Jujutsu Higher-ups are moving, it will not take long before a civil war breaks out, and that will be our chance," Kenjaku replied.

"Can't we defeat Senju Hiroshi, Suguru Geto, and Gojo Satoru now with your cursed technique?" Uraume inquired.

"No, even with this cursed technique, I might still have problems against Suguru Geto. Gojo Satoru is impossible without bypassing infinity, and then there's him..." Kenjaku's voice trailed off as he thought of the sorcerer standing atop the world.

Senju Hiroshi, the God of Sorcerers.

--------------

A few minutes later, a squad of Senju Sorcerers arrived to investigate. They found a brain and Kaori Itadori's body, the skull hollowed out.

"Report: quite possibly a murder case by a sorcerer. Traces of battle can be found, cursed energy signatures all over the place," the squad leader analyzed.

"Someone put that brain in a jar, and bring it back to base. Perhaps we can still save it, or we can find out who the culprit is," he ordered, and the sorcerers swiftly worked to carry out his instructions.

--------------

As the trio returned home, Hiroshi received a call from his uncle.

"This is Hiroshi... Yo, Oji, that's rather rare," he said.

"Hiroshi, glad to know you're still nonchalant as ever... but there's news I received that Yuta Okkotsu has disappeared in Sapporo after being sent on a mission by the Jujutsu Higher-ups," Hiroto Senju said.

Hiroshi looked at Satoru and Suguru, who were listening in. Suguru showed the most emotion of the trio, as he had the most interactions with Yuta Okkotsu.

"So, the Higher-ups are the traitors... that's an all-time low for them," Satoru remarked.

"I'm sorry, Suguru. I did not take into account Yuta's safety," Hiroshi said solemnly.

"No... It's okay, Hiroshi. What's important is to figure out if Yuta is still alive or who attacked him," Suguru replied.

"No one else but Kenjaku," Hiroshi stated, continuing, "Kaori Itadori's body was found with the skull hollowed out, the woman you were fighting a few months ago."

"So Yuta is dead..." Suguru said.

"No, not really. His brain is still here, kept in suspended animation," Hiroshi clarified.

"That's dead, honestly," Satoru interjected.

"Satoru!" Suguru chided.

Hiroshi's expression turned grave as he spoke. "It's true that he's not entirely wrong, but he's not entirely right either. Reviving Yuta is still possible, either by my hand or Shoko's. However, we must first recover his body."

"What about the Higher-ups? Shall we purge them now?" Satoru asked.

"We can, then the rest of the Sorcerer world will fear us, which is both good and bad. Good, since they will obey due to fear; bad in the long run, since they will be on the moral high ground, ripe for rebellions and all that," Hiroshi explained.

"Then what do you propose we do?" Satoru asked, his frustration evident in his tone due to his inability to simply push the Sorcerer World to his whims.

In this timeline, the weight of the world is not borne by Satoru Gojo alone, but by three people, his closest friends. This arrangement allowed his personality to dedicate the thinking of the repercussions of their actions to Hiroshi and Suguru.

"Let the Jujutsu Higher-ups begin the trouble; let them initiate it, thus we can retaliate righteously and sweep their clans directly. And for this to happen, we shall give them a stage," Hiroshi said, laying out his plan.

Satoru and Suguru nodded in agreement.

"In the meantime, let's see what Kenjaku has in store for us... and it's also Megumi's birthday tomorrow. Gifts?" Hiroshi shifted the conversation to a lighter note.

"I got him souvenirs from Thailand," Satoru said, showing a bag of sweets.

"Books," Suguru added.

"I got him a cursed tool," Hiroshi revealed.

As the serious conversation switched to a lighthearted nature, the scene cuts away.

February 2018,

Paris, France

Hiroshi and Shoko were taking a selfie at the peak of the Eiffel Tower.

"Smile," Hiroshi prompted, just as Shoko planted a kiss on his cheek as the photo was taken.

"Sneaky," Hiroshi commented with a smirk, returning the gesture with a smooch.

Giggling came from Shoko as Hiroshi moved towards her neck. "That tickles," she laughed.

"Where to next?" Shoko asked.

"Luxembourg Gardens. We can take a stroll or something," Hiroshi suggested.

"Are you sure leaving your students in Kyoto is a good idea?" Shoko inquired.

"It's fine. Utahime can take over, and then there's Kusakabe. They will be fine. At worst, Todo can take over and lead the team... if there's no events for his favorite idol," Hiroshi reasoned.

