It's Either You Or No One

When jasmine checked back at the wall clock, it's already past eight. She's been trying to reach her granddaughters since an hour plus, but yet none of them picked up the calls. Infact, they turned off their phones, which made jasmine became more worried. Her hair by now is now a total mess like she was struck by an electric. Hmm, yeah. Maybe electrocuted. Frustration has a lot to do with that. I guess. She grabbed the second iPhone 14 which her son, Justin, had bought for her few weeks ago before leaving for L.A, from the glass center table. At once within a blink of an eye, she began dialing her son's number.

Good Samaritan

Outside the building

Searching inside her purse harshly, Britney gritted her teeths in annoyance. After the silly score that grumpy lit-in-english lecturer gave to her on her assessment work, Britney cursed and swear never to waste more reading times on her course.

Studying day and night, having sleepless nights at the end of the day all your efforts will be rated below your expectation. How can? How cruel is that?

"Arrghh!" Britney tossed her purse aside and groaned in anger. She felt like setting this whole college at blaze. If only she could do it. If only Harry Potter could lend her his magical spell to ignite some annoying people here. With all pleasure and gladness will she do it.

Kicking her two ipads and stuffs which had scattered all over the place, she clutched her hands on her hair and groaned louder, "I hate you silly materials. I hate all of you, everyone of you. No one dares to mess with the daughter of great Mr Sebastian Flynn. No one, I repeat no one!"

By the time her voice echoed everywhere and all the students stopped and stared at her, she snapped, "What are you mysterious creatures looking at?"

They sneered and scoffed at her before turning and walking away.

Looking at the messy things scattered all over the place, he bend down and helped her picked them up.

Britney tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and frowned at the guy. "Did I ask for help?"

The man didn't say anything. He continued picking everything that is truly hers and when he was done, he stood up and tucked them into her purse before handing the purse to her. "We are humans. We should develop an habit of cleanliness." He said.

For seconds, only God knows how long, Britney paused in a very deep daze. Their eyes locked and she was the one immersing into him like she could fully see through him.

He has jet-black eyes, thin pink lips, well carved nose, well shaped brows, light brown pixie hair, athletic body like, great heights, and good facial features.

Britney gulped down at once. He was everything handsome in her eyes. Never has she met such handsome in the past.

Several times she had claimed her brothers were the only handsome masculines in the world but it turns out that someone owns the real legit key of handsomeness. This guy is hot and sexy. Who is he? And why did he helped her pick up her things?

Waving at his hand over her face, he raised his eyebrows, "Hello miss?"

Waking up from her deep daze, Britney shook her head vigorously and smiled, "I'm so sorry for--anyway why did you helped me? I mean my littered stuffs?"

"Like I said before, we are humans. We should develop an habit of cleanliness." Extending his hand for an handshake, he smiled, "Bernard Abrams."

Taking his hand, she smiled, "Britney Flynn."

"It's so nice to meet you Britney."

"And you too, Bernard."

After awkwardly gazing and smiling at each other for quite some time, Bernard retrieved his hand. "Uhh--umm, your-- your stuffs, you littered them about, may I ask why you did that?"

Britney rolled her eyes and groaned, "Arrghh! It's all because of that hippopotamus professor." When Bernard giggled, she continued complaining, "You won't believe I wasted five hours studying her course a d doing her assignments and at the end of it all what did she rate me? 30/100! My mom will tolerate that score but my dad? He will twist my head off my shoulders and feed it to the birds of the air."

"Come on, why will you speak ill-mannered of your father that way?" Bernard still couldn't stop laughing.

"Hehehe, because I know he is capable."

Tucking his hands into his pockets, Bernard shook his head, "You should be thankful. You still have a dad you could call your own."

Britney frowned. Did she just misunderstood him? "Pardon? Are you fatherless?"

Taking a deep breath, Bernard brushed the weird question off his head and remarked, "I'm a mass communication student. This is my second year."

"Oh wow, I'm a literature student and it's my second year too." Britney exclaimed.

"That's nice. The population here is quite much. Rarely if not we do have met in our freshman's year, right?"

Britney nodded her head. "Of course, that's right." Pausing for a while, she awkwardly asked, "So--where were you up to before acting as a good samaritan?"

Bernard chuckled and brush his nose's tip. "Good samaritan? Okay that's a good one." He muttered. "Well, I was on my way to the library."

"It's lunchtime. Do you mind if I treat you for lunch? You know, as a way of rendering my appreciation for helping me pick up my stuffs some while ago." When he did not say anything, she quickly added, "We can come back to the library and study together after lunch."

Taking a deep breath, he nodded, "It's alright."
