Chapter 29

Slowly Itachi began to regain his consciousness and looking to the sides, he realized that he was in a vast, dark place with the stars being the only things that were shining. Soon he realized that he was inside his 'Universe', he knew this because he felt a sort of connection to this place.

Floating in space he thought about many things, first about a way how to get out of this place, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't. He reached a point, where he just stayed in this space, floating aimlessly.

Maybe because he owned this 'Universe' he didn't need oxygen to breathe in this space, so only his body floated calmly, while he himself looked at the stars passing by in the vast space.

"It's not at all bad to stay in this place..." He muttered.

Many things went through his head, and as time went on, he realized that the stars were gone, and all that remained was endless darkness. But this time he was no longer floating in space.

Itachi could feel the ground, but when he looked down, he could only see endless darkness.

"Looks like I can only walk..." He thought.

Seconds... Minutes... Hours... Days... Years...

Itachi didn't know how much time had passed since he started walking forward in the middle of this darkness, all he knew was that he would never get tired, never get hungry. Slowly his feelings began to fade....

Pain... Anger... Sadness... Happiness...

Slowly he stopped having feelings, his only goal was to keep walking forward, it was like an instinct that was ingrained in his body. Itachi felt that if he didn't keep moving forward, he might lose something very important to him...

And because of this instinct and this feeling, he kept walking.

"I need to keep going..." He muttered.

No matter how much he kept moving forward, nothing happened, nothing changed. Itachi began to wonder if this was really what he was supposed to do? If this was really his wish? Was there really something in the midst of this darkness?

Just as he was about to give up and just lie down in the middle of this darkness, he spotted a small white light in front of him. This white light seemed to want to guide him on his way. He didn't know where this white light had come from, but he felt a kind of comfort at the sight of it, and a perhaps forgotten feeling began to appear in his heart.

As if reading Itachi's mind this white light covered him with a kind of Energy that seemed to strengthen him. As if it was motivating Itachi to move forward, it was like a mother helping her child to ride a bicycle for the first time.

Thanks to this Energy covering him, Itachi was able to have the strength to continue walking forward.

"Keep going..." Itachi muttered.

His eyes were a bit unfocused, even though he didn't feel physically tired his brain and soul were exhausted as if they had just gone through a torturous battle. He was only able to keep walking because of his willpower and this white light that covered his body.

Slowly the light in front of him became stronger, this was the sign that he was approaching his destination. As he got closer, the light became stronger, to the point where Itachi was forced to close his eyes to avoid going blind.

Opening his eyes again, he realized he was in a different place, the exhaustion he felt a few seconds ago was no longer present. The white light that had covered his body and allowed him to continue also seemed to have completely disappeared.

All that remained was a red light in front of him that seemed to flicker slightly.

With slow and steady steps Itachi began to approach this light which slowly turned out to be a flame that burned steadily and beautifully, surrounding the flames were two wooden benches on opposite sides, one of these benches seemed to be occupied by a person.

"You..." Itachi muttered.

His eyes widened slightly as he saw the person sitting on the wooden bench, this person was someone Itachi knew very well, in fact, Itachi could say that he was the person who knew the man sitting on the bench best.

Since coming to the cultivation world, few things had managed to surprise him, but now seeing this person in front of him, he couldn't help his surprise.

"It's been a while... Itachi." A man sitting roasting marshmallow said with a slight smile on his face.

The man has short, unkempt, dark colored hair, black eyes and a relatively wide nose , and he was well defined with eyelashes, which were turned up at each end. The clothing that this man wore was the standard Uchiha clan attire, which consists of a high collar, dark colored clothing, along with a tantō attached to the right side of the back of his shoulder.

This man is precisely one of Itachi's closest people, also known as Shisui of the Body Flicker, Uchiha Shisui.

Itachi never expected that he would be able to meet his friend again. Looking at him sitting roasting Marshmallow a rare smile appeared on his face.

"Really... Long time without seeing us..." Itachi commented as he sat down on the opposite side of Shisui.

Looking at his friend, memories of everything they had been through together appeared in Itachi's mind. These were memories that he would probably never be able to forget.

"So how have you been?" Shisui asked with a smile on his face, as he twirled the Marshmallow on the toothpick so that it could bake on the other side.

Looking at Shisui, Itachi just shook his head and said, "It's a long story."

"It's okay, we have time." Shisui said as he picked up another skewer with Marshmallow and passed it to Itachi.
