8 Detention Centre 2

The instant Hector set foot inside the detention centre, took in the perverse changes into his surroundings. While still holding a resemblance to the inside of a prison, the spaces were all disproportioned and convoluted. The interior of the building somehow warped itself into a maze of madness, doors were stuck onto the ceiling, the floor tiles became spiky at random intervals and simple pathways were morphed into elaborate labyrinths.

It looked like a real life version of an M.C Escher painting, only less white, more dark and broody.

"An incomplete domain? Looks like this might be interesting." Hector murmured calmly, looking around the shadowy room they ended up in.

Opposing Hector's lax attitude, Yuji's eyes rapidly darted around the room, "What's going on here?! This is supposed to be a two story building!"

"C-calm down, it's a maisonette." Kugisaki stuttered, trying and failing to fathom what they just walked into.

Following in Hector's footsteps Fushiguro coolly assessed the situation before the pipe covered wall behind them caught his attention, "The door!" he cried.

Turning around Hector took notice of the missing door, as did his compatriots, though his reaction was markedly more tame, "Shite." He said in English, turning to the others he asked, "Anyone have a way to find the exit?"

"The door's gone! But we just came from there!" Yuji and Kugisaki said in unison. For a pair that's at each other's necks 24/7, they're surprisingly in sync most of the time.

Whispering something to the white wolf-like shikigami, Fushiguro then stands up and states, "We're good." Pointing a finger at his summons, "We can track the scent of the exit."

Both idiot's eyes lit up at the discovery and pounced at their saviour, showering it with pats and a torrential stream of "Good boy's"

"Hey! Stay sharp." Fushiguro snapped, cutting the petting session short.

"You're so reliable Fushiguro." Yuji told him, his mouth breaking into a wide smile, one far too bright for the current situation, "You've saved a lot of people, including me."

Averting his eyes, Fushiguro brushed off the comment, "Let's go."

"Finally." Hector uttered, beginning to walk down the pitch black corridor with nothing but the head of the cig he just lit for illumination.

Passing through, the hallway opened up into a wide, adequately lit room, with an exceedingly high ceiling and a pungent. It wasn't difficult to locate the source of the smell considering there was a trail of bloody intestines leading straight to three tormented bodies - only one being recognizable.

Two inmates' bodies were folded in on themselves, their features impossible to recognise in the compact ball of crushed limbs. The last was mutilated from the waist down, on the opposite side of the room his legs were left lying on the ground like a pair of dirty socks.

"That's brutal." Hector voiced, putting his cigarette to the side for a moment.

Yuji's face turned chalk white as he looked on at the disturbing scene. Clenching his jaw tightly, he swallowed heavily and slowly approached the inmate's torso on shaky legs. Stepping between the spheres of human flesh, he gripped onto the inmates blood stained shirt and read the name tag.

- Tadashi Okazaki -

Yuji's face fell as he let go of the shirt, still kneeling he stated, "We're bringing this body back."

"What?" Kugisaki asked, dropping the hand that covered her mouth.

"It's that lady's son." Yuji said, causing Hector to recall the middle aged woman who had been causing a ruckus outside the detention centre, "The face isn't that messed up…"

"But-" Kugisaki tried to reason.

"She's not going to be satisfied if we just tell her that her son is dead." Yuji said, cutting off whatever the girl was about to say.

Grabbing Yuji by the scruff of the neck, Fushiguro pulls him away from the body, "We have to confirm that the other two are dead. Leave him." he firmly ordered, snapping Yuji out of his self-induced trance.

Turning to face the black haired boy, Yuji asks, "Everytime we turn back the path is different. How're we supposed to come back here?"

Taking on a more severe look, Fushiguro refutes, "I never said 'we'll come back'. I said leave him." Fully making his intentions clear, he said, "He's not even worth saving alive. Why would I save his dead body?"

Now agitated, with impressive speed for a non-cursed energy enhanced movement, Yuji swivelled around to grab FUshiguro's collar. Now with both of them nearly butting heads from the closeness, they began arguing over what should be done with the body.

Letting a long drawn out whistle fly, Hector elbowed Kugisaki in the side, "Who knew they could get so worked up over a body." Who in return shot him a minor glare before storming off to break up the fight that was about to start.

Flicking the butt of his finished cigarette to the side, Hector instantly reached back into his pocket for seconds. Balancing it between his lips, he brought the lighter up to the far end of the cig.

The instant he sparked the flame, he felt a sudden bout of weightlessness wash over him, "The fuc-" Hector barely managed to say something before plunging through the gaping hole beneath his feet.

Promptly exhausting smoke from his body, Hector gathered the fumes around his feet, compressing it enough to give him two miniature cloud-like footholds. Circulating cursed energy though his body, Hector sprang for the rapidly closing gateway.

Just as he entered touching distance, the murky gate snapped shut, sealing him inside the pitch black space.

Suddenly, multiple areas of the room were shone with a white light. Illuminating the area were a bunch of floating curses that looked like wailing white masks. With prey in sight they hounded towards Hector, spiralling around him in a ghostly fashion.

The symphony of ghastly wails seemed to reach Hector's very soul as the cascade of terrible voices bounced around his skull. In spite of this, the red-haired boy's mouth morphed into a confident, self-assured smirk.
