New world
"Huff, huff, huff, dammit, all I wanted was to go buy cereal, why am I being chased by a dog monster?" The young boy running is Vell, he is 15 years old and just a few minutes ago, he was walking towards the convenience store to buy food until a light suddenly enveloped him and he found himself in a strange new world.
The monster is slowly closing the gap because Vell is running low on stamina, he was never the athletic type, the only reason he managed to get away from the monster all this time is because of the adrenaline boost which is now running low.
"SOMEBODY FUCKING HELP ME DAMMIT!!" He runs in an alleyway until he stops at a dead end trapping himself. The monster slowly approached him with its mouth salivating, Vell is trembling as he sees no way out of this situation. He looks at his side and sees a steel bar so he quickly picks it up and guards himself with his trembling hands. The monster leaps towards him ready to feast but in that moment while Vell's eyes were closed, time stopped and a beautiful light enveloped the whole area.
[updating....update complete. Synchronising with user….complete. Activating system…registering master…..complete.] Vell looks at the blue screen in front of his eyes with shock unable to move.
"A system, like from novels and stuff? What the hell is going on here?" Just then, another voice echoed in his head, this time gentle and warming.
"Greetings, child. Welcome to my realm. Our time together is fleeting, so heed my words well. Once every century, we select a soul teetering on the brink of death to be reborn in another world. You, fortunate one, stood at death's door and were chosen to embark on this extraordinary journey. Embrace this second chance, for you have been granted the rarest of gifts: a new life in a world beyond your imagination."
Vell could not believe what he was hearing but he remained quiet and continued to listen. "I have delved into the depths of your memories and selected a world from a show you hold dear. I have brought that world to life and cast you into it. In due time, you will recognize it once your mind finds calm. That is all I have to say. Embrace your new life, for there will be no third chance. Ah, yes, I have bestowed upon you a companion to aid you in this new realm—a system, much like the ones from those tales you cherish. And now, farewell."
The voice fades away but time was still frozen, he looks at his system counting down from 10, he knew that once that time hits 0, everything with resume so he steels himself and when time resumed, he remained calm and waited until the monster was close enough and swang with all his might knocking the monster into the wall.
"Woah, guess I got a start bonus, I feel strong, really strong." He smirks looking at the monster shaking its head before looking at him with pure anger. It attacks but he easily dodges and lands a power blow on its head knocking it out cold.
"That was easy…..this is so stupid, close to death, second chance, system, new world, IT'S SO STUPID but i can't help feeling excited."
[master, kill the monster to receive exp]
"Oh right, forgot about that." He approaches the monster and before killing it, he takes a closer look at it and he finally realizes which world he is in.
"N-no way, this is a wildmutt, so the world she chose was Ben 10...AWESOME!!!"
