The alarm clock started blaring, making him jump out of bed from the sudden noise.

"Damn, I forgot to turn off that alarm... 'Sigh' Oh well, it doesn't matter now." With a big yawn, he walked toward the bathroom, wanting to wash his face to shake off some of his drowsiness.

Once in the bathroom, he splashed cold water on his face. When he raised his head to look in the mirror, he noticed text floating above him.

"Huh... Issei Hyodo Lv 2... I must still be dreaming... One of those system dreams... If only it were real…"

Ignoring the words above his head, he fixed his hair and went downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast. "I don't feel any pain, so this is a dream."

Upon entering the kitchen, he saw his mother preparing breakfast.

"Morning, Mom. Yawn What are you making for breakfast?" He noticed his mother looking at him with a surprised expression.

"What are you doing up so early? I thought you'd sleep in after what happened yesterday."

This dream seemed too realistic for some reason, so he pretended nothing was wrong and went along with it.

"I forgot to turn off my alarm…" He walked toward the table, intending to sit down and eat.

It was strange—he didn't know he could feel hunger in a dream. Maybe it was one of those ultra-realistic dreams. In the end, he didn't think much of it. But as he was about to sit, he accidentally hit his pinky toe against one of the chair legs.

"Shit!! That hurts!!" The sharp pain made him immediately crouch down, grabbing his foot tightly.

'How can it hurt this much in a dream?!' A small tear was forming in his eye.

"Issei! Are you okay?!" His mother's concerned voice snapped him out of his daze, and he slowly stood up.

"Y-yeah… I just hit my foot against the chair… Ugh…" Still in pain, he sat down, but suddenly, another sharp pain came from his ear.

"Be more careful next time! And what did I tell you about cursing at the table?!" His mother was pulling his ear with such force that he felt like she was about to rip it off.

"I'm sorry! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts! Please let go, Mom!"

It wasn't until after a full minute of torture that his mother finally let go and returned to the kitchen to finish cooking.

"She didn't even tell me what she's making…" He muttered under his breath, not wanting to be heard.

But the intense pain he had just experienced wasn't something he should be able to feel in a dream.

'Then… those words… are real? Do I have a system?!'

Only then did he realize that a screen was floating to the side of his vision, and his mother had words floating above her head.

Those were the words floating above his mother. Realizing that this wasn't a dream, he couldn't contain his excitement. It was a dream come true—to have a system!

In Issei's room, he could be seen sitting on his bed with a face so pale that one might think he was a ghost. "The world is going to be destroyed, and I was chosen to save it?" He was still struggling to process what was happening.

'Sigh' Suddenly, he slapped his face to snap himself out of his stupor. "Alright, Issei, relax and think this through. Gaia-sama said I have potential. The question is, what kind of potential?" Looking at the system message that appeared when Gaia's message ended, he got an idea.
