CHAPTER 3 - (DON'T) LET HIM IN

Barely ten seconds had passed since the dancer ran away, and only five since Qiang came to his senses. The place was full of alpha pheromones, which were now a lot more intense than before, to the point that he was feeling nauseous. The crowd screamed angrily, blinded by their instincts and the delicious scent the omega had left behind him.

“Bring the red-haired back, f*ck!”

“Bring that bitch in heat back so I can mount it! “

He didn’t listen. He simply got up from his seat and ran, trying to go after the omega. Nobody stopped him, the bar’s security was as knocked out as the others: having a dancer suddenly go into heat in front of everybody must be something unusual and quite hard to process considering their delicate animal instincts… but when multiple alphas, trying to follow Xiè, got up from their seats, they finally moved to stop them. However, Qiang had already managed to slip through.

As soon as he got to the dark corridor which led to the stage, he ran into two omegas who did not hide the surprise in their faces as they saw him. Both guys turned white as they felt the aggressiveness of his pheromones and, both scared and confused, stepped aside to let him pass. The alpha didn’t pay any attention to them as he just passed them by and continued to follow the strong scent coming from one of those rooms, making him lose his damn mind.

The redhead could not be far. He could smell him closer each step, at least until it suddenly… disappeared.

Xiè Qiang stopped dead.

What the hell just happened?

Had the omega suppressed his heat?

How the f*ck had he deared to do it after meeting for the first time?

After finding the one destined for you and going into heat they were both supposed to mate, at least sexually. But no, this little son of a bitch had decided to run away and, for some reason, that made Qiang’s animal side even angrier and, not knowing which scent to follow now, he was feeling pretty lost. He could notice some omegas around him giving him a distrustful and scared look, all of them except one, the one who observed him from behind with an arrogant grin on his face.

“Are you looking for the redhead?” he asked, with a soft, calmed and gentle voice, but also a dark hint in it, which did not inspire any trust at all.

Turning over to see who that strange person was, he found a pair of light brown eyes, almost amber. Two beautiful eyes which carried anything but safety. A look both passive and dangerous.

The red lights in the nightclub didn’t allow him to see much of it, but he could still distinguish a grey and slightly wavy medium-length hairstyle with dark roots, showing his natural hair color. It would have been given away by his eyebrows had these not been covered by his messy bangs.

This guy had such a delicate beauty, as well as most of his kind, but he was also surrounded by a threatening aura which Qiang did not like one bit. The boy observed him, leaning on the wall with such a calmed look that it made the already troubled alpha even more enraged.

“Where is he?” Qiang asked in a demanding tone, as an order.

The other one laughed softly, as if hiding something, making the alpha even angrier.

“Stop laughing if you don’t want me to break your f*cking nose and tell me where he is”.

The grey-haired boy's smile grew, as if he were having fun with it, and without moving much he just pointed to the end of the hallway.

“The third room to the right” he answered, observing satisfied the distrustful look in Qiang’s eyes, as he turned around to go into the mentioned room.

He walked firmly to the place but, as he tried to open the door, he realised it had been locked from the inside. Feeling even angrier, he knocked hard, waiting for the person inside to open it, but no one did.

“Open the door” he ordered.

Nobody asked and Qiang growled frustrated, deciding to use his dominant voice. He was not planning on leaving that f*cking door until they let him in.

“Open the damn door” he repeated “Now”.

He remained silent and listened, hearing a soft groan full of pain and despair coming from the room. A few seconds later, the door was opened, allowing him to see an unknown face and, obviously, not the one he was looking for. He could not smell a thing, so he was definitely not an employee, and for the way he was looking at the alpha, he was not a client either. He might be the boss, and he didn’t seem to be willing to let him in.

“Clients are not allowed to be here”.

Yes, he was definitely the boss.

The fact that he was the boss made no difference to him, he could not talk to Qiang like that, especially while keeping his omega in that shitty place.

“Get out of my way”.

Qiang demanded, and the beta felt his deep voice everywhere. He might not be able to smell his threatening alpha scent easily, but still his appearance was enough to make him feel intimidated. F*ck, where the hell was security? Didn’t they see him get in?

“N-no…” he answered, hesitant “go away, you can’t be here”.

Qiang didn’t answer, but the look on his face stayed the same. However, he was clearly frustrated, and Wang knew that making an angry alpha feel that way could be very dangerous.

Xiè ignored his words: he was not going to waste his time on someone like him, so he simply pushed him and got inside. He didn’t even look at him while doing so, he was not in the mood for games. The beta didn’t talk again. He just stayed there, not knowing what to do at that point.

