¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦

After that shocking declaration from the "Dragon Princess" and the huge commotion that followed which put me in a tight and awkward situation that was fortunately handled by grandpa Sylv one way or another, the welcoming/opening ceremony finally concluded.

Of course, the commotion did not stop just because of that as rumors are already spreading like wild fire and I don't doubt that even the royals from the other kingdoms and even the other continents' were already made aware of this matter.

How? Well simple. In my two short days of wandering around the capital's crowded street, I was already made aware of things that are considered quite common in this city, as well as the others territories in this continent.

For example, all establishments in this capital and majority of the kingdoms as well their territories are already in use of electricity which powered all their lightings as well as the basic tools and equipments which the people use in their everyday lives, so the atmosphere and the level of technology here is kind of a mix of the late medieval era for the styles of architecture and the early 90s for their technological level, so I can already spot some high-rise buildings from time to time. And surprisingly, clear glass is already in use, not like what's normally depicted in some isekai and fantasy novels.

The only difference is that they haven't have cars or any similar constructs developed as of yet because of the reason that as technology advances, magic is already ahead of it by several levels.

They have already developed mana powered ships which can sail through the air and are extremely, but those transports are only available for the nobility and some major and influential merchants, so there is also a type of transportation developed for the commoners use as well as for those with lower status than nobility.

They are still being pulled by horses or some other tamed beasts, but they are much faster than normal carriages as they literally levitate above the ground because of the enchantments done during the production process, so the problem of bumpy roads and getting an uncomfortable ride is already solved, and this even became popular to the nobilities. As, even though they have access to the mana ships, they still have to travel inside the city, but the council have already made their point that flying inside or above is prohibited, so they have to make use of another alternative, that's why they turned to the levitating carriages and left their mana ships at the dock that is specially built for the purpose of parking the mana ships.

But these are not the main issue or the most troubling matter.

What I'm trying to point out is that because of their technological level as well as their magical advantages, they have already developed a mean for communications via communication arrays and enchanted items that can even be used to send messages to even across the continents... So yeah, I'm f*cked.

The last thing I want is an angry papa dragon that will come knocking at my doorstep for a death match with his daughter's hand as the wager... how can I guess of this?

Well, we're dragons and it's in our blood to be a battle maniac, that, I have already proven for several times as I just can't get myself to say no to a good fight.

So yeah, I'm already preparing myself for the worse as any day from now, an angry mob of dragons will surely be up on my tail.

Welp, let's get back to the matter at hand... I'll just with what's to come when they come... somehow, any way or another... Just hope that I come out unscathed 'cause I can't say to come out alive because I can't really die.

Where was I?... Oh yeah.

I'm currently seated in a large room that is decorated with the owner in mind as it is like a mini library in here, but the touch of grandeur and elegance is still present, especially so when the type of color scheme is like this. White walls with soft and comfortable sofa set in a semi-circular formation, facing the desk, where an old man with grey hair that couldn't stop himself from chuckling since we got here.

Rows of bookshelves decorated the room to the side, a few accessories and furniture here and there, and a small chandelier in the middle of the ceiling.

Currently, seven people are seated as their expressions differ from one another.

The groups from the dragon island, the two guardians, who have an amused yet complicated expressions on their faces, someone that looks to be in the same age as me who have mischievous glints pass his eyes from time to time and a teasing smirk on his lips, a dragon girl who's blushing while clinging to my arm strongly as she glared poutingly at the other, an old man who keeps on trying to stiffle his laughter but was clearly ineffective as he sends me some looks that really annoys me, a man that have helplessness written across his face, and finally, me who have a complicated expression stuck on my face as I have been trying to process and analyze on what kind of sh*tty situation I got myself into.

*Sigh*

Unconsciously, a sigh escaped me to which, grandpa Sylv finally got ahold of himself as he released a breath of air, trying to catch up to his breath.

"So... First, let's all begin with the introductions shall we? It's best to know the ones' we are talking with than just to discuss blindly especially with a matter of such importance as this, so I'll start."

Grandpa Sylv said and stood up from his seat.

"You may have already heard some informations about me, but let me introduce myself formally. I go by the name of Sylverious Silvhestre, the Dean, and the previous head of the Silvhestre house of nobility, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance~."

Granpa introduced himself with a slight bow, more formally now as his aloofness slightly lessened, but his tone is still the same as well as his "permanent" smile never leaving his face.

Following him, Marcus who was standing by his side, stepped forward.

"The Vice-dean and a part of the Reanous house of nobility, Marcus Reanous, a pleasure."

Marcus, apparently the vice-dean which also explained his attitude towards grandpa Sylv, introduced himself in a more direct way.

"Guess it is our turn next."

One of the guardians from the Dragon Island said as both stood up.

Now that I took a good look at them closely, they look extremely similar to each other. The only difference is that the other is a man and the other one is a woman, all looked to be in their mid thirties.

They both have black hair and two prominent horns on their foreheads, mettalic black in color that shines with a unique glint.

"I'm called Shaya, royal guard of the line of Asmodeious."

The male dragon said.

"I'm called, Lua, royal guard of the line of Asmodeious, and we two are the guardians tasked for the protection of the two princes and the princess."

