It's Either You Or No One

When jasmine checked back at the wall clock, it's already past eight. She's been trying to reach her granddaughters since an hour plus, but yet none of them picked up the calls. Infact, they turned off their phones, which made jasmine became more worried. Her hair by now is now a total mess like she was struck by an electric. Hmm, yeah. Maybe electrocuted. Frustration has a lot to do with that. I guess. She grabbed the second iPhone 14 which her son, Justin, had bought for her few weeks ago before leaving for L.A, from the glass center table. At once within a blink of an eye, she began dialing her son's number.

The hopes inside of her

Mrs Maggie laughed her soul out and patted Orianna's head, "Oh my dear Orianna, my madame is not that harsh on people. She is married to my boss for twenty years now and they both are blessed with quintuplets. Three boys and two girls."

Orianna wiped her ears quickly and knocked her head if what she just heard was mistaken or misunderstood, 'Quintuplets? Did I heard you well?'

"Uh huh, you should see them when they return home for holidays. The masculines are very handsome, good looking and brawly just like my boss. The feminines? They are enchanting angels just like my madame."

'Wow, she doesn't look like a mother of one let alone five. She is so young like girls of my standard. She is Asia. I wonder what part of Asia she originate from and I also wonder why I didn't meet any of her kids when I first came in.'

"Kids?" Mrs Maggie placed her hands on her waist and chuckled. "Do you think those twenty years old adults should be regarded as kids? Though they recently turn twenty few weeks ago.'

'Huh? Twenty?'

"Well, they're all studying in George Washington University. Remember how you said you wish to study there too, right?" When Orianna nodded with puppy eyes, she shook her head and sighed, "Anyway, my madame hails from the South Korea ethnic."

Orianna placed a finger at the side of her mouth and slowly shook her head, 'Ah, now I understand. She is Empress Jee, right? But why has she not released a new album for long now? I'm a very big fan of her songs. Though her looks made me stare at her familiarly.'

"My dear, she will. It's been five years now since she last released an album and wrote a new book. Probably she took a break because of her grandmother Zhou's death." Mrs Maggie helplessly shook her head in dejection. She knew the deep pains deep down in her madame's heart. She missed her grandmother alot.

Pausing for a while, she continued, "Music is not an easy task, same goes for writing. Moreover, her youngest daughter Britney is an upcoming rockstar and novelist. She is taking after her mother's company immediately she graduates from college."

She knows how curious her granddaughter is and she is not tired of answering all of her questions in full.

When Orianna sighed in dismay, she added, "People like us are very far from the wealthy people's world. We are just ordinary people, you do know that, right?"

Orianna nodded vigorously. Of course they are.

"My madame is from a wealthy family and my boss too. My madame is a multi millionaire and my boss is an extravagant multi billionaire. You can see how much wealth has medged these two together for years."

'Precisely, grandma. Precisely.' Orianna nodded in agreement.

"But sometimes fate do get involve as well." Placing the knife down, Mrs Maggie lowered the gas cooker and poked her fingers out, "Two things; Don't hate the type of life you're gifted with. Everything has a purpose. And secondly, don't compare yourselves with others, or else, you might want to engage yourself into something you shouldn't, just because you want to imitate."

Mrs Maggie is saying this because she knew how ungrateful her granddaughter could be sometimes. Especially during hard times, she loves to murmur, nag and complain alot.

'Grandma?'

"Yes my dear?"

'Have these people ever care way too much for the needy?'

Mrs Maggie tittered. "Yes, they have. Most times, I do call them philanthropist and benefactors. My madame, is number one of them all. She haven't met you in private yet. Don't worry, when you two get to meet, you'll see what she has to say."

Orianna giggled and swing her legs excitedly as if something good just landed her way. She loves such point of statements. It's somewhat increases the hopes inside of her. Now she hopes for something good.

"Like I said before, my madame is not that harsh on people. In other words, we'll only get to see the ugly side of her if lunch isn't prepared before time."

Immediately Mrs Maggie stated that, Orianna slide down from the cabinet rapidly and began to help her grandma with all the necessaries.