Slowly, he walked towards the omega who was almost naked, laying on the floor and shaking next to his own vomit. The scene was at least repulsive, very different if compared to the sexy redhead he had just witnessed dancing on stage. Qiang did not hide his disgust. Still, something inside him made him feel compassion towards the omega, but he was not sure whether it was his alpha side or his true self. In moments like that one, where his instincts took control, both parts of him were intertwined.

“Open the damn door. Now”.

Shen folded onto himself and groaned as he heard that deep voice making him break his will. F*ck, he really hated that ability alphas had, he hated how he would shudder each time they used it, and above all he hated how it could subdue him. He told Wang to open the door because he had to, his instincts pushed him to do so, and it was painful to ignore it. It was nerve-racking. He tried to get up, but the beta stopped him.

“What are you doing? don’t move”.

“Let him in! - he whispered, exhausted”.

Wang was stone cold. He could not understand such a reaction. It made sense considering that his condition as a beta did not allow him to feel the power which that voice had over the redhead.

“What? No!”

“Open the door”.

“Huang Shen…”

His voice… he could still hear it and feel it in his body. He had to obey.

“Open the damn door!” He claimed using all the strength he had left, which was not much.

The beta stopped. Now he really could not understand a thing, but he was afraid of the situation getting worse if he didn’t open it.

“Are you sure?”

F*ck, no. Of course he wasn’t, but he couldn’t help it. Incapable of speaking, he nodded twice. As soon as the beta moved, Shen was lying down again on the floor with a terrible headache, which kept getting worse as a result of the horrible and contradictory inner fight going on in his head. He just wanted to leave, but his whole body hurt, and his most vulnerable and primitive side insisted on staying right there and waiting for his alpha. Still, as he walked in, he left aside his needs and instincts and felt full of rage and disgust. A bunch of emotions all mixed up were making the redhead even more confused than he already was due to his dizziness.

However, that confusion did not stop him from realising that man’s arrogant attitude, so typical coming from one of his kind, as he pushed his boss and looked at him in disgust lying on the floor. Unintentionally, his heart sunk as he saw that simple reaction from the one who was supposed to be his destined partner. His instincts and his inner omega were hurt by it, and it made him feel disgusted.

Ignoring that shameful scene, the alpha approached him and picked him up, not caring at all about the stripper and how sick he must be feeling.

“N-o, no, no…” he whined, powerless as he was lifted up by this stranger, feeling his head spinning, a warning that he might throw up again soon. He closed his eyes to stop it.

Xie Qiang didn’t listen and grabbed him by the waist to put his arm around his shoulders. The redhead tried to resist and stop him, but he was too dizzy to do so.

“L-let me go… Ugh!”

He ignored him again, and Shen felt terribly helpless. He hated that situation, hated working there and above all he hated that damn alpha who had tried to claim him as his own only to satisfy his instincts and sexual desire. If he were not in such a terrible state, he would punch that asshole until he’d seen him bleed and, of course, he would not let him carry him as he was now doing.

God, he didn’t know where the alpha was planning on going now, but he definitely didn’t want to go with him. Luckily for Shen, Wang decided to courageously stand in their way, blocking the door.

“Step aside if you don’t want me to cut you to pieces and throw you in the f*cking dumpster”.

Those words left the beta immobile. It was not the first time someone threatened him, it was actually quite common as he was the boss of such a business in a neighbourhood with not the best reputation, but none of the others seemed as real as this one. His lips started to tremble a bit, followed by his legs, but still he didn’t move at all. This was partly because he was supposed to keep his employees safe and also because he was paralized.

“P-put him on the floor”.

He managed to say, even though his voice sounded hesitant, giving away, in case it was not obvious, the terror the alpha was making him feel. Qiang clearly noticed and a threatening smile appeared on his face, emotionless, matching his stone-cold stare, and making the beta shiver. He came closer and closer until they were face to face, making evident their height difference. He was then about to answer and leave the place with his omega, but he decided to speak again.

“I-I’m going to throw up…” he said in a pitiful groan, catching the alpha’s attention and causing him to frown, disgusted.

Well, maybe carrying around someone in such a deplorable state was not the best idea. Besides, he went to the club to disconnect from reality, to escape from his sickening problems with sex and alcohol, so looking for new conflicts in his resting place did not seem to be the best option. He could still wait for him outside and corner him when he was alone.

“Fine” he finally said, and with no compassion he dropped the omega, letting his body hit the ground. Then, Wang moved and allowed him to go. Before leaving, Qiang grabbed him firmly by his shoulder and whispered in his ear “but be assured that this is not how it ends”.

The beta swallowed hard and stayed firm in his place until the alpha disappeared, feeling the air coming back to his lungs.

Well f*ck, what the hell did he just got himself into?
