Battle and Bond

"Anomaly detected!"

The custom Rotom artificial voice is stated as it detects an anomaly in both Yoake and Gardevoir's heart rates. There was a connection but it wasn't as strong as it supposes to be. It couldn't tell if the changing pace of heartbeat was caused by the nervousness of the trainer or by something else.

Rotom noticed how important the heart rate between Yoake and Gardevoir was and decided to give live data to both Professor Oakido and Leaf to see if this has something to do with battle bond.

"Gardevoir, both weak and strong against Crobat but the latter is faster than the former. I do hope that Yoake trained Gardevoir to be very fast." Brock commented.

"Even if he trained Gardevoir to be very fast. Crobat will still outspeed it...."

"Crobat, in nature, are very fast flyers. They glide through the nights to capture prey. They were molded to be very fast and hit very hard. Gardevoir, on the other hand, are typically slow since they are a very reactionary Pokemon. They'll only attack if there was a change in their environment or being competed with. If you put these two Pokemon in the box and left it, you're more likely to see the Crobat alive than Gardevoir. However, we aren't sure if Gardevoir has fast enough senses to quickly react to Crobat's stimuli but I do lean in that Battle Bond would help them here. Even though we have no clue what it is nor its origins." Leaf stated after breaking the long silence. She worked for the professor in her free time, she knows and understands a lot of Pokemon, it would make sense of her to know all of this.

"So, you're finally going to use your Ace. Very well. Better hope you have a stack of antidotes and revives in your bag." Janine smickered as Gardevoir enters the battle.

"Crobat, use Cross Poison!", "Gardevoir, dodge it and use Psychic!"

Crobat thrust itself towards Gardevoir at full speed. Both the trainer and the Pokemon know that a single cross poison is fatal and Gardevoir quickly reacts to Crobat's action by teleporting from her former location to the center as soon as Crobat was about to hit her.

"Give everything you got, Cross Poison!"

Janine told her Pokemon. Crobat nodded and charged towards Gardevoir with its poisonous wings ready. Gardevoir dodges it once more but Crobat didn't allow a single hit to be missed, it tried again by U-turning ang lunges once more towards her. Gardevoir dodges it, again, but this time, she decided to teleport upwards as she forms a psychotic ball on the palm of her hands and threw it to Crobat as a pitcher would do in a baseball match. As this battle continues, Rotom detected another anomaly as if the two heart rates were slowly binding into one single heart rate.

Crobat stood up as it was a slither from fainting, one single hit, and it's over for it. The three noticed that there was a faint aura shining through both Yoake and Gardevoir's bodies.

"Alright. Don't hold back. It's time to show your true potential." Yoake stated as the two were synchronously looking to Crobat.

The two's state of mind and soul were slowly uniting as a Bond was formed between them inside the Battle. Blood was rushing through to the both of them, the blood type K was slowly revealing its true nature. The two are entangled by faith to meet and to intertwine, to become the trainer and the Pokemon that will bring light to humanity.

A white blinding light glow through the dojo as the two slowly awakened the ancient power of the thing that made the Katsuragi unique, and the power that was stored within Pokemon for a very long time, the true nature, the perfect being, a merge between Man and Monster. The light slowly fades away, and all of them were able to see Gardevoir, floating through the sky, it was the same Gardevoir that wreaked havoc on Fuchsia city earlier but this time, both the Pokemon and the trainer were there. Separated bodies but share one mind and soul.

Yoake was still there, standing with full confidence. Unknowingly to him, he has no idea that he has awakened something. Everyone was stunned as they were glancing at a being that nobody has ever seen.

Gardevoir has drastic changes on her body, she was a black knight. The black helmet that covers her head from any falling debris or attacks, a chest plate with an opening for her triangular spike, a black metallic dress, and her legs are also covered in black. Her arms have built-in weapons, on her left, she has a shield, a combination of white gold and black silver, that extends from her hand up to her elbow. On her left was a sword. A sharp triangular object that can pierce the armor of an Aggron.

"Anomaly detected. Gardevoir lost her Psychic essence and gained a new essence, Steel. Making her a Fairy-Steel Pokemon." Rotom detected the huge change of DNA structure that Gardevoir has as she turns into its black knight form.

"This is the power of Battle Bond…" Professor Oakido astonishingly said as he was speechless from the transformation.

"Anomaly detected. It seems that Gardevoir's ability has changed, it turned into Mold Breaker." the Rotom stated.

"Gardevoir use Flash Cannon!", "Crobat, return! Drapion, end this!"

Janine quickly returned Crobat to ensure that he can survive and get a save heal later. She threw in Drapion as her last-ditch to heal the rest of her team. Gadevoir made a small iron ball on her hand and threw it to Drapion. The Pokemon was hit with immense force but it survived in a slither of health.

'This is the power of Battle Bond eh, new looks and a new type that is known to be good together. Why was this wasn't use throughout history?' Ren thought.

"Just because you have a new type that's immune to Poison, doesn't mean you'll win that easily. Drapion, use Earthquake!", "Gardevoir, use Fairy Singularity!"

Gardevoir compiled an electromagnetic charge and squeezes it until it formed a minuscule black hole and threw it in the center. Drapion stomped its legs to its ground, it slowly begins to tremor as a powerful earthquake was about to strike. The power of the black hole spiked as it begins to drag Drapion towards it.

"A black hole!?" Professor Oakido shouted. All of them were stunned to the immense power from Gardevoir.

