Ethan POV
"I sent the hairstylist the location. She should be there soon. As for the marriage certificate, it's being prepared as we speak right now. You and the bride only need to sign it and you and Petal will be legally married. Congratulations." Alexander said before he ended the call. A hint of sadness was evident in his voice.
Making sure that the phone was in a good mood, I put it back in my pocket and walked towards the guest room where the Petal dress was kept. She's in a deep sleep, unaware of the surprise I'm preparing for her. I have been planning this for three weeks now and Alexander helped me with it. He'll keep bragging about it but I know exactly how to return the favor.
Looking at the white dress, I felt nervous. I rarely felt nervous about anything but everything regarding Petal always makes me nervous. But I'm positive that she'll like the surprise or that's what I'm hoping. And all I have to do is wait and it's easier said than done.
An hour later everything was ready, the hairstylist team had arrived, and the marriage certificate also was sent by Alexander's men. Now the only thing that was left was to wake up the bride.
Climbing the stairs, I headed towards the bedroom, where Petal was safely sleeping protected by the dogs. I slowly opened the door and stepped inside the room, I walked towards the bed, taking off my shoes, I joined her in the bed.
Petal was sleeping on her right side, one hand under the pillow and the other close to her chest. She looked so beautiful sleeping like this I almost gave up on the idea of waking her up but I have to.
Reaching to push her hair away from her face, I lowered my head, pressing a kiss on her cheek and immediately her eyelashes fluttered open. She looked at me with a confused look, still sleepy.
"Good morning," I said, using the signing language because she wasn't wearing her hearing aids.
During the time Petal was in a coma, I spent most of my time learning sign language. I wanted to understand her more and be part of the silent world she lives in.
"Good morning," Petal replied, signaling.
She turned to look at the time and then looked back at me.
"Are you going out?" She asked, signaling.
"No," I replied, signaling. And then helped her to sit on the bed."I have a surprise for you." I said, signaling.
Petal smiled at me even before knowing what the surprise was.
"What is it?" She asked, signaling. excited already.
I laughed at her cute yet sweet reaction. This was a good start. I thought to myself.
"Go take a shower and get dressed. After that, I'll tell you." I replied, signaling.
"Aren't we going to shower together?" She asked, signaling.
It was our morning routine to shower together. But yesterday we overdid it and I'm sure that she's sore.
"I'm afraid that I won't be able to hold myself back. " I replied, signaling.
Last night she was extra sweet and I couldn't have enough of her.
Petal blushed and nodded her head before she left the bed walking towards the bathroom. She turned to look at me and said.
"I'm carving a lemon and mint juice, Can you prepare one for me?" She said signaling.
"Of course," I replied signaling. I'm a little confused.
Petals hate bitter juices in the morning. No waiting time, I went downstairs and prepared the juice for her along with a light breakfast with it. By the time I went back to the room, she was already done showering and drying her hair.
I placed the food tray on the table waiting for her. I didn't want to rush. I want her to enjoy this day as much as she can.
Petal came out of the bathroom and walked towards the table, she took a seat across from me, still wearing her bathrobe.
"Thank you." She said, signaling before she picked up the cup of lemon juice.
"Is it good?" I asked, reaching to push her hair back.
Petal nodded her head as she started eating her food. After she finished her breakfast. I took her downstairs. I didn't let her change out of her bathrobe, she didn't need to because she will wear her wedding dress.
"Now I'm going to show you the surprise," I said to her as we climbed down the stairs.
Petal looked at me excited to know. "Did you bring a new puppy?" She asked me once we reached the foot of the stairs.
"No." I replied, kissing her forehead and leading her toward the guest room.``I'll bring it to you soon." I add.
Reaching the guest room. I turned to look at Petal and said…"You always say that you want a simple wedding. Just you and me. Do you remember that?" I asked, staring into her beautiful hazel eyes.
Petal stared at me for a few seconds before her eyes widened, understanding the hint. Tears filled her eyes. Happiness treats.
"Yes. We are going to get married today." I said as I wiped her tears."We're already legally married." I add as I took out the marriage certificate from my pocket, showing it to her
Petal touched the part where her name was. Petal Wilson.
"I'm your wife now." She asked, signaling.
I didn't know if she was asking or stating it but I answered her anyway.
"Yes, and I'm your husband now." I pulled her closer by the waist and she rested her head on my chest. Trying to comprehend everything that's happening. It was a lot for her to handle.
We needed this after everything we've been through.
