Chapter 9: Author and Shopping Spree

Yun Shuangxue, her name would mean Cloud Frozen Snow. I personally named this character and write a long sad background story about her. 

She was a child born from a Barbarian of the north with his female slave. After her mother gave birth, she was thrown away in the freezing northern wilderness. Fortunately, a tundrastrider picked her up and took a great care of her. She was then adopted by the tundrastrider's family. 

Her peaceful life didn't last long. When she was in her tenth birthday, her adoptive family was ransacked by bandits and she was captured. She fetch a good price as a slave because she's still virgin little girl.

Because of her sickly condition and her Barbarian blood, no one would dare to buy her. Some believed that Barbarian was the bringer of misfortune, and thus ... despite she grow into a beautiful girl, no one dare to buy her. She become unsold goods and was passed to one slaver to another.

If there's no one willing to buy her when she reach 16, then she would be sold to a brothel. Her 16th birthday is 6th month this year, thus she was already lost all the hope in the world. But then Lin Wutang who couldn't no longer held his pent up desire came. He picked her as she was the most beautiful female slave in the tent. Yeah, you guess that totally right, she's the slave that the MC of my story bought. 

So that means this convoy is on their way to the Whitegold Capital City. But really ..., to thing that I would see Xue'er right now. She's different from what I imagined her to be. She's more beautiful in term of appearance, however, there was no sign of life or hope in her eyes.

In the story, she would be MC's greatest supporter as her talent bloomed in the most unexpected way. After Lin Wutang used her as a tool to release his pent-up desire, her Barbarian's bloodline awaken. That bloodline was the one which boosted her cultivation speed. She become a Silver-rank Warrior after only one year cultivating, probably the fastest cultivation speed ever in this world.

I write Lin Wutang without any characteristic of goody-two-shoes. He's selfish and lustful, after all he is former slum's pickpocket. Even though he become a Dragon King candidate, that criminal heart still imprinted deeply inside of him. And the way he treated his woman is ..., I don't know, he's not a gentleman at all, I think. 

Right, he's like a fat ugly bastard in a hentai doujin, he treated his partner only as a sex tool. But despite his un-kind treatment, Shuangxue devoted her body, mind, and soul to the MC. Probably because she grow dependence on him and after all he already claimed her body.

Somehow ..., I feel it's unfair for her. I know that this world is not all sunshine and rainbow, I was the one who write it, and I don't write it to be that kind of fairy tale. But still ..., she deserve better than this. She shouldn't be with the bastard of a MC!

Ah, the former Yang Xian is also a bastard but ..., he never forced himself on a girl. Not even to his clan maidservant, he's, this body is still virgin even now. For a noble young master who is a small-time villain in a certain story, I respect his self-control. 

Though, he's idiot when it come to winning over a girl. He thought 'all is fair in love and war'. So he tried to eliminate his love rival, and that means murder. What a troubling mentality. But that's the kind of bastard Yang Xian is.

Yun Shuangxue, if I bought her here then that'd mean she won't be with the protagonist. This mean that MC overall strength in his campaign would be severely weakened. But why should I care, I resided in the body of the person that he killed. And somehow, I personally had a bitter taste writing about him. Right, Xue'er doesn't need that bastard of a MC. She deserves better, I never think that I, myself is better than him ..., but I, at least, won't put her on harm.

"Slaver ..., I want this girl."

"This ..., Young Master are you--, ah no, certainly. This black-haired girl is our store most popu--"

"I know she's unsold goods from the rust in her collar. I'll buy her for 5 gold, do we have a deal?" MC bought her for ten gold, but I just cut it in half because I already know she's unsold goods.

"Young Master that won't do, after all ..."

"Do. We. Have. A. Deal?"

"..., a-as you wish then, it's a deal. Let's finish the contract."

Mu Ying then approached me with a female Wild Elf. I thought she would surely pick a Wood Elf, but a Wild Elf huh ..., I guess it's alright.

"So in the end you're still buying this girl."

