Based off the nursery rhythms "Jack and Jill." This is also the beginning of this story in Jill's perspective.
JACK AND JILL
Jill and I were born on August 30th, 1637 in a small town and were well known as the miracle twins. Our mother had been weak since birth and no one believed that she could give birth and live through it, nor be able to have two healthy babies. After our birth mothers' conditions got considerably worse, to the point where everyone around us had begun to think of us as a nuisance. When we turned three, the mother moved us to a rural area; our new home was surrounded by a forest and had very few hills. It was a quiet place to start our new life. The only source of water was a small river at the top of the hill that flowed into a small valley. Whenever we had time me a Jill would go and play near it until it grew dark or mother called us home.
Almost four years had passed since Jill, mother, and I moved here, and today, August 30th, 1644, Jill and I turn 7. It was also one of those days the mother's condition worsened. The night before we had used what was left of the stored water to take a bath, so as of right now there was nothing to wipe away mothers sweat or to relieve her of some of the heat.
Jill had just begun to make some soup to feed mother when I started to leave. I had not walked far when I heard the soft footsteps behind me. I spun around and there behind me was Jill smiling like some crazy person.
She lifted up the water pail and said, "You forgot this Jack." Laughter erupted from her and my face started to heat up from embarrassment.
I knew that it had turned a nice color red when Jill yelled, "Monkey butt!" I yanked the pail from her and ran up the hill smiling in trumpet when I could hear her yelling for me to slow down.
We arrived at the river for about half an hour after we left the house. It took only a few moments to fill up the pail with water.
I started to walk back down the hill when I suddenly remembered that before we began Jill had been cooking. I turned around and asked, "Jill did you put out the fire before following me?" I knew the answer as soon as the terror show up on her face. I dropped the pail of water and turned tail to the house Jill not far behind me. I didn't know how long we ran but soon the house came into view. I quicken my speed but tripped over a rock and tumbled the rest of the way down.
My head smashed into a rock causing my vision to go black for a moment, as soon as it returned Jill crashed into me. I sat up and immediately went to check to see if she was injured, only finding a few scratches here and there along with the occasional bruises.
My head shot up when I heard a sob erupt from her, big tears were rolling down her face. I went to her to ask what was wrong when something warm started to trickle down the side of my face, I rubbed my hand over the warm substance and once I realized it was blood and the reason why Jill was crying.
I went to comfort her but the ground started to come rushing towards me. Jill's screams seemed to get softer with each passing moment. In my view line, I could see my mother show up at the sound of Jill's yells, and she came running at the sight of mine.
I desperately wanted to tell Jill I was all right, wipe both mother and Jill's tears away, and get the mother back to bed to let her rest. My vision started to go black, I was being to lose what little strength I had left and I so terribly wanted to sleep. My mother and sister frantically tried to keep me awake. My thoughts started to become muddled together.
I hated seeing them both cry, I had attempted to say I'm all right but what came out instead was, "….all….ight" I struggled to raise my arm but it was like trying to pick up a bolder.
My mother and sisters crying face was the last thing that I saw. "I'm so tired, I'll…take…nap."
