Leaves

A baby, sleeping in a forest, calmly breathing.

Until one leaf floated down on to the baby, touching its right hand.

This woke up the baby, it seemed felt like a threat for her. As the baby woke up, its mind started up.

'where..... am I..?'

Her thought spoke. Confused, the mind tried to move its body. It first moved its left foot, then right foot, then left hand, then right hand, then finally the head. Although weak, it was still successful to move its body by a little bit.

As she looked to the left, she saw trees. Trees with red leaves and dark brown trunks. As she looked at the opposite direction, she saw trees again. The trees were different though, these trees have ice blue leaves with a white trunk.

Then next she tried to look at her front. A clearing, in the shape of a path. Fallen leaves cover the edge of this path. The leaf variations made the path look nicer and more beautiful.

She then tried to speak and let out a voice from her mouth. What came out was a high pitched "Aaa". But the mind didn't mind

'I.... can't get out of this spot...'

The muscles and bones of her weren't strong yet. This was the only thing keeping her from moving from one spot to another.

*Grumble*

The sound came from her stomach.

She was hungry, she needed food. It's already one day since her reincarnation. She desperately needed food.

'Hungry...'

She thought struggling to move her body. After a minute of struggle, her emotions became uncontrollable. She started to cry, sinking in many weird emotions she never felt.

Her cry was loud, so loud in fact it echoed through the forest. But she was in the middle of a large forest, no one was present in the middle of the forest, only beasts roam the forests.

'I need food! I need food!'

She closed her eyes in desperate need of food.

Then she opened her eyes again after a few seconds. But this time, for some reason, she was in a different spot. Before, she was in the middle of a path, now she is somehow in the red forest. near the leaves that fell from the trees.

'how...'

She thought. But more importantly, since she was near the leaves, her hands took some leaves and she placed the leaves in her mouth. She bit and chewed on the leaves, before swallowing it.

How she wanted to eat more.

So she took more leaves and ate them. But as she ate them, she saw her left hand. It was not normal, it was weird.

It looked a bit, as she described it,

'glitched...'

Which was right, it had small squares that constantly fade in and out of existence. Some parts of her left hand were colored negatively. Her right hand was a normal white skin color, but her left hand was colorful in a way that it looked weird.

Yes, it did have the white skin color, but some parts of it were orange and blue. These made her hand look glitched.

Then the girl tried to touch the leaves with that hand. The leaves that touched her hand became blue-ish, negative. Everything that her hands touched became glitched too, those leave that she touched suddenly also had those appearing disappearing white squares.

'blue... leaf...'

She now wants the blue leaves, but she didn't know how she moved. It was a random teleport that lead her to that spot.

She tried closing her eyes, then opening them a few seconds.

Same spot...

No movements at all. She was confused how she did that the first time. How did she do it?

Then she looked at her left hand.

'glitch.....?'

Then she tried to close her left hand.

Suddenly, her sight became disoriented and glitched.

Suddenly, she and her body is in a different spot. Specifically, the blue forest. The girl can now eat the blue leaf.

And so she did eat the blue leaf, this leaf had a different taste than the red one. While the red one was sour, the blue one was sweet. She didn't know which she wanted more.

As she finished eating, she slept on a pile of blue leaves.

It was a calm sleep, no disturbance.

The baby slept calmly as the day went on.
