Chapter 15

After dropping Yuji off at Jujutsu High and definitely not have Ijichi dig up information about when a certain someone goes to drink coffee...

Kamo made his way to the coffee shop she had recommended. As he approached the cozy establishment, he spotted Ayame sitting by the window, sipping a steaming cup of coffee. Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door and stepped inside, the familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloping him.

Ayame looked up from her cup, her eyes widening in surprise as she recognized the young sorcerer. A warm smile spread across her face as Kamo approached her table.

"Kagura-kun! What a coincidence " Ayame exclaimed, her voice laced with genuine delight. "I'm so glad to see you. Please, have a seat."

Kamo nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he slid into the chair across from Ayame. "I hope I'm not interrupting your afternoon," he said, his tone slightly hesitant.

Ayame shook her head, her long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders. "Not at all," she reassured him. "I'm always happy to see a friendly face. Can I get you something to drink?"

Kamo considered her offer, his mind briefly drifting back to the events that had unfolded earlier. "A coffee would be wonderful, thank you," he replied, his voice slightly weary.

As Ayame flagged down a waitress to place his order, Kamo took the opportunity to study her. Her gentle features and warm demeanor were a stark contrast to the chaos and violence he had just experienced. There was a sense of calmness and serenity about her that he found strangely soothing.

When the waitress returned with Kamo's coffee, Ayame turned her attention back to him, her expression filled with concern. "Is everything alright, Kagura-kun?" she asked, her voice soft and caring. "You seem a bit...troubled."

Kamo hesitated, unsure of how to lie to that cute face. "It's been a long day," he admitted, his fingers wrapping around the warm mug.

Ayame's eyes widened slightly at his words, and a faint blush crept across her cheeks. "Well, we all have some kind of challenges.," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She paused for a moment, her gaze meeting Kamo's. "If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always willing to listen."

Kamo felt a familiar warmth spreading through his chest as he looked into Ayame's sincere eyes. For a moment, the weight of the day's events seemed to lift, and he found himself drawn to the soothing presence of this remarkable woman.

Kamo offered Ayame a grateful smile. "Thank you, Ayame-san. I appreciate your kindness."

She returned his smile warmly. "Of course, Kagura-kun. Please, feel free to talk to me about anything that's on your mind."

Kamo nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. As the rich, smooth flavor filled his senses, he found himself relaxing, the tension in his shoulders easing. "Well, since you offered," he began, "I suppose I could use a bit of a distraction from the normal stress of work."

Ayame leaned in, her eyes attentive. "I'm all ears."

Kamo proceeded to tell her about his annoying but cool sensei and stuck up Fushiguro. Ayame listened intently, offering occasional words of encouragement and asking thoughtful questions.

Before long, their conversation had drifted to more lighthearted topics - Kamo's favorite foods, Ayame's hobbies, and the latest trends in the city. Time seemed to slip away as they found themselves immersed in each other's company, the stresses of the day fading into the background.

Kamo was surprised to glance at the clock and realize several hours had passed. "Goodness, I didn't realize how much time had passed," he said, chuckling softly.

Ayame's eyes widened, and she let out a gentle laugh. "Neither did I! It seems we've been quite engrossed in our conversation."

Kamo nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face. "It feels so nice spending time with you Ayame san, away from all the chaos and worries of life."

Ayame returned his smile, her gaze soft and affectionate. "The pleasure is all mine, Kagura-kun. I'm happy to provide a peaceful place whenever you need it."

Kamo's gaze lingered on Ayame, a newfound sense of warmth and comfort washing over him. As much as he had enjoyed their conversation, he knew he couldn't linger any longer.

"Ayame-san," he said, his voice soft, "would it be okay for me to drop you home?"

Ayame's eyes widened slightly, a hint of surprise coloring her delicate features. "Oh, Kagura-kun, that's so kind of you," she replied, a gentle smile gracing her lips. "I wouldn't want to impose, but sure I would like that."

Kamo nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "It would be my pleasure," he assured her, standing from his chair and boldly offering her his hand.

Ayame placed her hand in his, and Kamo marveled at the softness of her skin, the warmth of her touch sending a pleasant shiver down his spine. Together, they made their way out of the cozy café, the evening chill enveloping them as they stepped into the streets of Tokyo.

As they walked, Kamo couldn't help but steal glances at Ayame, admiring the way the streetlights danced across her features, casting a warm glow on her face. He found himself drawn to her serene presence, the way she carried herself with a quiet confidence and grace.

When they reached Ayame's apartment building, Kamo reluctantly slowed his pace, not quite ready for their time together to come to an end.

"Thank you for walking me home, Kagura-kun," Ayame said, her voice soft and sincere. "I've truly enjoyed our conversation today."

Kamo nodded, his gaze locked with hers. "The pleasure was all mine, Ayame-san," he replied, his tone gentle. "I hope we can do this again sometime."

Ayame's eyes sparkled with delight, and she nodded in agreement. "I would love that," she said, her smile radiant.

Kamo hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to part ways. But before he could overthink it, he asked "say, can i get your number?.

"Until next time, then," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper with a new name in his contacts.

Ayame gave his hand a gentle squeeze in return, her eyes conveying a warmth that Kamo couldn't quite describe. "I'll be looking forward to meeting you again," she replied, her tone equally soft.

With one final smile, Ayame turned and made her way up the steps of her building, leaving Kamo standing on the sidewalk.

A.N.- so I have cut down on some things in edit as I tried to make it less cringy and sudden. I will try to slow things down for the next couple of chapters and make this a bit more realistic.

I will also add ayame's pov next chapter to show how see feels

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So guys this is the start of the chill things for now. Do tell me how I did regarding the character interactions. I think I have hit some kind of writer's block and just can't write anything to save my life. the next ideally chapter should be about exploring and expanding the character of Kamo and I am just not feeling it.

So maybe there could be potential delays, sorry.