"Erm, you know it's not like that. I don't buy her with ulterior motives or anything." 

I pulled her into a hug, but Mu Ying shook her head as she said.

"As I said before, I don't mind if you brought home few sisters for me. It's not that I reciprocate what are you doing. This girl ..., you there, open this cage!" 

"Certainly, Young Miss." the slaver beckoned his subordinate to open the cage.

"Come here, little sister. Don't be afraid ..., you'll be fine."

Mu Ying kneeled and calmed her who was hesitating. Yun Shuangxue crawled out of the cage, and then Mu Ying checked her pulse. Ah, I almost forget that she is an Apprentice Pharmacist. Though she mainly deal with medication, she might have the knowledge on how to diagnose a sick person. 

"Chillbone Fever, hmm ..., this will be difficult. Perhaps we need to visit the Apothecary again, Aram."

"Ah, un ..., let's do that then."

I paid all of them upfront, I spend three hundred gold on them. And 4/5 of the money was the price of the female slaves. There will be a master-slave ceremony after this. I don't quite like this, it's like binding them with magic and put on invisible collar. I think I am planning to release them from being slave not long after this.

"Young Master, we are ready for the Master-Slave Ceremony."

"Oh, right ..., can I use this orb as the talisman?"

I took one random glass marble bead, the big one and for some reason I took blood red bead and hand it over. The slaver widened his eyes as he received the bead, he handed it over to the Talisman Master and he also look interested.

"A perfect roundness of a ball, this is the first time I worked with something like this!" what the Talisman Master said.

I restrained my greed and not show it to Fang Tongxin because something like this is ultra-rare in this continent, while I have a ton of it. I don't know how much it worth but seeing the ecstatic Talisman Master, I could somehow guess that it's worth a lot.

They then collected drop of blood from the slave, half of the bowl was filled with the slaves' blood. The Talisman Master placed the bowl atop of a paper filled with diagram and geometrical pattern, put the marble bead, and then chanted some magical verse. It then lit up, the geometrical pattern and diagram in the paper glowing brightly with blood-red color. The blood was sucked into the marble. And the bead transformed, it now filled with magical rune on its surface.

"Young Master, you may drip your blood on this bead."

I dripped my blood into the bead. With this their life is in my hand, and they cannot disobey me. Urgh, but why it feels so heavy in my chest.

I asked the slaver to put off their collar. I then brought the slaves outside. They're still wearing ragged clothes. And there's the matter with their daily need. Ah, I also need to think how to transport them back to the village.

"Alright, hey guys ..., I'm Aram Hadrian, and you're my slave now. Hmm ..., first of all, I want you to divide into a group of ten and select a representative for your group. Do that first before I designated further task for you."

"Master, we are done ..." a dog-eared beastfolk reported.

"Hmm ..., alright, let's start with you then, tell me your name."

"This slave is Go Pang, Master." the dog-eared beastfolk, Go Pang introduced himself. His group consisted of seven male and three female beastfolk. They are all have canine trait so they band together into a group right away.

"Very well, together with your group go and buy some daily necessities that you may need in the future. Change of clothes, and other stuff. I give you one gold, that is more than sufficient for this. Ahh, right ..., I'll add ten silver so you can go to the public bath and clean yourself."

"T-this ..., can we have the luxury to do it, Master? And ..., what's daily necessities?"

"Think about it yourself, you're the one who's going to use it. Remember, I personally give you ten silver per person. If you're hungry you may buy some light snack along the way, but I'll also buy you food after you finish the task so I suggest to not buy heavy meal. Now go, meet me at Bluepeak Inn & Restaurant after you finish. You surely remember the name of your master, right?"

"Of course, master. I remember your name perfectly, Master Aliamu."

"It's Aram Hadrian. Whatever, go now before the day's getting darker."

The first group walked away excitedly. The second group is the rest of beastfolk, they are come from non-canine family, cat, rabbit, and even bird beastfolk. Their representative is a female scaled beastfolk. She looks no different than a normal girl but her eyes is a vertical slit and near her neck and collarbone she has snake-like glossy scale.

