Bright Yellow Flowers

Jayden glared at her. He wasn't dealing with it after the run they just had.

"I told you so, you never listen," Isobel said.

Jayden was going to hit her now. "Shut up Izzy. I asked you and you didn't exactly stop me. We both didn't know what was going to happen. It is no one's fault."

Isobel sighed and nodded. She looked around. Seeing her surroundings for the first time. The room was empty. And charred. They were in a burnt building.

"Do you think it's ironic that we climbed UP a fire exit to get inside an apartment that's been burnt to crisp?" Isobel asked.

Jayden furrowed his eyebrows and looked around and saw what she was talking about. He didn't know whether it was exhaustion or he was losing his mind. Jayden burst into a fit of hysteria. Clutching his sides he rolled onto the floor laughing. Jayden's laugh was contagious. Isobel found herself mimicking his actions. Her stomach was hurting from all the laughing and so was her jaw. Tears were pouring out of their eyes as they were still laughing.

Finally, they calmed down to form coherent thoughts in their head. Isobel stood up and went to the living room. There were no windows here. She felt safe talking here. "Do you have the bag?" Isobel asked. Jayden nodded and quickly pulled out a small bag. The bag was 1 inch thick and was not longer or wider than a couple of inches. Jayden unzipped it and shook it. Making the contents fall on the ground.

The contents so politely mentioned were their clothes. The older clothes but left the gloves on. They had found this bag along with the clothes and it was safe to say that they loved it. They could put anything in here and it will be just this size. This was the most practical thing they have ever witnessed. They both turned away from each other and quickly changed into their previous peasant clothes.

'You done, Jay?'

'Yeah.'

Isobel turned around and grabbed her coat to pull over herself. "Okay, so what's the plan."

"We'll go through the back alleys to the vending machine and reach the Willis tower. From there we take the elevator to the 99th floor, our event space. Then we just join our group and see what happens. We need to move quickly though or we might get caught."

Jayden nodded in affirmation. They quickly moved towards the door and opened it. Walking down the stairs swiftly but not making much noise. they ran from there but not as fast as before, their legs were still hurting. After they were about 5 blocks away they jumped over the dumpster lid. It rattled a bit under them. Over the dumpster, they quickly changed back into their old shoes and put the gloves into the bag. Jayden motioned to go first. He was the gymnast here.

Jayden did a long backflip. Putting a hand on the ground he did a cartwheel again and landed on his feet. Isobel raised her eyebrows. She says that their last footprint and this one had a good 15-foot distance between them.

"C'mon!" Jayden said.

"What!? Are you insane? You can do it simply because Arzen is a gymnast. All Tahlia has ever done is perform 3 cartwheels consecutively. In comparison to you, I am a potato." she stated. Jayden groaned they have to do something. Isobel realized it as well. If they went wrong here they were as good as dead. Isobel noticed that there was a canopy on the building next to her. She pointed it to Jayden and his eyes widened. There was a good five foot between the not too stable dumpster lid and the canopy. Who the hell makes a canopy on the backside. But anyway. It might be useful to them.

"Can you do it?" Jayden asked.

"I don't know. But the chances of it is more than the jump. Well, we all have a first. Parkour darling." Isobel said with fake enthusiasm, making Jayden roll his eyes. Jayden gave him a thumbs up in an exaggerated manner.

Without much space to run. Isobel backed up a few tentative steps to the edge. Aligning her body in a running position she bolted over the rattling lid. At the other edge and jumped over it. She barely landed on the platform stumbling a bit but caught herself. "I'll walk over here Jay to the edge of the building. They won't find two sets of footprints like this." Isobel said. Jayden nodded. It was a good plan.

Isobel ran over the canopies that lined the building as if its entrance was on the back ages ago. She jumped over it whenever there was a gap. There never was more than three foot making it very easy for her. On the edge, Jay stood near the end. Isobel jumped and he caught her. Both of them ran out of the alley.

Luck was on their side right now because not even a block later they found a vending machine.

"I can't believe they rent the stupid capsule in a vending machine,'' Jayden said grumbling.

"Put in two fifties, Jay."

"And why the hell is everything so expensive?"

"Put in two fifties, Jay."

"I just don't unders-"

"Put two mother fucking fifties in it, Jay!" Isobel snapped. Jayden huffed and did what she asked grumbling under his breath about how everything cost more than both of them making Isobel roll her eyes at his antics. Two medicine capsules came out of the vending machine with its bottom part ret and the top part transparent. The other one had the bottom part pink and the top part transparent.

Isobel quickly snatched the red one.

"You are not really thinking of putting in the baby pink one are you?" Jayden asked, horrified.

Isobel smirked and opened the capsule. The moment it opened she was inside one of those machines that looked like a capsule. It had a seat and a handle to control it like a bike's. It had a brake shoe as well and the accelerator was like a motorbike. She turned the power switch on. Isobel motioned to Jay to get in as well.

Jayden glared at the vending machine as if the machine had a personal vendetta against him. He whimpered and opened his capsule as well because there was no way he was feeding this piece of shit one more fifty dollars with absolutely no guarantee.

He was engulfed in his capsule as well. Sitting on his flowery seat he took a hold of the handle.

Isobel's shoulder shook with her trying to suppress her laughter. They both continued their journey to the Willis tower with Isobel bursting out laughing whenever she looked at Jayden. She stood up a bit and saw that Jayden's seat had bright yellow flowers on it making it send her into a fit again. Jayden growled at her and shifted in his seat to cover out the poking flowers on his seat but it was futile.

He couldn't wait for this mission to end.

I personally think Jay would look really cute on a flowery seat. Someone draw it for me. XD
