Chapter 12: Formula for World destruction

"Hey, sensei! Megumi!" Yuji greeted with a wide smile as Gojo and Megumi approached.

Gojo grinned, "Well done, you two. Handling that curse and calming down the kid– not bad for a day's work."

Megumi nodded in agreement, "You showed good teamwork and composure."

Nobara rolled her eyes, "Yeah, yeah, we get it. Always room for improvement and all that. Can we go grab some food now? I'm starving."

Gojo laughed, "The way to a sorcerer's heart – through their stomachs. Alright, let's celebrate your success with a good meal. Before that let me deal with the child."

Gojo turned his attention to Taro, who was still recovering from the encounter with the curse. He crouched down, his playful demeanour shifting to a more comforting one.

"Hey there, Taro. You're safe now," Gojo reassured, his voice gentle. "We're going to get you something to eat, and then we'll make sure you get back home, alright?"

Taro, still a bit shy, nodded hesitantly. Gojo ruffled his hair with a smile, "Great! Let's go grab a meal together, and you can tell us more about yourself."

The group entered a nearby restaurant, the aroma of various dishes filling the air. Taro's initial shyness began to fade as they settled at a table, surrounded by the lively atmosphere of the eatery.

As they perused the menu, Gojo initiated a casual conversation with Taro. "So, Taro, do you have any favourite foods?"

Taro's eyes lit up, "I really like ramen, mister!"

Gojo chuckled, "Excellent choice! We're definitely getting ramen then. What about you, Nobara? Any preferences?"

Nobara grinned, "I'm not picky. Just bring me something spicy and with lots of meat."

Yuji added, "I'm with Nobara. Spicy and hearty sounds good."

Megumi, always the reserved one, simply nodded, indicating he was fine with whatever the others chose.

As they awaited their orders, Taro began sharing bits of his life. "I live with my grandma. She takes care of me since my parents work a lot."

Gojo listened attentively, "That's nice. Grandmas are the best, aren't they?"

Taro nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah! She makes the best snacks."

The conversation flowed effortlessly as they enjoyed their meal. Taro's initial nervousness gave way to a sense of belonging, surrounded by these unique individuals who had come to his rescue.

Once they finished eating, Gojo turned to Taro, "We'll make sure you get home safely, Taro. But before we go, there's something I need to do."

With a wave of his hand, Gojo cast a Cursed Technique to erase Taro's memories related to the curse encounter. Taro blinked, momentarily confused, but Gojo quickly reassured him, "Just making sure you remember the fun parts, okay? Now, let's get you back home."

As they walked Taro to his house, Gojo kept the conversation light, discussing his favourite foods and hobbies. By the time they reached Taro's doorstep, the child was smiling again.

"Thanks for everything, mister, and everyone!" Taro exclaimed.

Gojo tousled Taro's hair, "Anytime, kiddo. Take care, and don't sneak out of your house without your parents."

As they watched Taro enter his home, Gojo turned to the others. "A successful mission, team. Now, let's head back to the school and prepare for what's next."

The night sky stretched above them as they made their way back.

Under the cover of the night, Yuji, fueled by a restless curiosity, quietly slipped out of the school building.

Given that Yuji is new to this world, he doesn't have much knowledge about its geography. He only knows some places he visited with Gojo, and the memory of Itadori is also useless as he hasn't come to Tokyo.

But he is not here to tour the city; instead, he only sneaks out of the dorm in search of curses, and he knows a person who is perfect for this job.

"Hey Sukuna, can you tell me about the curses nearby?"

Sukuna's voice echoed in Yuji's mind, "Why bother asking me? Just unleash one of your flashy techniques and feel for them. You're not exactly subtle, you know."

"Oh, I would if I could but I don't want to destroy the world you see."

Sukuna snorted, "Destroy the world? You're not that powerful to casually say that. I would have believed you if you said you wanted to open a nursery for kids."

"Actually, Sukuna, Destroying the world is much simpler than you think."

Sukuna scoffed, "You're delusional. Enlighten me then, how is destroying the world simpler?"

Yuji smirked, "Well, you just need a few new elements that disrupt the world rules. For example, in this world, curses, cursed energy, and Jujutsu Sorcerers are common, and the world rules revolve around such a system. And if you add a new energy, such as mana or Qi—they are positive energy, and Cursed energy is negative—then the world will try to neutralize the effect. By neutralizing, I mean ending all beings—living or non-living—that are supported by the energy, and voilà! World destruction achieved."

"And for your reference, I have ended several worlds myself using this method."

Yuji continued, "But like I said, I'm not interested in destroying the world. I'm here to explore this new energy system, and understand curses."

Sukuna rolled his eyes in the mental space they shared, "Exploring a new energy system, huh? What are you? A scholar."

Ignoring Sukuna's sarcasm, Yuji pressed on, "Anyways, I'm curious about the curses nearby. Can you give me a hint on where to find them?"
