I said in questioning tone, but I was mostly sure about it. I saw Mizu nodding beside me on my comment.

"Hahaha…that's actually true. The guild reached the conclusion that it can't let go of someone as skilled as both of you…so as a special exception, we planned to promote you both to rank A."

"I see, but is it that simple to go higher in rank though?"

I asked Daas, since Neena explained about guild rules one has to make achievement or completing some designated quest to Rank up. Daas held his chin with a hand, deep in thought.

"Well, let's see…to be promoted to rank A, there is another way and that is to get the recommendation to two guild masters. I'll explain the situation to another GuildMaster I Know and have them write a recommendation letter, so it'll probably tale one week…did you plan to leave the town?"

I replied that we indeed planned to leave the town same day, head for Vale and cross over to Peaches Kingdom.

Daas then told me to wait a moment, wrote something on a piece of paper and gave it me.

"Show this recommendation letter to the GuildMaster in Vale. If you do, they should issue your card on the spot."

"Huh! Is it that easy to issue?"

I mean didn't main character have to face some cliché and then GuildMaster will doubt him, but he will prove his worth and leave everyone in dust.

"Yes, well I'll send a horse messenger to inform of the situation. Because of guild regulations, you need to carry the recommendation letter yourself, so we'll have them take care of other necessary procedures. If you give them the recommendation letter, they'll issue your card right away."

"I see, understood."

Convinced, I thanked Daas and got ready to leave along with Mizu.

I turned my back to Daas and was about to exit, when he called out to me.

"By the way, it looks like there are more and more bandit attacks on the road to Vale recently. You'll probably be all right but stay alert."

Here comes the flag. I wish he shouldn't have informed me, but I understand his concern.

"Understood, thank you for the warning."

I thanked Daas again and left the GuildMaster office.

"Why long face?" asked Mizu since my expression was really ugly.

"I realized that I could see future troble."

"Really. What did you see?"

"Nothing some student at same school came to harass me."

"Huh! What's that supposed to mean?"

"You will realize about this in future."

"Let's take some escort request. Because it will leave a bad taste in y mouth if we didn't complete any quest and became rank A adventure."

After that we went to counter and asked Neena to check if there is any quest available for escorting someone to Vale.

"-please wait a moment. If there are any escort requests to vale. I'll find them right away."

We both sat in a chair next to the counter to wait, staring off into space, but the adventurer who witnessed my spat with three C ranked adventurer were afraid to look into my eyes.

I really was happy. In many novels that I read, Main protagonist was always picked by Mobs and when they beat up Mobs somehow, they start worshiping the protagonist. But seeing how they are afraid of me made me satisfied.

"Are your sadist?"

"I mean you are happy when they are afraid of you."

"Yes, I am quite sadist in the bed, want to give a try."

After seeing her laughing on me I teased her or simply sexually harassed her.

"Humph!"

As we were chatting with each other few minutes passed and Neena returned to counter.

"Mr. Akira and Miss Mizu, I found a request matching your inquiry. It's about escorting a trading company party, and they're set to leave very soon. The request is for five people, and they already have three…will your party take it?"

"Yes, thank you, I will…I'm also grateful for everything you did for me, Ms. Neena."

After that Neena informed us that we need to show our adventurer to at Vale guild once we arrived there. It would mark the request as fulfilled, so I went straight to the rendezvous point.

I put all my luggage into the item box, same with Mizu in the morning, before leaving my lodging, so I had little to me.

We quickly reached the rendezvous point and found two-horse carriages, with a merchant looking like man next to them.

"So, you are the requester?"

As the middle-aged man heard my voice, he turned around to see me and smiled.

"Hello! Adventurers my name is Bachus, I am the owner of Bachus trading company and I request guild for escort request. I am travelling to border town of Vale with not so much luggage but for safety I hired adventures. Please take care of us.'

"Same here."

After saying this he went inside his carriage. He looked like strict individual. As long as he is not arrogant young master type it is alright, I guess.

I then heard a voice from behind me.

"You both are the second team that accepted this request?"

I turned around and saw a group of three nasty-looking men.

A bit wary of cliché situation like they will call me weak or try to exhort me. If they do that, they this time I will not be able to stop myself from making them impotent. High level Dark magic has a spell that can make anyone impotent. It's a curse type magic.
