Ch.17 Neo and Ruby(2)

Neo was looking at the talk between Agni and Ruri when suddenly both of their gaze met, seeing that both Ruri and Neo nodded they heard giving each other an evil smile.

"Hey, Agni"

Ruri whispered in Agni's ear as she leaned close to her.

"Yes, sister?" 

Agni gave her a questioning look as she replied to her sister's words, for some reason, she was having a bad feeling.

"Have you not confessed to Vayu yet."

Ruri whispered and Agni seemed to be right about her bad feelings as the moment she heard that word from her sister's mouth her face turned red.

"Sister!!"

Shouting that Agni ran away not letting anyone stop her.

"HAHAHA"

"HAHAHA"

Two people laugh at the same time as they look at Agni's situation, those two being Neo and Ruri.

Giving a high five to each other both of them give each other a knowing glance.

"Can you not bully her so much."

Alice said as she looked at the behavior of her friend and son, though she said that she did have a smile on her face.

As for Nexus and Ruby both of them chose to remain silent as they didn't want to be part of this mess.

"Mother, but if I don't do that they may not get together for another five centuries."

Neo complained as he looked at his mother.

"Won't you say so too, Dad?"

Neo added after all there is no way he is letting his dad enjoy the free show.

"Ah, yes I think so too."

Nexus replied as he nodded his head, after all, his plan of going undetected had been ruined so he could only prepare for the future.

"Ok, but knowing those two, how will you get them to show their feeling to each other, after all...."

Alice said as she stopped her words, after all, the people present her more or less knew the behaviors of those two.

"I know, but I haven't been making plans for this for a year for nothing. And the arrival of Aunt Ruri and Ruby has just propelled this plan forward."

Neo replied to his mother's question as he folded his hands, after all, there was no way he was moving without a plan.

"Hoho, Care to enlighten me on your plans."

Ruri asked as she looked at Neo's face with intrigue.

"Of course, and where are you going, Ruby?"

Neo replied as he grabbed the shoulder of Ruby who was currently trying to run away.

"I-uh"

"Now, Now you are very integral to the plan so you have to listen to it."

Neo said not letting her speak.

"But, Aunt Agni will..."

"Don't worry if the plans work out we won't have to worry about Agni."

Neo said as he patted her head to reassure her.

"If you say so..."

"But if the plans fail, we may just have to hide in the beast forest."

Neo continues as he gives the most calm smile to Ruby.

"Youuu."

Ruby says in anger as she tries to punch him which he swiftly dodges, before Ruby can continue Ruri lifts her off the ground and puts her in her embrace.

"Now, Now Ruby you can do this later, Let's hear Neo's plan for now."

Ruri says as she signals Neo to continue.

"Yes...."

With that Neo starts to tell all of his plans to them and all of them listen to it as they prepare for the role they have to play.

"Hmm, Neo is it really ok for you to start training so quickly?"

Ruby asks as she walks next to me, currently we are going to the training hall to begin my training with Sir Vayu.

"Yeh, don't worry, plus I need to get used to moving my body."

I reply, after all this world is quite dangerous, even though my father is a "Mana Demi-god" one of the strongest figures in this world, he is not omniscient.

"If you say so."

Ruby says to my comment as she sings to herself. A song I am quite familiar with, after all, I was the one who took her to listen to it.

"You seem to like that song a lot."

I ask as I look at her cute face.

"Yes, it's a beautiful song... Hmm. do you think we will be able to hear from that bard again?"

She replies and then asks me a question about the bard, it was sometime last year when we were 'sneaking' out of the castle we ran into a show of a bard.

He was very talented and his voice was clear and beautiful, with a song I had never heard he livened the atmosphere of the street.

"We, may or may not meet him. After all this world is quite big."

I reply to her question, after all, the chances of running into that wandering bard again are quite low, plus this world is way too many times bigger than the planet Earth where my last self resided.

"Well, you are correct but we may meet him again in our journey. After all, we did promise to travel together after we had completed the academy's studies."

Ruby said as she walked in front of me, speaking about the promise we made.

"Well, I guess so."

I reply as her face blooms into a beautiful smile and I give her a smile back in return. She really is cute and I wish for her to smile forever.

After a while, both of us reach the training halls just in time, as my sister Alicia also exists indicating the completion of her training.

"Hello, sis Alicia."

Ruby says as she gives her a hug and Alicia hugs her back.

"Did you arrive now?"

She asks as she looks at Ruby, she has the cold face she always makes whenever she meets me, though it has been broken a little.

"Yes, we arrived an hour before, Mother was looking for you."

Ruby replies as she lets go of the hug.

"Aunt Ruri, then I will be on my way."

My sister says as she nods her head and starts to walk away.

"How was training today?"

I ask trying to start a conversation.

"um"

She replies as she leaves me alone. Sigh, I guess I seem to have increased my hope too much seeing her behavior yesterday. She is back to her everyday self who doesn't even talk with me that much.

"Hey, Neo I think Sis Alicia hates you."

Ruby says as she comes closer to me and looks at the departing figure of Alicia.

"Oh, what makes you think so."

Neo asks in a sarcastic tone but Ruby doesn't seem to have understood it as she continues.

"Her general behavior toward you."

"Oh and why do you think she hates me?"

Neo asks a genuine question as he looks into Ruby's eyes.

"Perhaps your annoying personality."

Ruby replies to my question as she gives me a big smirk.

"Ahh, So hurtful, then do you also hate me."

I reply as I give a painful scream and let tears stream down from my eyes, if anybody says to me they will think of me as a man who was rejected by the girl he loves. Well, at least I think so, and looking at Ruby's face that quickly morphs into concern I know I was successful in my acting.

"Sorry, sorry, OK I don't hate you, as annoying as your personality is you are my best friend and I like you very much."

Ruby quickly replies as she hugs me and pats my head trying to soothe me.

Although I am happy about her concern I couldn't help but lament how easy it is to manipulate her. Even though I have been training her how to detect it, although I may have had a little too much fun doing that, she still doesn't seem to have completely learned it.

Or, perhaps I am too good at acting, that can also be the reason.
