Interrogation

Last night…

"Mr. Jerry Su?"

"Who are you?" Jerry asked, raising his guard for combat. He was returning home after a long day at work when two black cars blocked his motorcycle. Now three men approached him. "Did I offend someone? I also don't remember if I have debts to anyone."

"If you did nothing wrong, you will come with us peacefully and answer our boss' questions."

"Your boss?" Jerry's brows arched.

"We won't harm you if you cooperate with us," said one man in a black suit.

"What if I don't go with you? Would you force me?" Jerry challenged. He casually looked around, calculating his next moves to escape from the men blocking his way. Then someone spoke from the car.

"Stop resisting, Jerry. We only have a few questions for you. That's all. Get in."

At that point, Jerry abandoned his motorcycle, walked to the car, and climbed inside. He saw one man riding on his bike. He shot a dagger, warning him to be careful of his sweetheart.

Jerry took the seat across the name in a navy suit. "Attorney Dillion Javier… I don't recall we were acquaintances, sir."

His voice was calm, but he wasn't polite at all. Instead, Jerry's voice was full of sarcasm. When Attorney Dillion spoke, he immediately understood whose boss wanted to interrogate him.

Jerry Su, as a chauffeur and, at the same time, a secret bodyguard at the Dragon Empire Hotel, all employees like him possess extraordinary skills because their salary is handsome. Also, the hotel was owned by someone who ran a security agency where their qualified applicants underwent special training.

Before he appeared in the hotel, he attended a program under the Williams Security Agency. He has to train physically and mentally for six months; some extend their training to one year, depending on their performance.

The hotel wishes for the safety of its guests since most of them are distinguished people and make requests upon making arrangements for their visit to the country. It is why Jerry is not afraid to fight these men to protect himself. After all, his agency protected him. He didn't do wrong, so he has nothing to fear.

"What do you want to know?"

Dillion lifted the corner of his mouth when Jerry did not beat around the bush. He replied, "I assume you already have an idea why I wish to speak with you."

Jerry beamed. "I will reply to your question if I have the answer for them."

"Hmm... Jerry, you are acting hard to get, and I know because the agency taught you well. But remember, my boss is a major shareholder in WSA, which means he is also your boss, even if it is indirect. So your loyalty must pledge for him."

Jerry grimaced and said, "Then let's not beat around the bush, Attorney Javier."

"Tsk." Dillon adjusted his eyeglass. "Alright. Let's begin."

Dillion ordered the driver to drive. Along the lone road exiting the city, he commenced interrogating Jerry. "For the first question... Why are you following Mr. Florian? You have to explain this without leaving any information."

Attorney Dillion's firm tone intimidated Jerry and sent a chill down his spine. When he began working in the hotel, he noticed that this man had been in and out of the building for business meetings with known firms. Hence, he was aware he should not mess up with him.

However, he is loyal. Even though he just met Krishna, he has a better judgment of someone and is confident that she is a good person. "I'm sorry, Attorney Javier. I am loyal to my work."

"Work? Like what? To stalk someone?"

Jerry remained his mouth shut. Although Dillion hit the nail-head, he would confess nothing. Besides, he was determined not to leak any information.

"Do you want us to use force before you confess? Aren't you afraid of losing your job?" Dillon threatened him.

Jerry reflects on Dillion's words. And he knew very well what this lawyer could do to him. While Dillion Javier holds a position in this society, he is a mere chauffeur.

Even so, he is a man with words and thinks of Krishna as his boss. Therefore, he showed he wasn't threatened. He told Dillion, "If I am going to be treated this way. Then do as pleases your boss. Besides, we are doing this with good intentions."

Dillion raised a brow. He wondered if Jerry realized he had just spilled very good beans out of the can. But as he studied his eyes full of determination, he could tell that he was an honest man.

"Then why don't you share it with me if you have good intentions?" Dillion insisted. He was also determined to carry out his job well. "Maybe we can't work together."

"Are you for real?" Jerry chuckled. But then the smug smile on his face faded. "No. I swore not to tell any soul. Besides, I am in no position to reveal it."

"Is that so?" Dillion was gazing at Jerry with such intimidation in his eyes, sizing him up. "How much do you want? My boss will pay you any amount. Just name your price."

"Do I look like someone out of money?"

Dillion admired Jerry's loyalty. He felt regret that they hadn't had an errand man like him.

"Aren't you afraid of what my boss does to you and your family?" This time, Dillion has to use another method. For the same reason, he uses great lengths to get what his boss wants. Otherwise, this talk could have yet to progress. So he carries on, "It will save our time if you confess now. I know you are smart. You would not prefer that we will use force on you. Right?"