Both Gardevoir and Drapion slowly levitate from the ground, it was unprecedented and caught everyone by surprise. Gardevoir gains immunity from ground-type attacks, thus Earthquake was useless, the two losses a weakness on both Drapion and Gardevoir, however, Drapion is rendered useless as he has no use on levitation, his attacks are required for him to use the ground to charge himself and attack but with the lack of gravity

"Great! Use Flash Cannon again!", "Grr, Drapion embraces yourself use Fire Fang!"

Drapion's fangs begins to spark as flames slowly formed in its teeth, read to crunch and tear apart the Gardevoir down. Instead of listening to its trainer's words, it charged with full speed with its sword ready to stab and impale the 'Ogre Scorp' Pokemon. With the combined speed and the being able to levitate, Gardevoir managed to make quick work with Drapion as she thrust its sword to its neck, fainting the Pokemon with an immense blow.

"It's so powerful…" Brock was lost for words after witnessing the events that took place.

Janine turned to her left and saw Ren nod.

"Fine, you win." Janine yielded as she realize how powerful the thing is. Even if she tries to use Mega Evolve, it would be a hopeless case, it's better to surrender, for now.

Janine withdrew Drapion and the black hole collapsed as soon as she withdraws. Gardevoir transforms back to her normal self. Yoake took a deep breath and sighed. Janine walks towards Yoake and handed the soul badge.

"As much as I wanted to be fair, but this battle is a case study so you're lucky that forfeiting is the only answer."

"I'm gonna consider it very lucky," Yoake stated.

"Well, how about it professor?" Janine asked the Professor through the Rotom phone.

"I-uh-uh- I'm lost for words. The entire event was too much for me to handle but luckily, Rotom managed to record the entire thing so I can study it further. I might need help from Leaf tomorrow, so Leaf, come by at my lab tomorrow, and can you contact professor Sycamore for me?"

"Sure." Leaf said in a monotone voice.

"Alright. Thank you so much Yoake and please take care. Your powers are too extraordinary so be precautious, many malicious people want your power. I'll tell this to your parents so that they'll know about this." The Professor ended the call as Leaf stood up and walks towards Yoake.

"So… What do you think?"

"You're a disappointment."

Leaf exits the gym after saying those words. This gasped Gardevoir as this caught her by surprise. She was expecting some sort of proud smile or compliment, but no, there's only disappointment. Yoake, who was furious from those words, follows her.

"EXCUSE ME!?"

"Uhh.. Excuse us." Brock said as he saw Gardevoir following the two trainers walking away. He followed them outside, leaving Ren and Janine in the dojo.

Leaf walked outside as if she saw a potential starring movie but fails quickly at the end. There was nothing more than disappointment in her eyes. Yoake bickered in anger as he follows Leaf after hearing the dismayed words from his former babysitter, the person that has been helping him throughout the years, the person that didn't lose hope in him, the person that only cared for him, is the same person that insulted and ghosted his acts.

"What do you mean disappointment, Leaf?" Yoake bantered.

Leaf was standing at the far end of the stairway, she was only on the base level while Yoake was standing at the flat center. Gardevoir and Brock walk out of the dojo and follow them to ensure if these two fought, there is a mediator to stop them.

"I tried to be optimistic throughout the battle but I realize that you're not yet ready. I thought that you had it in you, but the way your Pokemon quickly fell to a simple gym and you asked the specialist to be tougher and to use a Mega Evolution while you have no control over Battle Bond…"

"I'm bringing you home."

"Home? But I can do things on my own, I fought specialists on my own. I can handle this. Even without Battle bond."

"On your own? You cheated on both Brock and Misty's gym! Ellix is in a hurry so he only did a one-on-one. Erika was being nice so she only used her weakest Pokemon. Janine is the only specialist that didn't hold back but she forfeited since the entire battle was a study for battle bond. Brock, tell him the truth." Leaf turned around as she gives a huge slap of reality to the trainer. She didn't hold back as she wants the trainer to know the truth.

"Brock?"

"It's true. Bellsprout nor any Pokemon aren't allowed to swing from high heights to dodge attacks. It's kinda illegal but since we don't often have Pokemon battles, we decided to allow it."

"I told Erika to ensure that you're safe and able to become stronger. But here you are. So much so as the 'World Champion'. Do you think that game logic would work in real life's logic? No." Leaf ranted.

"If I'm going, to be honest. I'd rather want Ren to become the champion. I saw her train, transparency, and manages to beat the specialist, fair and square." Those words were enough to break the trainer's heart, Gardevoir gasped as she was too surprised by the current event.

"Look, I know you want to become the actual world champion but your not yet ready. Come on, let's go home, take a break for a while. I just want you to be safe from anything else, okay?" Leaf sighed as she realized how harsh she was. She just wants him to be safe after all of the events she has witnessed throughout the years, she just doesn't want a repeat of the events six years ago.

"No, I want a battle. I want to prove to myself that I'm ready." Yoake argued as he wants to demonstrate his true potential to his former babysitter.

"Fine then. I'm warning you. If I win, we're going back home and forget being a trainer. If you win, You'll continue on your 'adventure' and I'm gonna stop bothering you for the rest of your life." Leaf warned the trainer.

"Deal."

To be continued

Update: I forgot to give credits to the design concept of Battle Bond! Gardevoir. The design was inspired by ShiroganeRyo's Gardevoir Galar form. Here's the link from the original art:

So the next chapter might be released on either Monday or Tuesday depending on my schedule since I'm kinda surprised that I published this chapter a lot earlier than expected. Anyway, I'm excited for Legends Arceus, so what's your favorite Hisuian regional form? Mine is Braviary.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
