Chapter 2: Junior got married

"I think we should start preparing right from now, I would like to know the list of the items I will buy for the wedding and the bride price."

"Whaoh! So fast," said Ada. My husband and I will prepare the list, this week and before the end of this week we will give you the list," said Ada.

"Ok ma," said Junior.

"Good, mummy Simbi, he was referring to Ada. is there any questions you want to asked him before he goes because am done with questioning him?" Asked Saul.

"No questions you have already asked all the necessary question which I wanted to asked," said Ada.

"Junior, feel at home you hear, you are allowed here anytime you feel like having fun with us," said Saul.

"Ok sir, I want to say thank you for accepting me as Simbi's husband, and I pray you will never regret your actions," said Junior.

"Amen," all of them answered.

After Junior had drank the Maltina that was given to him, he was served food which he ate. After eating he decided to go back home. He then gave Saul and his wife Ada an envelops containing money.

When he left they checked the envelope and found the sum of ten thousand naira each inside the envelope.

Junior got the list on Wednesday, After analyzing the list he was given by his prospective in-laws, the total money for the goods was 550k And the bride price at the tail end of the list was 700k.

The following morning, he went to Simbi's house and paid the bride price. Saul and Ada were surprised.

Then they agreed that the wedding was going to hold on the last day of the month and the wedding would be done in a court as he had promised Simbi when he was still in school.

And the wedding was done successfully in the court on that day and they became Mr And Mrs Johnson then they had honeymoon for one month.

And after there honey mood Mr Johnson decided to lived in one of the beautiful house that his father had built In Lagos.

Ten years after Mr And Mrs Johnson wedding in court, they had not given birth to any child. Then Mr Johnson discussed his problem with his friend Jamo.

And Jamo advised him to have a girlfriend, and he did as he was advised but that didn't solve their problem of child birth.

He had five girlfriends and had intercourse with them all but none was able to conceive. So one of his girlfriends advised him to go to the hospital with her so that the doctor would carry out tests on them and recommend remedy.

Mr Johnson liked the advice his girlfriend had gave to him, so he went to the hospital and complain then the doctor ran tests on them and told them to check back for the results of the test.

Mr Johnson went back to the hospital for the test results and the results showed that he had a low sperm count.

He came out of the hospital with sadness and kept it within himself and didn't let his wife know about the issue.

He later told Jamo about the test results. And Jamo said he was going to take him to a native doctor and that the problem would be solve.

The next day, they went to the native doctor to consult the oracle about the Issue of been childlessness and the man asked him to come along with his wife next time he is coming.

And Mr Johnson agreed with the Native doctor and went back home.

On his way home he bought suya meat that his wife liked to eat. And went home to wait until his wife returned from office.

When his wife came back from office, she greeted him and went to take her bath. Then she went inside the room to dress up. Mr Johnson followed her inside too and chatted with her.

"How was work today?, Asked Mr Johnson.

"Fine," replied Mrs Johnson.

"Good, did you check the account that the manager scribbled today?"

"Yes," she answered.

"Ok was it balanced?" Asked Mr Johnson.

"Yes," said Mrs Johnson.

"Love, I have something for you," said Mr Johnson.

"What is it?"

"Suya" said Mr Johnson.

"Whaoh! Thank you, my best meat."

"Hold, I'll be back," Mr Johnson said and went to the sitting room and brought the suya he placed on the Table and went back to their room.

He gave her the suya and they sat down on the bed eating the suya and continued with their discussion.

"Love see am not happy with the way we do not have any child and there is a mansion that I wish to build, but I just thought that if I build it who will inherit the mansion?"

He paused a little bit and continued, "My father left riches for me as his only son but I do not have who to take care of all my labour when I die. And there is only one solution which my friend told me about."

"Which solution?," she interrupted him and she was eager to hear the solution.

"There was a man who my friend took me to today. The man said if I could do what he said, there would be a solution to our problem."

"What did he say we were to do?"

"The man said if both of us could go to to see him, the problem would be solved."

"Ok, I will like to go with you tomorrow. I'm happy with the news you just shared..."

"Good, you can now go and cook, i'm hungry," he interrupted her.

"Ok " said Mrs Johnson then she went to the kitchen to cook.

The second day, Mr And Mrs Johnson went to the native doctor and the native doctor consulted the oracle.

"Now do as if you are carrying a baby," the native doctor said. And both of them did as they were instructed.

"Good, you shall use this your belly to carry a child," said the Native doctor.

"Amen," both of them claimed it.

"Good, now I will take you and your wife to the house of power and then I will say some incantations in the house after that, begin to dance for joy, your child will come."

"Ok, we are ready for it sir."

"Good, now let's go in," said the Native doctor.

And they followed him to the house of power. Inside the house of power, there were many traditional artifacts and charms there, some where hanging while some charms were placed on a table.

The wall was covered with reds and black cloth. On the opposite side of the entrance there were some idols placed on the floor where the alter was.

The Native doctor told Mrs Johnson to lie down on the altar. And told her husband to kneel down beside her, then he call upon the gods and said some incantations.

Then he knelt down to touch Mrs

Johnson's stomach and said some incantations on her stomach.

Then he stood up and congratulated them and asked them to get up and told them to go outside and he followed them.

They sat back in their positions.

"Now when you get home before you do any other thing, make sure you have intercourse."

"Yes sir," they both answered.

"After that, you shall conceive and then you will come and thank the gods."

So they went back home and did as the Native doctor instructed them.

One month later, Mrs Johnson discovered that she was observing some signs of pregnancy in her.

Then she told her husband and they went for a test in the hospital and discovered that it was one month pregnancy and they went to thank the native doctor.

And the native doctor told them that the wife was to be back to see him within a week post-delivery.
