Chapter 7: He was jealous

Back in the palace

Stefan and Tamara are seen sitting in the garden having a flirtatious discussion.

"Baby, i can't wait to marry you". Stefan said kissing Tamara's palm.

"Me too love". She giggled at how lovey dovey he was acting.

She felt so content that she could finally be with the one she truly loves and not that annoying prince Jedidiah.

She was so glad that their plan pulled through.

"What are you thinking about". Stefan asked looking worried.

"Nothing serious. I'm just glad we got rid of that pest". She chuckled as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"The look on his face when he found out about our betrayal was very priceless". He thought back to the moment Jedidiah was shocked on seeing him.

"I guess he's rotting in hell now". She grinned happily picking a grape and feeding it to him.

"We would be holding our engagement party very soon". He said to her picking a grape and feeding her the same way she did.

"Really!" she rejoiced happily.

"Yes baby". He chuckled at how excited she was.

"But..hope there wouldn't be suspicions regarding the death of Jedidiah and our sudden engagement?" she asked worriedly because she wouldn't want anything that would hinder their marriage.

"No my love. there wouldn't be any". He said as he trailed off into a world of his own thoughts.

He was very sure that there would be no suspicion as to the death of Jedidiah because he carried out his plans very well. Infact, his mother was the brain box behind the plan because she is a very good schemer. Ever since his father died, his mother has been the back bone of the family.

His mother is related to the late Queen, that is Jediah's mother.

He and his mother moved into the palace after much pleadings from the late Queen because she didn't want her sister and nephew to live alone. Few months later, the Queen passed away after a brief illness and his mother started taking care of he and Jedidiah.

The King then married his mother in order for her to take care of Jedidiah as he was still very young and needed a mother's care. He was younger than Jedidiah by a year. Jedidiah was good at everything and everyone loved him. He was always jealous of him and wanted everything he had including his father's love.

He then fell in love with a girl named Tamara and they started dating. He was really excited about his relationship until one night when the king announced that Jedidiah would be getting married to the lady he was betrothed to. At first he didn't mind untill he found out the lady was Tamara. He was so furious but he never expressed his anger.

He decided to tell his mom and they decided to get rid of him.

His mother told him that if Jedidiah died, he would become the next king and Tamara would automatically become his bride. His eyes widened with surprise and then he decided to agree to his mother's plan.

The day the plan would be executed finally came. It was the day he and Jedidiah would go on a royal visit to the Duke of a nearby town in the kingdom.

He made it seem like they were attacked on their way back and kidnapped and the kidnappers wanted to kill them by burning them alive but Jedidiah asked Stefan to go find help and before he could return, the place was burnt to ashes along with his body.

He then returned to the palace with the story he had cooked up and it was believed. He even pretended to mourn Jedidiah and refused to eat for seven days until the king pleaded with him.

A funeral was held after fourteen days and everything went back to normal.

The king then told him that he would be his successor and he should take Tamara as his wife.

Everything went according to plan just as his mother had said. Now he was waiting for the wedding and also waiting for the day the king would die in order for him to ascend the throne.

"it seems something is in you mind?" Tamara asked with her brows furrowed.

"it's nothing love". He said to her stroking her cheek.

"it's been a month since 'he' died". She said stressing the 'he' meaning she was talking about Jedidiah.

"Yeah i know. Forget about him okay". He said kissing her cheek this time and she giggled.
