Chapter Nineteen: Child's play

Chapter 19: Child's play
The tension in the courtyard was palpable as the duel between Leon and the Demon King began.
Leon: "Fire Magic - Flames of the Underworld."
Itachi blocks Leon's attack with his Earth Style jutsu.
Itachi: "Earth Style - Mud Wall."
Leon dashes toward Itachi, delivering a powerful kick. Itachi blocks the kick and leaps into the air, waving hand signs.
Itachi: "Fire Style - Fireball."
Leon skillfully dodges Itachi's attack and counters with his own technique.
Leon: "Fire Magic - Hell Flames."
His attack catches Itachi mid-air in the sky, causing Itachi to plummet to the ground.
As Itachi lands, he engages in a hand-to-hand combat with Leon. They trade swings and kicks, with Leon blocking and countering, and Itachi backflips away to create some distance between them.
Duke Elijah: "I can't believe that Leon is holding his own against the Demon King."
Yuki: "If I remember correctly, Yuki was a demon king candidate."
The guards cheered Leon on as he continued to counter Itachi's attacks and strike back.
Duke Elijah: "The Demon King is going to lose. I guess he's not all that powerful."
Yuki chuckled and said, "The Demon King isn't even at 10% of his power."
Duke Elijah: "What? You're lying."
Yuki: "Then watch the fight and see for yourself, Grand Duke."
Itachi got up after being flung into the wall by Leon. Itachi brushed off his clothes and said, "Time to get serious."
Itachi activated his Mangekyou Sharingan.
Leon: "His eyes, they're different just like before."
Itachi closed his left eye while keeping the right one open.
Leon attacked Itachi, but Itachi dodged Leon's attacks and kicked him in the face, sending him flying backward.
The air around the training ground became tense, as if the entire world was on fire.
Itachi opened his left eye and said, "Amaterasu."
The black flames quickly ignited on Leon and started to burn him.
Leon used water magic on himself to try to put out the flames, but it didn't work. Leon cried out in pain, begging for it to stop.
Itachi: "I thought you were going to kill me."
Itachi laughed as Leon burned.
Duke Elijah quickly rushed over to his son and begged Itachi to save him.
Duke Elijah: "I'll cancel the engagement. I'll give you my daughter, I'll give you anything, please, my lord, please."
Itachi just stood still, watching the Duke beg while his son burned.
Yuki: "Can you please spare him?"
Itachi looked at Yuki and said, "Alright."
Itachi: "Inferno Style - Flame Control."
The black flames vanished, and Leon was spared.
Later that same day, the Duke canceled Yuki and Leon's wedding.
Yuki went to Leon's room where he was resting.
Yuki: "Leon, I'm sorry. It's my fault."
Leon: "It's okay, Yuki."
Yuki: "Leon, we've been friends all my life, and I want to continue being your friend."
Leon: "Yuki, I've loved you since we were young, and I always will."
The two continued to talk about their childhood. Out of curiosity, Leon asked Yuki what the Demon King wanted.
Yuki let Leon in on the truth about her engagement to the Demon King. Leon couldn't believe what he was hearing.
Leon: "That explains why he rushed over here. From what I've heard, the Demon King is great but lazy."
Yuki giggled.
"What's so funny?" Itachi asked her.
Yuki and Leon turned around in shock.
Yuki: "How long have you been there?"
Itachi: "Not long. Let's go."
Leon: "When will I see you again, Yuki?"
Itachi: "You'll see her soon, don't worry. And sorry about that. I was upset."
Leon: "It's okay. You are the Demon King."
Itachi: "That's the thing. I should be protecting my people, not hurting them."
Leon: "My lord."
