A series of barks rang out and the two cubs unwillingly ran up to the wolf innocently.
The wolf was about to reprimand her cubs more but looking at their looks which seemed as if they had been wronged, the wolf felt herself soften.
The wolf then just simply licked the cubs clean and let them know to not disturb her sleep. After which, she simply went back to her spot to get some rest.
The cubs looked at each other and then at the baby in the basket, who quite coincidentally looked back at them too with its round beady eyes.
The cubs held a little grudge with the baby since because of the latter's cries their mother's rest was disturbed.
But this time they didn't bother with it as they hopped about by themselves and ran around the praying hall of the temple with full curiousity.
.
.
It hadn't been long before the two tired themselves out and ran back to their mother as they felt hungry.
The two laid in her embrace as they happily suckled some milk to quench their hunger.
The sounds of rain had already stopped, indicating that the weather was now clear.
The silence inside the praying hall of the temple was disturbed by a pair of wolf cubs cuddling up and suckling milk.
The baby who laid quietly inside the basket awoke from its nap as it yawned drowsily, upon hearing the suckling noises, it felt greatly hungered as well.
The baby then proceeded to rock the basket slowly and with some effort managed to topple it onto one side and make its way out.
The silver wolf's ears shot up as it heard soft noises coming from nearby. Knowing that her cubs were right beside her and it was not them, she immediately became alert and lifted her head up.
She saw the human baby crawl up to near her position and look at her two cubs with envy with its bright golden pupils.
This aroused the interest of the wolf as she knew a human baby that was probably just a day-old or so shouldn't be capable of moving about so much...let alone even opening its eyes.
The baby puffed its cheeks as it then shamelessly crawled into the wolf's embrace and started suckling some milk as well.
The two cubs immediately realized that a third party had infiltrated and was trying to steal their resource!
The two cubs mutually planned out and continuously nudged at the baby from the sides and after a few tries, they successfully pushed him out.
The baby teared up at this injustice and started crying once more, its cries were shrill and disturbed the wolf.
The wolf had originally intended to just ignore the baby but now seeing how her cubs had planned and pushed the baby away from 'their' resource, she knew that perhaps having the baby around would mutually improve both the parties.
And even more so, she was greatly curious about the baby now since there seemed to be some invisible flair around him.
.
The baby's cries didn't continue for long as the wolf lifted him up and brought him back to her side.
The baby acted as if the wolf was his mom as it enthusiastically went back to suckling some milk in her embrace to quench his hunger.
.
Seeing the 'problem' had returned, the cubs had once more planned to drive the third party away but a stare from the mother wolf made them whimper as they then quietly went back and suckled their share of milk.