"And I'm the crowned prince and successor of the throne for the kingdom of Dragons, Dragonariah. Aultrec Asmodeious, a pleasure. Oh, right. The other one who's not here is named Clarret Asmodeious, the second prince, please pardon his absence, he's a little... wild."

He introduced himself and also the one who is absent, who most likely have gone to wander around the institute ground.

He's got short red hair that only reached his nape, not like his sister's who have scarletlong hair, two sharp looking similarly red curved horns that looks mettalic, quite tall and might even be taller than me by a few centimeters, good-looking as espected of the Royal bloodline, but with silver eyes and slotted pupils.

"Okay I'm next~!"

The dragon girl who have been clinging on my arm from the beginning happily stated as she stood up.

Hm, now I feel like I just lost something... The soft and warm feeling pressing my ar...

'Snap out of it you dumbass!!! What am I even thinking?! This blasted teen hormones.... I blame you for this!'

"I'm the sole princess of Dragonariah, Altreah Asmodeious, pleased to meet all of you~! E-especially you, h-husband...!"

She said as calmly at first but immediately turned extremely red the moment she faced me, and even called me husband!

' Th-the f*ck?! And why are you even blushing?! You're the one who put us in this situation and you're the one who's madly blushing?! Now even my face is getting extremely hot! Dammit!'

Grandpa Sylv as well as Altec burst out in laughter while the others tried their hardest to suppress their voices, this made the two of us even more embarrassed and the princess, Altreah threw herself to me so hard that I only barely caught her as she tried to hide her face on my chest and locked me in a strong grip that I doubt I could resist my bones from breaking if I don't possess the physiology of a dragon!

"This.... This is too... funny!!! Hahaha..."

Prince Aultrec exclaimed as he rolled on the sofa while clutching his stomach so hard from laughing.

"Hahahaha~! In-indeed! Youngsters these days.... Haha haha! So bold~!"

Grandpa Sylv agreed between his laughter as he kept slamming his hand on his desk with the other clutching his stomach.

These comments made me cursed the two on my mind as I'm the one suffering from the the death grip this girl is performing!

'Curse you.... You two idiots!'

The others were still suppressing their laughter and turned to the side and tried to hide their faces.

'Oi oi oi oi!!! Can please stop already?! I swear I'm going to get all my bones broken here by this girl!.... Hey, hey! Is she biting me now too?!'

I glared at grandpa Sylv's direction and made sure that he saw me doing so but he just laughed it off, the same with the others and the prince even gave me a thumbs up! ...The dumb ass...

...

After a few minutes of the two baffoons' fit of laughter as I tried to keep myself from shouting and preventing my bones from breaking, the crowd finally calmed down, well... mostly.

Grandpa Sylv and the prince still have some occasional snickers and mine as well as the princess' faces are still slightly blushing... Oh, and don't forget that my body is still a little sore with my chest still stinging from time to time, courtesy of the dragon princess.

"Haha. As much as I like to have a good laugh, let's stop for now and continue with the introductions. If you may, brother-in-law~."

Thr prince was the first one to speak as he addressed me with a teasing smirk on the corner of his lips.

*Sigh*

I released a sigh as I stood up.

"I don't remember agreeing though... Anyway, I'm Kross. I'm an orphan for as long as I remember and have been training in the wild for two years until I decided to come to this capital, that's all."

Simple and direct.

That's my impromptu cover that I came up just a day ago. Well, I can't really just outright say that I'm reincarnated, now can I?

Besides, if I do say that... There's only two outcomes that can result from it.

One, they'll just laugh it off and consider it as my joke and maybe even deduce that I just don't want to reveal my true identity which, will only lead to more and more questions, so that's definitely a no go route.

And two, I'll be captured, strapped on a chair and be squeezed out of informations that I may have by some corrupt and greedy nobles or people of some cult. So it's also a no...

This is the only alternative that can work in this situation.

Come up with a decent but more believable background, tell them some truths which, I did.

All of what I said are true anyways, and there's no lies in it. So even if one of them have the ability to detect lies somehow, then I'm all clean.

Besides, it's not like I'm lying~. I'm just hiding some things... So it's not a deliberate lie.

The prince hummed for a moment with his eyes narrowed and turned towards the female guardian which returned his look and nodded.

The prince let out a sigh of relief as a smile grew on his face.

"Well then, my brother-in-law, it seems that all of what you said were true... But there seems to some things that you are hiding..."

He said and continued to eye me, but more relaxed now that he confirmed some of his thoughts.

'Phew... Nice thinking Kross... Nice thinking...There really is someone who can see through lies in this group...'

"Well, all of us have our own secrets... So it's normal."

I answered, trying to act as calmly as I can.

"Mhm. I can't deny that, now can I? All sentient beings do have things that they want to hide, even myself included... So now, all matters aside. This is the most crucial question of all that one wrong move, and your answer is inadequate, it may affect your whole future... So think wisely, and answer truthfully. "

He said as his expression grew solemn along with his tone which made me gulp.

'This... I... is he... Did he find something? Oh no... Maybe...'

Sweat started pouring from my back as I grew more nervous, if not for my unique skill, then no doubt I'm already shaking by now, that's for sure. I can even feel the grip of the princess on my arm tightened slightly, but that almost went unnoticed.

I don't know why this is happening, but my nervousness is getting stronger and stronger.

"So..."

He started, his expression became more serious.

"What do you think of my sister?"

"... Huh?"

-fin.