"But you left Tokyo to be with me, hmm?" Hiroshi smirked.

"Unlike you, I filed leave from Sensei, not Mr. Leave It to His Subordinates," Shoko teased as she clung closer, Hiroshi's hand on her waist as they strolled.

### June, 2018

Megumi approached an outbox, frustration clear in his expression.

"This is stupid, keeping a Special Grade Curse in a place like this," Megumi said on the phone as he opened the outbox.

And found nothing inside.

"It's not here," Megumi said, his frustration growing.

"What? That's hilarious!" Gojo Satoru's nonchalant voice and chuckling could be heard over the phone.

Annoyed by his sensei's nonchalance, Megumi retorted, "I'm gonna punch you."

"Haha! You can't... Perhaps it went out for a walk at night. Being stuffed in a box makes you stuffy, you know," Satoru joked.

"I'm serious, Sensei," Megumi insisted.

"Well, don't come back without it," Satoru replied.

"Good luck, Megumi," Suguru Geto encouraged as the call ended.

Megumi sighed, thinking, "Tsk, where could that finger be?" The shadows beneath his feet began to wriggle.

"Rabbit: Totality Beast - Raiju," he commanded. This totality beast took the form of a small brown rabbit that could emit lightning and fly, making it excellent for reconnaissance.

"Eliminate cursed spirits and find the Special Grade Curse in the vicinity," Megumi instructed mentally as his Totality Beast moved through the shadows with lightning speed.

And since Megumi Fushiguro is far stronger than the original, the trio had told him whose finger he was searching for. "Ryomen Sukuna's finger, the King of Curses... I wonder who is stronger, Hiroshi-sensei or this King of Curses?" Megumi thought as he arrived at a rugby field. "What's with this rugby field?" he wondered, as he saw Yuji Itadori throw a metal ball and bend it with sheer force. "That's impressive, without cursed energy," Megumi noted as he continued searching. "Maybe I should close the school off?" he considered.

4:30 PM

As Megumi walked, he was bumped into by Yuji. In that moment, Megumi felt the cursed energy signature of his target.

"Wait!" Megumi called out, but Yuji ran faster than a car and was already gone.

"Damn, is he a car?" a bystander exclaimed.

"Apparently he runs the 50-meter distance in 3 seconds. The man is superhuman," were the thoughts of the bystanders.

"Good thing I had Raiju keep an eye on him," Megumi thought as he began to follow.

In Sugisawa Hospital, Megumi found Yuji filling out a form.

"Well, that's all the documents I need," Yuji said.

"Okay, thank you for your care," the nurse replied.

"Are you really okay?" the nurse asked.

"It's the first time I'm experiencing a loss, so maybe it doesn't feel like it's real yet. But my grandpa's going to get mad at me for frowning so much. I'll just smile while I burn him up," Yuji said.

"Don't say it like that," the nurse chided as Yuji finished.

"Yuji Itadori, correct?" Megumi asked.

"I'm Fushiguro Megumi from Jujutsu High. I am sorry, but there's no time. Please hand over the cursed object in your hand," Megumi requested urgently.

Then, Megumi began to explain the danger of the curse to Yuji as he showed him a photo from his phone.

"I don't really mind giving it back, but my senpai took a liking to it..." Yuji said as he took a box from his pocket.

"Hand it over before anyone dies," Megumi said, his tone serious.

"Like I said, I don't really care," Yuji replied as he threw the box to Megumi.

As Megumi opened the box, there was no finger inside.

"I chased this empty box... lingering cursed energy... damn," Megumi muttered.

"WHERE ARE THE CONTENTS!" Megumi shouted, prompting Yuji to shout back.

"LIKE I SAID, MY SENPAI HAS IT!"

"WHERE ARE THEY?"

"They mentioned peeling it off the school tonight," Yuji explained.

Megumi looked at Yuji, silent with a solemn look. "Is that bad?"

"Not just bad, they will die!" Megumi exclaimed as he bolted back to the school.

As they arrived outside the school, Megumi turned to Yuji.

"You stay here," Megumi instructed.

"I'm coming too! It's dangerous, right?" Yuji insisted.

"Even though I just met them for only a few months, they are my friends, so I can't just leave it alone," Yuji explained.

"Stay here," Megumi said with finality, determined to handle the situation himself.

As Megumi ran in, a shout startled him, "Ahhhhhh!"

In front of him, a cursed spirit appeared. "Weak cursed spirits attack in groups," Megumi noted as he summoned his Totality-Merged Beasts.

