chapter 6: promise is a must

It's the 'never will be exciting and fun' Monday again. I have always hated Monday. Other than being the first day of school of the week, the subjects are also boring. Not to mention the teachers, so boring. It's very painful for me to wake up early on Monday mornings for school.

In lazy, I make my way to the bathroom and shower. After I shower, I dry my hair with a hairdryer and start doing my skincare. I finished with them, I walked downstairs to greet my parents and eat my breakfast. My weight has gained a lot lately. Some students also said that I look chubbier than before, and it really has got me feeling insecure. For breakfast, I only eat a small pack of oat biscuits. I don't like it, I hate it, but I guess this is what I'll have to face if I don't want to hear people complaining about me. After eating, I went straight to my room to do my makeup. I don't want people to realize that I am wearing makeup, so I learned how to do natural face makeup. It does take time, but it was worth it in the end when people complimented me.

And that's my everyday school routine. Even if it's Monday, no matter if I am feeling lazy, depressed, or not in the mood, I'll still take care of my appearance, because that's the only thing that keeps people liking me. People don't care if you're kind, brilliant, or any other good personality. Those good things are not the ones that will keep them liking you. A gorgeous and attractive appearance is the one thing that will keep them. That's the harsh truth. People at school didn't care or even know that I existed before I started to take good care of my appearance, even though I was a top student.

At school, also, nothing new or different, making my way to class, people giving me letters, people talking about me, it's all the same, adding the boringness to Monday.

"Aiden, your letters" I gave him

"And here are yours... you will just throw those letters away or read them?" Again, with his repeated question. Imagine being asked the same question every day. Wouldn't you also be tired?

"I will and always and forever read them, Aiden," I said and walked to my seat.

The class eventually started and although it was boring, I managed to stay awake and focus throughout the physics class. It's now morning break time and, as always, I will spend time with my circle. Break time is the only time we can be together because only Fadly and I are in the same class, while Kim and Samuel are in two different classes. We used to be in the same class but only for a year. However, it is still difficult for all four of us to be together, as all four of us are active in and out of school competitions or events.

"All four free today?" Samuel asked

"Yes!!! Now let's go to the canteen!!! I'm so excited to exchange teas!" Kim said

Being friends with them is something that I will forever precious. And seeing all four of us excited about spending the break time together makes me smile with happiness.

"Alright c'mon let's go before the ice creams are sold out"

It did.

"NO ICE CREAM! YOU GUYS RAN SO SLOW", Fadly screamed hysterically. Instead of feeling annoyed, we actually find it funny. He ended up buying sandwiches while Kim, Samuel, and I just bought drinks.

"Was it good Fadly?" Samuel asked

"Good or bad, this is the only thing I can afford right now. I'm saving up right now"

"Says someone who owns a PlayStation"

We chatted together during the break. Although for some it seemed like nothing, I enjoyed it. Probably the only thing that lightens up my Monday.

In the middle of our chat, suddenly someone hugged me from behind. I shouted in surprise because no one had ever done that to me. I turned my head to my left to see who it was because I could feel his face next to me. To my surprise, it was Aiden. He says hi to me with smiling eyes. Without my knowing, I accidentally stared into his eyes for a few seconds and my friends started to speculate about things as I could hear them clear their throats. I gently push Aiden away so that he stops hugging me.

"Aiden? What are you doing here? Where's Saff and Harvey? You never spend the break time alone..."

"I was looking for you" and with only that, I can feel the blood rush to my cheeks.

"M-Me? Why?"

Suddenly, he leaned closer to me. It is so awkward. My friends looked at us with a surprised expression. They must be thinking nonsense stuff...

"You promised me, didn't you? Don't say you forget the promise you made in the car?" He smirks

It took me quite a long time to remember, but I eventually did.

"Oh about that... how about tomorrow? I failed to buy the ice cream... you wouldn't want me to feed you a sandwich, right? No class..." I laughed awkwardly.

And that's when he pulls himself back and takes out an ice cream cone from his jacket pocket.

"Don't worry, I've already prepared for it. I figured that you would be making excuses to not make your promise. So I already bought an ice cream cone for you" he smirks

"Ohhh cone? I was planning to feed you with an ice cream cup, not a cone... maybe tomorrow" I tried to avoid.

"Han, let's just do what you had promised. Now unwrap it and feed me" he passed me the cone with a big smile on his face.

I unwrapped the ice cream and asked him to open his mouth. However, he refused and asked me to eat the top of the ice cream first because there were some peanuts and he didn't like its taste. I cluelessly followed what he asked me without thinking twice. After that, again, I asked him to open his mouth and he finally did. I feed him the ice cream and realize the way he's licking it.

For some reason, it looks weird. It looks like he's in lust while eating it. He licks the ice cream with his eyes closed, the way he licks looks kind of aggressive, not to mention the moans he lets out. Although the moans sound small and I'm pretty sure only I heard them, it still feels weird. However, I chose to stay positive and maybe it was just the way he was eating ice cream.

"Oh no, I got some of the cream on my face, can you wipe them for me?" He says while pouting. For unknown reasons, I found that quite adorable...

"I don't have any tissue with me right now..."

"In my pocket, there is my handkerchief, please use it."

I take it out from his pocket and gently wipe his mouth.

"Ahhh thank you Han for keeping your promise, bye for now. For the remaining ice cream, please finish it. Bye" Before he left, he winked. God, I'm feeling like melting!

After he left, I turned my body to my friends again and all I saw was a speechless expression. I took a deep breath and prepared myself to answer their stupid questions.

"THE FUCK WAS THAT?! YOU AND AIDEN? SINCE WHEN?" Kim asked loudly.

"It's a very long story, BUT we're not dating so don't ask me "since when" 's questions!"

"Okay... explain"

I spent almost 10 minutes just explaining the whole situation. It might seem like a not-so-complicated situation, but every single thing that I say leads to a misunderstanding and I have to explain further to them.

"So you're not dating Aiden? But don't you think it's weird for him to... you know... be kind of jealous towards Saff about the cake feeding?" Kim asked.

"Yeah! The only possible reason is that he has a crush on you, but isn't Aiden straight?" Fadly added.

"Never heard anything about Aiden swinging both ways. All of his past relationships were with girls. So he can't have a crush on you..." Samuel said.

They were right. Why would Aiden be jealous of Saff? Why did he insist me to feed him? The only possible answer right now is probably because he wants to mess up with me and my feelings.

"Maybe he's a fuckboy who likes to play with other people's feelings. Giving them fake hopes makes him happy. Stupid fuckboy..." I said, annoyed.

"Han... you sound like you're pissed off by him because he gave you hope that he likes you. Wait... you like Aiden?"

"No!"

"You're too good for him Han... don't be with him," Samuel said.

"Honestly, you both are too good for each other, don't you guys think that they have a great chemistry?" Fadly teased.

I expected Kim and Samuel to reply with a disgusted face, but instead, they both nodded energetically with smiles on their face showing that they agreed with Fadly

"Fuck all three of you!" I said furiously

"Ohhh shut up, from now on we're going to ship you with Aiden!" Kim jokes

"But I-" I was cut off by Samuel who suddenly covered my mouth with his hand.

"Shh.... I'm going back to class" he let go of his hand and walked to class with Fadly beside him.
