Level 2

As days went on, Hyuuko kept doing the same thing.

For her daily activity was as follows.

First, wake up. Next, eat leaves. Then, glitch. After that, eat more leaves. And finally,sleep.

These went on for the first year of her life. No questions or complaints. Alone, unknown in the forest. No monsters or humans. No one, nobody.

Exactly 365 days after her birth, the mod came back into her mind.

[Congratulations. Hyuuko has leveled up. She is now level 2.]

'level... 2..?'

As the mod, an orderly event happened.

First, in Huuko's sight, on the right corner of her sight, a symbol appeared. When she looked at the symbol or focused on it, suddenly, 3 bars and 4 rectangles appeared.

The first bar was labeled Hp. The second was labeled Exp. The third was labeled Mana.

'game..?'

These were clearly referenced a game status. In every game, Hp means how much health you have, Mana means a unit of that you use to do magic. Exp means your progress to your level up.

And next we have those 4 rectangles. Though 3 were literally fully grey with no writing, the first rectangle had a writing on it, written in English. And since mod didn't tell what type of memories were lost, it left her language memory untouched.

'Hexa...? ...six...?'

Who knows what that is. It does seem like a skill but who knows?

The second thing mod said was [Human clothing has been given to Hyuuko]. As it said, Hyuuko, who was wearing only white diapers, suddenly had a small pink T-shirt on.

The third event as the mod said was [Appearance upgraded]. What it meant was that Hyuuko's baby body grew into a 4-year old body. Her hair also grew. It's now as long as her forehead. Its color was light blue, with a shade of purple in the edges.

The next 2 events that the mod said complemented each other. Her safe space decayed, meaning anyone can attack the little child. The mod isn't mean enough to let the girl be helpless, it gave her the ability to fight or retaliate when needed or if she did want to engage in a fight purposely.

Mod left the world.

'fight?.... how...?'

As she thought that, a loud growl suddenly emerged from the blue forest. Curious, she glitched her way into the source of that sound.

A dog as tall as her appeared with black eyes. It had a generic hound appearance.

As she glitched closer, the hound started to walk in her direction. as its mouth opened it revealed the many sharp fangs it had. It seemed to drool in hunger.

'hound..'

The hound went closer to the 1 year-old child. Then, all of a sudden, it suddenly jumped at Hyuuko with its mouth open.

'Eeek!'

It seemed like she was about to die. But before the thing bit her head, the surrounding space suddenly became dark.

As the darkness cleared up, Hyuuko can see her surroundings again. But something isn't right.

It seemed like she wasn't in the same position as last time. Before she was in a forest full of trees. But after the darkness cleared out, around her was a clearance.

'where....?'

As she looked to the front, the same hound can be seen. It was static though, no movements.

'what...?'

[Welcome to your first fight. Let me guide you through this battle.]

The mod suddenly showed up out of nowhere.

[So as you know already, your status matters. But the one that matters the most is your skills.

If you don't know already, your skills take up mana. But our world doesn't let you know how much mana will a skill use. So use the skills wisely.]

[Now, you are able to stand up.]

Hyuuko tried to stand up. She was miraculously able to stand up. Maybe this was the acts of the mod, who knows.

[If you remember, which you do, you have picked the Turn Based battle style.

Let me guide you.

First of, on top of you, you can see a small ball of glowing light. This tells your hp.

On top of the enemy, you will also find such a marker.]

When she looked up, Hyuuko saw a green ball of glowing light floating above her. On top of the hound was another green ball of light.

[If someone is damaged, their ball will change color. Green then blue, then yellow, then finally red.

When something has a red glow, they are defeated.

Now lets move on to the battle.]

{Hound used wind scratch}

The hound then scratched the wind using its claws, the area of which the air was scratched suddenly moved towards the direction it was scratched. For Hyuuko, 3 lines of wind suddenly blasted towards her.

It scratched 3 more times and 3 more waves of wind was blown towards Hyuuko. She was able to avoid all but one line of wind.

Her hp decreased by a small fraction.

Then time stopped. No one could move.

As she chose the option, time then resumed like the stop never happened. For the hound the time didn't stop at all, it was only Hyuuko's perspective.

Hyuuko quickly ran to the hound to....

'glitch... how..?'

She just kept running and running. As she was only a few feet from the hound, suddenly her left glitched hand glitched in a sword. Now she is holding a sword on her left hand.

'5.. seconds'

She quickly slashed her sword at the hound. One powerful slash a second. 5 slashes total.

2 were blocked, 2 hit, and 1 was evaded by the hound.

Those 2 that hit though did massive amounts of damage. The hound's marker glowed yellow after that slash. Just one more and it will die.

{Hound used Skill, Sharp Claw.}

Its claw that was already sharp became even sharper. But it seemed to only be able to be used once,

The hound did a scratching move with those claws on Hyuuko. She evaded one but the other one she tried to block. the block move failed as her sword broke and shattered.

But since it was a glitch, the sword just disappeared.

It's Hyuuko's turn again.

'Hexa slash'

As she thought of the skill, it activated.

[6 slashes to be used in 10 seconds.]

Hyuuko was so close to the hound already that a sword suddenly popped up out of nowhere without her knowing it.

She quickly slashed 6 times at the hound in the shape of a hexagon to avoid any evasion or deflection. The slashes glowed purple.

As she finished slashing in a hexagon, the slashes merged to shape a hexagon in the air. The shape then launched full force at the hound in no second.

Its marker became red.

[Hound defeated]

'fun..'

[Congrats, you have defeated your first opponent. You may train yourself until you are level 50 which is the max level. You gained exp.]

'want... more..'

Hyuuko wanted more. She had fun in the battle.

And so started her search for more fights around the forest.
