“I need to change his box and feed him. Would you mind giving him a few treats while I get his food ready? The treats are with the food.”

“Sure. You’re remarkably calm this afternoon, Davey,” Jake said.

Davey took care of the litter and filled Bandit’s bowls. “I can’t make the days go faster. Sunday will come whether I fret about it or not.”

“Good thinking, baby.”

“Let’s go meet Carlo at the new offices.”

Carlo was waiting for them along with Edith who had been curious and had Carlo pick her up after dropping of the Audi. “It’s ours. I have an appointment with the architectural design firm downstairs in about fifteen minutes. Think about how you want the space laid out.”

They were on the fourth floor by three in the afternoon. Milton Chambers met them in reception.

“I’m Milton Chambers, chief architect of Chambers and Brooks. We started out in Manhattan but moved to Jersey six years ago.”
