a brief welcome

We arrived at Sycamore Junction, which was My mother's hometown. We came to visit my grandparents for the winter.

The town was somewhat more advanced than the previous town "Whispering-Pines," it seemed to be that the people's infrastructure are closer to the 1900's to the 1920 's where the buildings are made of bricks or concrete.

Even though the town was slightly closer to 1920's than Whipsering Pines, there weren't really that many erected buildings, and it was essentially just a very large village with some landmarks.

"I guess only the rich people or nobles had any sort of access to those luxury buildings and houses."

15 minutes later we arrived at my grandparents home and surprisingly it was very similar to my our hometown.

"Could it be that our manor back at home was built to be very close to this one so my mom would "feel right at home?"

There were a few maids and butlers that were awaiting for our arrival, and their outfits were very close to the ones back at home too.

"I guess mother really wanted everything to feel like home?"

We stopped right at the gates and as the covered wagon opened, My grandmother grabbed me from my seat and embraced me in her grips!

"Gwen!!! You're finally at grandma's! How have you been? Have your family ate lunch yet? Let's go indoors, I baked cookies for your arrival!!"

"Mmpphhh!.. Mmmpphhh~~!!" I couldn't breathe because my face was trapped by my grandma's arms and chest, I guess my mother also inherited her large chest from my sweet grandma.

"Hi Mom! How have you and dad been?" My mother has gotten out of the covered wagon.

"Oh Holly!! How was the trip? Did any bad guys tried to mess with you and Gwen!?"

"Hahaha! Don't worry "Mother" we didn't get attacked, only a slight encounter with a wendigo but nothing happened!" My father also exited and joined the conversation.

"A wendigo!?" her voice was surprised which finally let me escape the momma bear hug.

"Don't worry mom Gwen was very strong through it all!"

"*Gasp!*" I was finally able to breathe due to my grandma finally letting my face go.

"Hey Mom how's my old man?" My mom asked as she took out a basket of fruits that he enjoyed.

"He is inside the manor, cooking our lunch, he couldn't wait for his daughter's return!"

Me and my mother inheritted my grandmother's beautiful dandelion-blonde-hair color but we lacked her dazlzing saffron eyes, We did however inheritted my Grandfather's cerulean-blue eye color but lacked his Slate Blue hair.

I vividly remember that I was named after my grandmother, I heard stories from my mother that my grandma used to be a great huntsman as she used to hunt wolves and mooses? Meeses? To hellp keep the town safe from getting overran.

Despite bringing down bears and mooses? Meeses? My grandma was also a known tailor who help design very beautiful dresses and clothing for women, meanwhile my grandpa was a known chef at town due to his unmatched skill in cookery.

After the formalities were done, She brought us indoors which was very different from our home because it was more stylized than ours.

Our home was more of an elegant "antique" with a sense of ruggedness, meanwhile it felt like my grandparents home was more "casual" and more in line to modern homes where it's not overly decorated with a lot of old stuff.

Even though we got here safely and have managed to avoid any more wendigo encounters, it feels like trouble is just around every corner here… could there be something bad in this town… I feel cold, it feels like... We're being watched the entire trip to sycamore junction.

It's like I'm about to find out just how awful this world can be to those that are unfortunate enough to see it.
