Jeneil informed them that she'll be visiting in two weeks with Malcolm. Marilyn's heart skipped a beat at the news. She knew this was her chance to push Hanes into finally popping the question. With determination, she intensified her efforts to convince him to marry her, even though he was preoccupied with winning back his lost love.
Meanwhile, Lyne and Quinn, unable to contain their own excitement, decided to go all out in preparing a warm welcome for their sister and her boyfriend. They dashed off to the store, eager to find the perfect gifts that would make their arrival even more special.
But Marilyn, consumed by jealousy, couldn't bear the thought of her losing her happiness to a younger woman. The news of the impending visit only fueled her anger, and she threatened Hanes, vowing to destroy everything that remained in Jeneil's room. "Don't you dare!" he hissed, his voice trembling with rage. "If you do that, it means you've submitted your leave"
Hearing these words, Hanes felt a pang of guilt. He watched as Marilyn crumbled to the floor, her tears flowing uncontrollably. In that moment, she couldn't help but question her own worth. Why wasn't she good enough for him?
Hanes couldn't help but feel a flutter of anticipation as he eagerly awaited the arrival of his beloved. The ache caused by Marilyn's actions had left a lingering unease within him, and he often found himself questioning why he continued to keep her in his life when she wasn't the one he truly desired. "Perhaps one day, I'll be able to let go of this infatuation and truly love her... but for now, it seems impossible." Even the twins, who had never experienced the presence of a mother figure before, were urging him to tie the knot. The true reason behind his unwillingness to do so remained a mystery to them, shrouded in the enigmatic depths of their innocent minds.
Time had passed quickly and Jeneil was not a phone call away, but within one's reach, accompanied by no one other than Malcolm. Hanes was the one to greet her at the door when she gave him that same warm smile but said "Hello Mr. Parker. It's nice to see you." He froze and thought to himself, "Mr. Parker? What the actual fuck? Why is she so formal?" She was no longer his little girl, just someone he brought up.
Marilyn on the other hand, became hard to get in contact with despite living in the same house. She locked herself in the room all day and only came out for breakfast, skipping lunch and came back out for dinner which she packed in a bowl and returned to her room. This made Hanes extremely happy. She was out of his way and he had more time to find ways to get rid of his love interest's boyfriend. Malcolm was very handsome, tall and dark with curly hair and his personality was even better. He's respectful, willing and has great humor. Hanes had no dirt on him to bring to light which typically results in a break up so he carefully observed his 'son- in-law' trying to find a reason why he's not the one.
A few days passed and Malcolm did not show any faults which discouraged Hanes and his search for said 'dirt' was discontinued. While sitting in the Kitchen, the twins burst in looking for Jeneil. "Calm down girls. What is it? asked their father. Their reply made his insides light up. "It's Malcolm. He's at the corner store with another girl and they kissed. We even have pictures." Upon seeing the evidence, Hanes summoned Jeneil with his heavy voice that echoed throughout the house. He volunteered to break the news to her. Her smile faded and she became pale. "Please excuse me" she said before running off to her bedroom with tears sliding down her face.
