"What are you doing here? Why do you suddenly care about Mom?"
Seren's voice trembled, a mix of sadness and anger as she stood behind the sofa, her hands clenched into fists.
Lucien turned to face his sister, his heart aching at the sight of her red, tear-filled eyes. "Seren, I..."
"You think you can just waltz in here and act like you care? Where were you all this time?" she demanded, her voice breaking as she took a step closer.
"Seren! Don't say things like that to your brother. He's also busy with the village!"
Cassius tried to calm his daughter, placing a firm hand on her shoulder, but it was no use; she had his temper.
"What do you mean busy, Dad? We live in the same mansion but feel like strangers! He could just set aside five minutes to see Mom!"
Tears started streaming down her face as she angrily wiped them away with the back of her hand.
"But he decided to be a coward and hide!"
