THIRTY EIGHT: DOUBTS AND SIGNS IV

[SHAIRA's POINT OF VIEW]

"Honey, are you going to eat them now?" Jhotam asked, trying to reach my hand, but I moved an inch further.

"Why are you asking? I brought it with me and not in the kitchen, so obviously, I'll consume them," I replied as I rolled my eyes.

Jhotam scratched his nape and loosened his tie. Then, he sat on the edge of the bed. I simply watched his action and was surprised when he leaned his head on my tummy. I gulped as his hands caressed my bump.

"My angel, aren't you sleepy? You made mommy awake all night," he said. Then, my husband kissed my baby bump, which made me confused. Whether I should be happy or remain upset, I can't pick what mood I should go to.

I cleared my throat and stood up to lie on the bed. Then, I replied, "It's your fault. I'm still awake because of you."

"Also, eat this by yourself. I lose my appetite," I added.
