Changes In The Jungle

In Blake's cave, Joe was practicing his new skill based on what Blake explained to him, but with some significant changes in the energy manipulation part.

Joe believes that since his class isn't a magic-type class, he should have much more difficulty learning and practicing any energy manipulation. Therefore, he decided to shorter the consumption of his own spiritual energy by decreasing the amount used to guide the energy.

It may increase the instability, but since he only needs to expel energy from the set being absorbed, it was worth a try.

Therefore, he was able to practice for a longer time at once, which allow him to improve faster.

At night time that day, Joe had already achieved the first step for both skills. 1% in energy manipulation and 5% in energy perception.

...

On the morning of the next day:

"So you are leaving today?" Blake said to Joe during their breakfast.

"Hey, don't act as if it is a big deal. I will be back before night and I will, hopefully, be accompanied." Joe responded.

"Sure, good luck."

After finishing breakfast, Joe direct went to the jungle in search of people to join his alliance.

Meanwhile, inside the cave, Blake was thinking about his research on insects he started.

'Based on my observations, not all mosquitoes can reproduce. Some mosquitos look like they feed from plants, while others from blood.

'Moreover, just the ones that feed from blood can reproduce.

'I still don't know how to isolate the undead energy before the eggs turned into undead. Because if they turned into undead, they won't grow into a mosquito, so they are useless.

'I think I will have to go to the forced method. I will try to control the undead energy outside the eggs before they transform the eggs.

'I should be able to improve my undead energy manipulation skill in the process, right?'

Blake then started his experiments with the undead eggs.

...

A the same time, Joe, who was walking randomly in the jungle, found a human. He was tall and strong.

The man was also walking in the jungle but with each step he made, a burned mark was left on the floor.

He was Adam.

When Joe saw it, his eyes were filled with greed.

'I have to have this guy in the alliance.'

The pressure that Adam was transmitting, with the hot breeze coming from him and the confidence he shows in his posture, was extremely intimidating.

Joe direct went near Adam and said.

"Excuse me, I am Joe. Rank 85. May I know who you are?"

Adam direct stared at him coldly, as if he was annoyed with Joe's presence.

"Adam, rank 97." He answered after some time.

"Oh so you are the Adam I heard of. I was with Blake just now, he told me about you."

"Blake? Who?"

"He is the rank 100, he was in your group."

"Yhea, I remember. But I don't remember interacting with him for more than a few seconds. What could he have told you about me? I have more things to do, bye." Adam just said indifferently and turn around to walk away.

"Ok ok, I will be direct. Me and Blake are starting an alliance. Wanna join?" Joe said quickly before Adam could move away.

"I don't need it, I prefer to do things alone."

"Ok, I understand. See you around."

"I hope not."

Both of them then parted ways and followed different paths. Joe continued in search of more people.

...

At other part of the jungle Absko was surround by goblins. He didn't wait them make a move, and quickly attacked the goblin in front.

The goblin was holding a sword, but the moment his sword crashed with Absko's, he skilly change his sword angle to unbalance Absko.

However, Absko continue his movement as a dance and used his hand to strike the goblin in the neck.

The goblin lost air and tried to create distance while the other goblins who were surrounding Absko attacked him from the back.

Absko then threw a stone knife into this goblin's hand and rolled in the goblin's direction.

He took the sword, that had just fallen from the goblin's hand, in his free hand.

He positioned his arms crossing each other while closing his eyes. He then inputted a lot of mana into both swords in his hands.

The goblin in front of him, looked with despair while the other goblins were just a few centimeters from Absko, already trying to stab him in the back with stone knives.

When Absko direct cut the goblin in front of his using the swords as scissors and continued the movement while increasing his arms momentum until the two swords cross each other on Absko's back. In the process, he killed all the goblins trying to stable him.

When Absko opened his eyes again there was only one goblin remaining. But, at that moment, a small hole appeared on the goblin's head.

The goblin's bodies just fell lifeless on the floor.

"Congratulations Absko, you completed the move you've been practicing.

It's funny how it only took you one day to create such a mortal skill" Michael's voice resonate in the air, but Absko couldn't see him with his eyes.

"What is that? Are you trying to change your class from a Batlle Archmage to an Archer or something?" Absko said in the direction he sensed Michael with his "Mana Perception" skill.

"I think I'm more like a Sniper right now. I can't lose to you in terms of development. A Battle Archmage should be versatile, so very long-distance damage is very important."

"Sure, but have you already found the next goblin's village?"

"Follow me."

Absko then inputted mana in his feet and ran so fast in Michael's direction that some marks were left on the floor.

Meanwhile, Sophia found the group she was with before being hit by a goblin.

"Hey, I finally found you guys." Sophia said enthusiastically.

"Hey, Sophia, I missed you so much. How is your stomach?" The girl with a sword answered.

She is Herta, a swordsman (or swordswoman) ranked 8 in the game.

"Herta, I also missed you. But why is Liam ignoring me?" Sophia asked with a puzzled face.

"He is resentful because you got scared of him while fighting the goblin" Herta answered holding her laugh.

Liam, who was just on the side leaning on a tree, and staring at the two girls talking, changed his appearance to his blond hair and green eyes self.

Sophia's face, when she saw the transformation, changed from pity to shock.

Liam then walked slowly in Sophia's direction, and she continued to stare at him while smiling unconsciously.

"That's my true appearance, Sophia. That's how I used to look in the simulation." Liam said while he kept walking.

Liam then got very near Sophia and said in a low voice:

"I missed you."

Sophia's face got as red as a tomato, and Herta's face was in shock. She never expected Liam to use his class just to flirt. She showed anger and envy.

However, suddenly, Liam changed back to his normal self.

Sophia got so scared that fell on her butt screaming.

"YOU SEE? I HATE MY APPEARANCE! AAAHHHH" Liam screamed in frustration, while Herta laughed out loud.

In the castle hall, John and Julia were supervising the training.

"It seems it is time to increase the difficulty." John broke the silence.

"John, don't you think it is too early? Some of them may already be able to kill those goblins easily. But most of them are still adapting and just started to make a significant improvement in their class."

"We are already at war, we don't have time to waste. Besides, at this points the goblins will soon be completely annihilated by those that have already developed their classes.

"They need an increase in difficulty to keep improving."

John ignored Julia's opinion and put one of his fingers in one of his ears.

"Initiate the second level."

"Ignorant Brat" Julia said with remorse.

"What we need to do is not keep the difficult according to their strength, it is to increase the difficulty to force their strength to increase."

"And what if it doesn't increase?"

"They are the hundred selected from ten billion, it won't happen."
