Following his abrupt disappearance from the Ishtar Familia Mansion, Merlin finds himself in... A volcano?! Why?!
"Ah... That hits the spot! Sure as hell better than that reciprocity trap Mizoto concocted back in our Mansion!" The deranged dragon thought to himself in bliss, a stinging and completely wrong accusation thrown at at Mikoto once again.
"Alright! It seems the first big conflict has been resolved! All in all, I'd rate it a decent 6.5/10. It was a rather generic and anti-climactic ending in my humble, completely based draconic opinion. Would of been much more impactful had the Foxy died... Oh well! At least Bell learnt the consequences of his weakness and actions, Froggy was the perfect tool to enact a reality check! Yup yup! He's developing rather nicely as a result of this! But it's still not a satisfactory change, his naivety is still rather intact. Renewed and stronger resolve or not. Ah... What a headache! I need a vacation after this one, preferably a Familiar world or an easy autopilot hero to train, regretfully - those are extremely rare." Merlin neutrally analyzed the ending of the first large conflict Bell has faced in his presence. Rating it as decent, as well as cataloguing Bell's current progress and direction.
"What? You surprised I'm taking this seriously? Of course I am! I take my Hero Mentoring Role very seriously!" Merlin declared confidently his professionalism, in spite of the audiences very clear and correct doubts.
(What are your plans now?) The author questions the currently contemplating and relaxed dragon.
"What are you prying for? You know already. Don't you?" Merlin rolls his eyes at the Author's useless and stupid question
(True, but they don't) He points at the reader.
"Hmm, Right... Well my plans are... None of yer business you scallywags! The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma!" Merlin waves off the prying author's question, as he insults the readers.
(I believe You should be thankful they're even bothering reading the story about your adventures) The author chastises the ungrateful Dragon.
"And "I" Believe they should be thankful they even get the chance to know of my wonderous existence!" The arrogant scaly mole, humbly states.
(... Could you just cut to the chase and tell us what your plans are?!!?) The authors loses his patience with the menace.
"Look bro, you came here with your 4th dimensional camera, directed it at me, whilst I'm having a naked Lava bath. And began to question my motivations? It looks to me like your the one who's wasting other peoples time. I never agreed to this. Now shoo! Cya next arc! Catalogue my adventures when I'm available. Now's my break time!" Said scaly menace raises his eyebrow at the Author's sheer audacity to complain. Shooing the author away from his personal bonding time.
(... You're right, sorry... But what'll I do to compensate the Readers?! They came here expecting a full blown Merlin POV intermission, insightful and so on!) The author apologizes to his Boss, as he complains about the problem he'll have if Merlin doesn't cooperate.
"That's a YOU problem my audacious friend! They'll learn about my magnificent self in roundabout ways throughout the story! Ain't no way I'm just revealing the inner working of myself to them just like that! I don't know... Compensate them with some bonus chapter I guess I have no clue." Merlin mercilessly shut down the Author's hopes at having a full blown Merlin POV chapter.
(Alright... Moral of the story, folks: "Even I can't control Merlin!") The author concludes sagely.

So... As you can see, Merlin doesn't seem to be very cooperative! A shame... He used to be such a good sport in the past too! All that power and age got to his head I tell you!
