But as he reaches the pinnacle of power, Li Xin must confront the question of whether or not the ends justify the means, and whether or not his ruthless pursuit of strength was worth the cost. Chapter 1
Li Xin slammed his fist against the training dummy, sweat dripping down his forehead as he gritted his teeth. He had been at it for hours, pushing his body to its limits as he tried to increase his cultivation level.
"Come on, Xin, take a break," his friend Zhang said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You've been at it all day. You need to rest."
Li Xin shook his head, his determination unwavering. "I can't rest, Zhang. Not when I have enemies like the Wei clan standing in my way."
Zhang sighed, knowing that there was no point in trying to argue with Li Xin when he was like this. The Wei clan was a powerful cultivation family that had always looked down on Li Xin and his humble background. They had made it their mission to hinder his progress at every turn, and Li Xin was determined to prove them wrong.
"Fine," Zhang said, taking a step back. "But at least let me spar with you. It'll be good practice for both of us."