"Tiger: Totality-Merged Beast Qirin!"

"Nue: Totality-Merged Beast Chimera!"

A massive white tiger and a chimera tore through the cursed spirits, buildings and all.

"...Shit... I guess I'll be paying for it," Megumi thought, realizing that using Qirin and Chimera was overkill for these cursed spirits.

While Chimera and Qirin slaughtered the cursed spirits below, Megumi arrived on the top floors and saw a cursed spirit attempting to consume a woman. Just as Megumi was about to move and attack, Yuji smashed through the windows and rescued his senpai. Simultaneously, Megumi dispatched the cursed spirit easily.

Then, he turned to Yuji. "Normally, I'd be pissed, but good job."

"Why are you so high and mighty?" Yuji asked.

Then, Yuji turned to the massive Qirin eating the cursed spirit. "What's that white tiger eating?" he asked.

"A cursed spirit, and that's my Shinigami," Megumi explained. "Can you see it? Normally, people can't see a curse."

"Only when you're on your deathbed or in this particular situation," Megumi added.

"Oh, really? I've never seen a ghost before," Yuji remarked.

"Aren't you scared?" Megumi inquired.

"I was really scared. But you know, humans will really die... So I should at least let the person I know get the right death," Yuji replied.

"I see," Megumi nodded as he picked up the finger.

"Is that it?" Yuji asked.

"Yes, the Special Grade Cursed Object Ryomen Sukuna, at least part of it," Megumi confirmed.

"Ryomen wh-" Yuji started, but was interrupted as a cursed spirit attacked him.

Megumi pushed Yuji away as Qirin protected him, while Chimera bit the cursed spirit and began brawling with it.

Yuji emerged from the rubble and shouted, "You okay?"

The four-armed cursed spirit, which was losing to Chimera, noticed Yuji and lunged at him, attempting to escape while holding Yuji hostage.

Megumi stood in front of the cursed spirit, flanked by Chimera and Qirin.

"Hostage? You're joking. Kill it," Megumi commanded, his tone firm.

Yuji looked at the cursed spirit holding him hostage, his grandfather's words echoing in his mind: "Help people."

"Hey! You!" Yuji shouted while being carried around by the cursed spirit. "How do I kill this thing?" he asked Megumi.

"A cursed spirit can only be exorcised by cursed energy. Seeing as you don't have any, just relax. I'll rescue you soon," Megumi reassured him as Chimera and Qirin began chasing the cursed spirit around the campus.

"So I just need cursed energy..." Yuji felt an object in his pocket—the cursed object—and ate it in one go.

Megumi saw this in the distance and shouted, "Wait! Don't!" But it was too late as he watched Yuji consume the cursed object.

"The finger is a Special Grade Cursed Object, a lethal poison," Megumi realized.

He called back Chimera and Qirin, flanking him, and watched as Yuji became unconscious. "Is he dead?" Megumi wondered, knowing there was a one in a million chance of Ryomen Sukuna incarnating.

Noticing that Qirin and Chimera had stopped chasing, the cursed spirit paused, watching Megumi and his shikigami. Instantly, the cursed spirit was torn apart.

Tweaked laughter could be heard from Yuji.

"Hehehehehe....hahahahahahah... I KNEW IT! LIGHT IS BEST FELT IN THE FLESH!" Sukuna exclaimed.

Megumi saw this and thought, "What are the odds of Ryomen Sukuna incarnating? Must be an unlucky day."

"A cursed spirit's flesh is no fun! Bring out the PEOPLE! WOMEN!" Sukuna demanded.

"Hehehehehe.... what a wonderful age this is, women and children spawning like maggots!" Sukuna continued, ecstatic.

"WONDERFUL! IT WILL BE A MASSACRE!" Sukuna declared, placing his hands on his face.

But then Sukuna realized that he wasn't in full control of his body.

"What are you doing? Give it back!" Sukuna demanded as his own arm placed itself on his neck, Yuji retorted.

"How are you able to move?" Sukuna asked, baffled by the fact that he was not in full control of his inhabited body.

"Um... it's my body, you know," Yuji replied.

Megumi saw Sukuna stop briefly and began chanting immediately. "With this treasure I summon..."

"If there's one thing my Mentors taught me... it's that when fighting the unknown, fight with all I've got," Megumi thought as the Dharma Wheel appeared behind him.

"Do not move! You're no longer human, thus under the Jujutsu regulations, Yuji Itadori, I will exorcise you!" Megumi declared with determination.