"Master Aram, I'm the representative of the second group. My name is Lei Ting." said the scaled snake-eyed girl.

"Good, you know what you should do right?"

"Buy daily necessities, change of clothes, and to clean ourselves in public bath. After finished, we will be expected to meet you in the Bluepeak Inn and Restaurant."

"That's right ..., here's the money. Ah, and let her join your group, is it alright?" I pushed the Wild Elf to join them, Lei Ting nodded and bade her farewell.

After that the rest is easy. I bought ten of dwarf slaves, and they grouped with themselves. And then the human, it seems that the woman separated themselves with the man and they made a group. Thus, their groups consist of two group of male and two group of female slaves. There are a total of thirty two woman from the slave, twenty from the human, eight from the beastfolk, and then two dwarf. Two other were Shuangxue and the Wild Elf that Mu Ying picked.

I made Shuangxue joined the girl's group and they went on their way.

"Will those girls ..., be fine?" Mu Ying asked worriedly.

I honestly thought with their look alone they would definitely a magnet for trouble. But ...,

"I don't think there's someone busy enough to cause a trouble inside the town."

"Still, I'm worried about them."

"Don't worry, if they meet with some kind of problem ..., I would immediately know about it."

It's one of the feature from the Master Orb, as long as I'm within certain range, I could sense my slave and their state of mind. Whether they distressed, panic, fearful, or elated. I could sense it. If they are in emergency situation, I also would immediately know about it.

"Shall we head to the Apothecary Guild, then?"

"Right, what do you want to buy again?"

"Some herbs, that girl ..., Shuangxue, was it? She suffered from Chillbone fever, a rare disease in this place. I want to concoct some medicine for her."

"..., Mu Ying."

"Hmm?"

"Are you not mad?"

"Why?"

"I mean ..., your man bought a lot of slaves, don't you suppose to feel mad?"

"And for what reason I must be mad at you?" she tilted her head looking genuinely puzzled. Stroking my cheek she then smiled bitterly and said. "Let me tell you this, Aram ..., I'm actually a lazy girl. So you bought a lot of servant to serve me, this made me really happy. And you're not buying them because of your lust, right? If so, then you just need to buy two or three virgin female slave. I trust it that you are not someone who thinking with your lower half. I am not mad at all, so don't worry. Let's go now ..., shall we?"

Lazy girl huh ..., I am actually a lazy boy myself. 

But really, I understood less and less about this girl. She looks jealous with me talking with that Xu girl and shown disapproving gaze when I basked my eyes with Fang Tongxin sexy body. But now she let me bought a couple dozen of female slaves just fine, and there's also Shuangxue which is way more beautiful than both Xu girl and Fang Tongxin. I don't know what's on her mind, really.

I shook my head to forgo the matter and then followed her. 

We visited the Apothecary Guild, and I waited for her to finish procuring herb for Shuangxue's medicine. After that, I go to the Trade Union to ask about carriage and horse for sale. And it's quite expensive, fifteen gold coin for a Thoroughbred horse! That's worth three Shuangxue! That unit is odd ..., but that's how it is.

As for the carriage itself, there are three types available for sale, the box type, cloth caravan, and open haul. I choose the cloth caravan because they are relatively cheap but also well-made. 

One horse-drawn carriage is ninety silver. I wonder, why the horses is more expensive than the carriage?

I also showed the Trade Union's manager that marble bead, the regular one. And he was willing to buy it for ten gold each. 

I covered the cost of the twenty horses with ten carriages by selling thirty one bead. There's still one gold left so I bought rock salt for the villager. Their diet seems lacking iodine.

We planned to return next morning, thus I asked the manager of the Trade Union to take care of the horse and carriage for now.

Together with Mu Ying, I returned to the Bluepeak Inn ..., and found the slaves were waiting in front of the inn. Ah, right ..., I forgot to book a room.