Until the end, Dillion just wanted to use less strength and energy to deal with Jerry. He knew anyone from the Williams Security Agency was a great fighter. What a waste if they beat him. But it would be such a shame if he defeated them alone.

This sort of talent, Dillion, wants Jerry to sign up with them. Thus, he stayed calm and barely threatened the man.

"You heard me. I pledge my loyalty to my client." On the other hand, Jerry remained true to his words.

Seeing that Jerry would not give any information, Dillion must proceed with another interrogation tactic. There was another reason he was soft on Jerry. His female cousin had liked him a lot. If it's another person, he has already ordered someone to beat up this man. He was not his type to give up easily, but Jerry's toughness left Dillion no choice.

"Alright…" Dillion sighed. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed a particular contact. "Come over here."

The car pulled over on the side of the road. Not a minute had passed, and the door of the van opened. Jerry was dismayed to see the person come in.

"You..."

"I'm sorry, Jerry. The things you ask me are the same case in my hand." The woman explained as soon as her bottom touched the car seat.

"Then why didn't you tell me you were also investigating this?" Jerry sneered in his heart. This woman knew everything.

"I signed a contract not to expose my mission. Since you need the same information, I just went with the flow," she said.

Jerry was speechless. However, he couldn't get annoyed with her because he took advantage of the fact that this girl liked him.

They were both under the same agency and trained together. But he applied as a secret bodyguard disguised as a chauffeur while Neeta was on call to any job assigned by the agency, such as working as a secret agent.

"Alright. The person who asked me to follow Mr. Florian is Miss Krishna."

Dillion and Neeta shared a knowing look. Before the former could utter, the latter had already spat a question.

"What did she try to achieve? Is she a spy or something?" They ordered her to follow Krishna's movement in the city, but she was unaware of why she had to do the job. She only had information that the person who hired her suspected Krishna was Florian's mistress; thus, she needed to gather the evidence they were together. But in the passing days, Krishna was only around with George Graham, not Florian Graham. So who is whom?

With Neeta's interrogation, Jerry shrugged a shoulder and then returned to throw a question. He asked, "If she is a spy, would she need my help? Wouldn't she choose to investigate on her own?"

Both Dillion and Neeta concurred with Jerry's opinion. His point is correct.

"Then? Why does she need Mr. Florian's whereabouts, like my boss?"

"Well... It's not Mr. Florian that Miss Krishna wanted me to locate, but Mr. Florian's girlfriend." Jerry replied to Neeta's question.

"Girlfriend? Doesn't Mr. Florian have a wife?" Neeta's gaze shifted back and forth between Dillion and Jerry. Her cousin Dillion simply assigned her to this job.

"Jerry, something is amiss with your statement. Are you saying Miss Palermo is searching for Mr. Florian's girlfriend?" The man seated in the passenger seat, who remained silent the whole time, suddenly spoke. It was Benny.

Listening to the entire interrogation, he couldn't remain silent, as he was confused. He pondered, 'Isn't Miss Palermo Mr. Florian's girlfriend? Then what is going on? Did the boss only mistake her for someone? Boss, what can you say now?'

As Benny drifts into his reverie, Neeta and Jerry continue conversing while Dillion remains quiet. No one knows what was on his mind.

After being reluctant to leak any information, Jerry finally gives in. He told them, "Mr. Florian's girlfriend is Miss Krishna's best friend. She avoids meeting Miss Krishna, so I was requested to locate the address she was hiding."

"Huh?"

Meanwhile, at the Ocean View Country Club...

The man by the window, holding a glass of wine, listening to the interrogation through his AirPods, suddenly froze when he heard Jerry's confession.

"Dillion..."

After he had heard enough, he instructed Dillion to finish the interrogation and return to the club.

When Dillion arrived, he found his boss lounging in the long chaise with legs crossed and holding a wine glass.

"Sir, I've mentioned before that she is innocent." He did not wait for George to question him. He immediately gave his opinion regarding tonight's investigation.

George's handsome face revealed displeasure. After contemplating for a moment, he laughed crazily. When he calmed down, the expression on his face was replaced with a sneer.

"We can't be sure yet. Who knows if someone actually sent her to seduce me, and I fell directly into her hands since I was bothering her? Isn't it ironic? Before I knew it, she had already succeeded in wrapping me in her tiny fingers. She was the bait I eagerly swallowed. Now I am hooked tightly. I killed her soon-to-be husband. She had reason to get close to me and seek revenge."

"But boss… You were only defending yourself back then. It was George Mendez who came to kill you."

George remained silent and chose not to reply to Dillion.
