Chapter 5: Jujutsu High

Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High is one of only two jujutsu-education facilities in the country (the facades of a private religious school).

Tokyo Jujutsu High serves not only as a training ground for the next generation of sorcerers but also as a headquarters for all alumni who have graduated to be full-fledged Jujutsu sorcerers as well. All sorcerers play a role in mentoring jujutsu students, whether in a teacher's role or accompanying them on missions. Weaker sorcerers are assigned the roles of windows, someone who can see curses but is not considered a full-fledged sorcerer or managers to contribute as well.

The jujutsu schools are considered the place for the community and provide mediation, general support, education, and shelter.

Arriving at the Jujutsu High, Yuji looked at the surrounding scenery.

There are several buildings built in a traditional Japanese architectural style, operating under the guise of a Buddhist temple.

There are a lot of trees around the property to further obscure the location. Some elements other than the buildings reflect the Buddhist theme. There are several statues of deities, shrines, and torii gates around the campus. There are several statues of deities, shrines, and torii gates around the campus.

Looking at the traditional buildings and statues of deities, Yuji recalled a similar world he had once reincarnated into.

"Where is Megumi? I haven't seen him since the incident." Yuji asked Gojo, who was right beside him.

"He fell asleep after coming to receive treatment for his injury," Gojo replied.

"Now then, First thing first, Yuji, you got an interview with the principal."

"Principal?" And here I was thinking he was the principal.

"Yes, if you mess things up, you might be rejected from admission. And if you don't get admission, your execution will proceed as planned." Gojo said.

While listening to Gojo, Yuji felt that his body started to transform, not his whole body but only around his face. Looking at who was responsible, Yuji noticed that it was none other than Sukuna influencing the physical body.

"What a disappointment, here I thought you were the leader. A hierarchy not based on strength is boring, don't you think so too, Yuji?"

As Sukuna's voice echoed within Yuji's consciousness, a wicked grin formed on the transformed part of Yuji's face.

Yeah, I won't answer that. And you agreed not to interfere with me. But Sukuna didn't reply to Yuji's question.

Gojo, ever perceptive, narrowed his eyes at the shifting dynamics. "Sukuna, always eager to make things interesting, huh?"

Sukuna's laughter resonated, blending with Yuji's internal thoughts. "Strength should reign supreme, Gojo. You of all people should understand."

"When I am released from this body, you will be the first one I kill." And you old fart, I will pay back the humiliation I suffered from your hands.

Hey, I am not old, I am just going through my puberty. Yuji said.

Hearing Sukuna's threat, Gojo smiled.

"Me? A target of Great Sukuna. What an honor?" Gojo's words caught Yuji's attention.

"Is he really famous?" Although Yuji introduced himself to Sukuna, Sukuna didn't even tell him anything. Because of this, other than his name, Yuji doesn't know a thing about Sukuna.

"In the ancient scrolls of Jujutsu, the legend of Sukuna echoes through the ages. Once a fearsome sorcerer, Sukuna's insatiable hunger for power led him down a dark path. Despite warnings, he delved into forbidden curses, ultimately becoming a Cursed Spirit of unimaginable strength.

"His rampage through the supernatural realm earned him the title "Ryomen Sukuna," a name whispered in both fear and awe. To this day, Jujutsu Sorcerers strive to contain the fragments of his malevolent soul scattered across cursed objects, preventing Sukuna's resurgence and maintaining the precarious balance between the living and the cursed. Without a doubt, he is King of Curses." Gojo said.

"Is he stronger than you, Gojo-sensei?"

"Good question, if Sukuna were to completely regain his power it would be a tough battle."

"Would you lose?"

"Nah, I'd win," Gojo said confidently.

See, that's how you obtain information. Yuji also thought as he started to draw a power dynamic of this world.

🔹🔹🔹

With Gojo's guidance, Yuji made his way to the principal's office, the traditional architecture and spiritual ambience creating an atmosphere both awe-inspiring and intimidating. The statues of deities seemed to silently observe, their gaze adding weight to Yuji's journey.

In the principal's office, a tall man with a muscular frame and tan skin. He had short, spiky, black hair on top with the rest of his head shaved. He has thick eyebrows and his facial hair consists of a moustache and goatee combination. "You are Yuji Itadori," He stated more than asking, to which Yuji nodded.

"Your interview is not just a formality; it is a test of your resolve. We do not reject potential, but we demand discipline." Principal continued.

"Itadori, tell me why you want to join Jujutsu High." A straight forward question.

Yuji took a deep breath, meeting Principal Yaga's discerning gaze. The question hung in the air, demanding more than a mere answer—it demanded a revelation of Yuji's innermost motives.

"I want to join Jujutsu High," Yuji began, his voice steady, "because I've seen the devastation that Cursed Spirits can bring. It's not just about personal revenge; it's about preventing others from experiencing the pain I've felt. I want to protect people, to ensure that no one else loses loved ones to these malevolent forces."

Principal Yaga listened intently, his eyes reflecting both curiosity and understanding. "Protection," he mused, "a noble aspiration. But tell me, Itadori, what makes you believe you can make a difference? The world is vast, and curses are relentless. Why do you think you can stand against such formidable adversaries?"

Yuji thought for a moment, "I may not have all the answers, but I refuse to be passive. I've been given a chance and I want to use it for the greater good. Jujutsu High is where I can learn to wield that power responsibly, to become a force against the darkness."

The principal nodded, acknowledging the sincerity in Yuji's words. "Your resolve is commendable, Itadori. However, joining Jujutsu High requires more than just a desire for justice. It demands discipline, sacrifice, and an understanding of the delicate balance between power and responsibility. How do you plan to navigate these challenges?"

"I know it won't be easy," Yuji admitted. "But I'm willing to undergo rigorous training, face whatever trials come my way, and learn to control the power within me. I believe in the importance of balance, and I'm ready to embrace the hardships that come with being a sorcerer."

Principal Yaga leaned back, studying Yuji with a discerning eye. "Potential is abundant, but discipline is rare. Many have come seeking the path of a sorcerer, yet only a few emerge truly formidable. Are you prepared to face the uncertainties that await you, even if it means confronting aspects of yourself you may not like?"

Yuji met the principal's gaze unwaveringly. "I am. I've faced my own shortcomings, and I'm committed to overcoming them. I want to become someone who can make a genuine impact in the battle against curses, even if it means confronting my own darkness."

A moment of silence lingered in the room as Principal Yaga continued to assess Yuji's sincerity. Then, the figure nodded, his expression revealing a mix of approval and expectation. "Itadori, your journey at Jujutsu High is not just about acquiring skills; it's about shaping your character. You'll face adversaries that test not only your strength but your resolve. Are you ready to embark on this transformative journey?"

Yuji's response was resolute. "I am ready, Principal Yaga. I understand the gravity of the path I've chosen, and I'm prepared to face whatever challenges come my way. Jujutsu High is where I can grow into the sorcerer I aspire to be."

The principal's gaze softened, a hint of a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Very well, Itadori. Welcome to Jujutsu High. May your journey be one of self-discovery, growth, and unwavering determination."

As Principal Yaga uttered those words, the air in the room seemed to shift, carrying with it a sense of acceptance and possibility.

A playful thought crossed Yuji's mind, wondering if there was a "How to Deal with Stubborn Instructors" class in the curriculum.

As Yuji left the room, he couldn't help but think: Smooth sailing, Yuji. They'll never suspect a thing. Just another day in the life of a reincarnator. I have to say my acting skills haven't become rusty.
