Chapter 9 - Viscount Andrew's story Part 2

However, the stick wasn't as sharp as usual. Viscount Andrew wasn't feeling well. This was Ryu, who thought it might be his first work, but he kept taking pictures because he had a habit of taking pictures when Viscount Andrew was fishing.

It was past noon since they started fishing. However, Viscount Andrew had yet to catch one. This doesn't look good seriously. While trying to freshen up to change his mind a bit, Viscount Andrew saw a figure in a faraway place. The figure that the thief had mistaken was like an ordinary soldier from some country.

"You guys! What are you doing there!"

"Sorry. I'm Viscount Andrew. I found this place and was fishing during my trip. What if… is this a place I shouldn't go to?"

"Viscount Andrew? I've never heard of it...but the Viscount is a noble...hey. What should I do in this situation..."

"I don't know. But it's not good if you do it badly. This is a noble's stealth journey? It's bad if you take good care of it. Here's the report back."

"That... is it okay to fish?"

"Eh? ... It's okay? Oh! I think it's okay. We'll come back with this."

Then some of the soldiers returned home in a hurry. The Viscounts Andrew wondered what it was, but only Miral and the other White Beasts looked at the forest far away. This place is downwind from here. After a while, Ryu approached Miral who looked away.

"What's wrong with them?" Ryu

"No, because someone is observing this situation...but I don't feel any particular murderousness, so I wonder if there's a problem."

Ryu was worried when he received the report that someone was observing her. And that day they ended the day without Viscount Andrew capturing anything. Ryu asked Viscount Andrew if they should leave the area immediately after today's event, but Viscount Andrew said he didn't want to go because he couldn't catch the targeted fish.

Personal safety was the highest priority, but Viscount Andrew didn't like coming here and returning without fulfilling his purpose. The old people in the village are still in his head. Viscount Andrew couldn't hold it in, so he fished all day the next day, but still couldn't catch anything.

It's a complete slump. Or maybe there are no fish in this lake. Well, it must be the former. And the next day. Viscount Andrew had trouble fishing again.

Suddenly there was a roar. The cause was the sound of running horses. Miral and the other White Beasts immediately tried to figure out their numbers from the sound, but there was a bit of sweat on their face.

"5000 is a bit over. You can see that the army is moving."

"That's bad! We have to run now! !!" Ryu

"...It's too late. It's pretty much the same from the other side."

As Miral said, a large number of cavalrymen came from the left and right in about a minute. The number is more than 10,000. Viscount Andrew also distorted his face in this situation. He didn't understand why he was surrounded by so many soldiers even though he was just fishing.

Miral and the others couldn't get past this crowd. Still, they try to find a solution. Meanwhile, a group of several people each jumped out from the left and right troops.

The story goes back several decades when the soldiers came to Viscount Andrew. Several decades ago, a large river flowed here. And two prosperous countries across the great river. Even though the two countries were neighboring countries, they were cut off by the muddy flow of a great river and continued to prosper without getting involved.

The water and fertile mud from the rivers provided sufficient nutrition for the plants and gave people lots of fruit. The two countries across the river prospered without any inconvenience. However, at one point, there was a massive crustal movement in a place called the upper reaches of the river.

Crust movements lifted the earth and divided the great river into three parts. The great river was divided into three parts, which reduced its momentum and made it easier to cross the river. This increases the possibility of contact between neighboring countries that have been cut off by the river.

But still, nothing happened. Because the blessings brought from the river continue to enrich the nation, even if they are divided into three. However, at one point, something went wrong with the three rivers. Two of the three rivers have started to die.

This is because the continuous movement of the crust unwittingly causes the water that comes out of the mountains to flow into completely different rivers. As a result, the rich country gradually declined. However, there is only one river left. They managed to continue their lives by sharing river water with neighboring countries.

At one point, a change occurred in the swamp. There was little water, and water gushed from the swamp, which was considered worthless, and became a lake. The lake has rich mud and beautiful fresh water, like the great river that once flowed here.

Neighboring countries are looking for the lake. Ask for past glories. They wished they could share the lake. But the lake isn't big enough to share. At first, they discussed. Adults talk to each other in moderation without fighting.

But one day, while a boy was fishing in the lake, a boy from a neighboring country appeared and injured the boy who was fishing, saying, "This lake belongs to our country." The injured boy came home and told his family what had happened. The family that heard the story hurt a boy from a neighboring country who came to fish the next day and said it was unforgivable.

That's the trigger. However, such an opportunity eventually led to fights between adults, fights between villages, and finally fights between nations, i.e. wars. The war has not been resolved for a long time, and every few years it has started and stopped.

And the story continued until a month before Viscount Andrew arrived here. A month before that, the war started again. However, just because war has started does not mean it will start soon. Both countries talk about their legitimacy and inspiring people.

But these are just ghosts. Most people drift and participate in wars without knowing why they are going to war. After all, this war stops whenever there is damage to each other. They just repeat it again and again without being resolved.

It was inevitable that they couldn't understand what such a war meant and why they were fighting. The two countries will spend a month preparing for war and waiting for the start of the war.

And the story finally returned to where the soldiers came to Viscount Andrew. Soldiers came to stake out the lake to retrieve it. Maybe the enemy country is draining the water without permission. Regular reconnaissance is necessary because something may have been done secretly by the enemy country.
