Chapter 7: Nobara Kugisaki

As they made their way through the bustling streets of Tokyo towards the station, Yuji couldn't shake the question that had been lingering in his mind. Glancing at Megumi, he decided to voice his curiosity.

"Hey, Megumi," Yuji began, a contemplative look in his eyes, "I've been wondering. Why are there only three students in our first year? It seems kinda... sparse."

Megumi, walking alongside Yuji, adjusted his glasses thoughtfully. "It's not the usual enrollment number, that's for sure. Jujutsu High usually has more students. But this year, it's just you, Nobara, and me."

Yuji frowned, processing the information. "Is it because of the whole cursed spirits situation, or is there something else going on?"

Megumi's gaze turned distant for a moment before he responded. "It's partly due to the rising cursed activity, but there's more to it. Some potential students might have chosen different paths, and others might not have survived the initial encounters with curses."

Yuji's expression shifted to one of concern. "Survived? This jujutsu stuff is no joke, huh?"

Megumi nodded solemnly. "It's a dangerous world out there. Not everyone has the strength or resolve to face curses. Many potential students end up reconsidering their decision after a taste of the harsh reality."

As they continued their conversation, Gojo walked slightly ahead, seemingly absorbed in his own thoughts. Yuji couldn't help but wonder about the instructor's role in shaping the dynamics of the first-year class.

"Speaking of which," Yuji continued, "what's the deal with Gojo-sensei? He seems... unique."

Megumi let out a small, almost imperceptible sigh. "Gojo-sensei is a Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer and one of the strongest in the world. He has his own way of doing things, and not everyone agrees with his methods. But he's effective, and he gets results."

Yuji raised an eyebrow. "Effective, huh? I did notice he has a flair for the dramatic. Is that common around here?"

Megumi's lips twitched into a brief, reluctant smile. "Gojo-sensei is in a league of his own when it comes to drama. But the world of jujutsu sorcery is filled with all sorts of characters. You'll get used to it."

As they approached the Tokyo station, Gojo turned around, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You two seem deep in conversation. Everything alright?"

"Yeah, sensei," Yuji replied with a nod, "just trying to understand the ropes around here. It's a bit different from my previous school."

Gojo chuckled, patting Yuji on the back. "Well, you'll find that jujutsu sorcery is a whole new world. And I'm here to show you the ropes, the flashy way, of course."

I like this guy, even though he sometimes sounds weird, he has a good fashion sense. And that blindfold really suits him; I approve. Yuji nodded.

"What are you thinking?" Megumi asked, seeing Yuji nod to himself.

"Nothing, I was just thinking about uniforms. It's a perfect fit, but it's different from yours." Hearing Yuji, Gojo chipped in.

Megumi raised an eyebrow, curious about the sudden interest in uniforms. "Different from mine? What do you mean?"

Yuji gestured to his attire, "Well, yours has that traditional vibe. Mine feels more... modern? I was wondering if that's a thing here."

Gojo, overhearing their conversation, joined in with his usual flair. "Ah, the uniform talk! In Jujutsu High, we believe in embracing individuality. If you want some custom flair, you got it!"

Megumi, not overly concerned about his attire, remarked, "I'm fine with the traditional look. Keeps things simple."

Gojo chuckled, "Megumi here appreciates the classics. But, Yuji, if you want to spice up your uniform, we can make it happen. Capes, colors, maybe some stylish accessories!"

Yuji grinned at the thought. "Capes, huh? I could go for that." I could go for a wizard's look. But I don't think I can use magic without disrupting the flow of the world. *Sigh* What are the sacrifices I have to make for living a peaceful life.

Megumi rolled his eyes. "As long as it doesn't interfere with our jujutsu, I'm good."

Gojo winked, "Don't worry, Megumi. We'll make sure Yuji's fashion choices don't get you killed."

Nobara Kugisaki arrived in Tokyo, greeted by the vibrant chaos of the city. Megumi, Yuji, and Gojo were tasked with picking her up. As they approached, Gojo couldn't resist a dramatic entrance, teleporting in with his usual flair.

"Welcome to Tokyo, Nobara! Let me introduce to your colleagues, the one on right is Megumi and other is Yuji." Gojo declared, his grin infectious.

Nobara is of average height with a slim figure. She has mid-length brown hair that reaches to her neck that is styled with bangs that cover the right side of her forehead. She has orange eyes, long eyelashes and thin eyebrows of the same color.

Nobara's jujutsu school uniform consists of a dark blue gakuran-style top (a button-down jacket) and a long matching skirt that reaches to just above her knees. She also sports black stockings and brown shoes along with her signature brown belt that holds her tools.

Hearing Gojo, Nobara raised an eyebrow, unimpressed and looked at both of them and sigh.

*Sigh* "I'm always so unlucky, but lucky you, getting to hang out with a beautiful girl like me."

Megumi, always the calm presence, stepped forward. "Nobara, we're glad to have you on board. Tokyo is a different beast, but with us, you'll navigate it just fine."

Nobara smirked, already sizing up her new companions. "Let's get this over with. I didn't come here for sightseeing."

As they navigated the bustling streets, Gojo couldn't resist sharing his wisdom about Tokyo's quirks, much to Nobara's amusement and occasional eye rolls.

"Get ready for a rollercoaster of curses and adventures, Nobara. You're now part of a team that doesn't just face challenges—we conquer them!"

"As both you and Yuji are newcomers, let's do a tour of Tokyo." Gojo finished.

Nobara's gloomy expression transformed into a bright smile at Gojo's words. The prospect of exploring Tokyo with the eccentric and powerful sorcerer seemed to have lifted her spirits.

"Alright, Gojo-sensei, show us what Tokyo's got," she responded, her tone now more open and curious.

But Yuji on the didn't think that way,

Tour, come on, Gojo. Take us to some Curses. I'm really getting curious over here. Acting like a kid is tough. Yuji thought.

Of course, he could tell them that he wasn't Yuji and had the power to defend himself. Even though he hadn't verified the limits of the world's power, he was sure he could defend against any attacks the inhabitants of this world threw at him.

But he doesn't want a meaningless fight. In his prime, he waged countless wars and conquests, but in the end, he was left with a corpse and blood.

In this new world, he yearned for something different—a departure from the meaningless fights that had defined his previous existence. The desire for a more purposeful journey, free from the echoes of his conquests. Perhaps, this time, he could find the answer he was always looking for—a partner who can live along side with him.

Yuji hid his inner thoughts and replied. "This is gonna be awesome, Nobara! Tokyo has so much to offer, and with Gojo-sensei as our guide, it's bound to be unforgettable!"

Here goes nothing, Yuji thought, following Gojo's lead into the heart of the supernatural. Fashion-forward sensei, energetic classmates —this might just be the adventure I was looking for after a long time.
